Next Gen News - Episode #98 | Welcome to another episode of Next Gen News, CraveOnline’s weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Erik Norris, Joey Davidson, Mike White and Alex Keen. On this week’s program we’re discussing a rumor that recently reared its ugly head. It’s been reported by Kotaku that the next Xbox will implement anti-used game technology to effectively kill the used game market. Trust us, this is terrible news for multiple reasons. We break down why in this week’s show. We also take some time to talk about all the big releases coming out this week, ranging from Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, The Darkness 2, Shank 2 and more. Listen in to find out our opinions on each. | 2/8/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #97 | This week's show weaves in and out of two main topics: Netflix finally walking away from video games entirely and what games we're looking forward to most during the month of February. The whole thing checks in at around 45 minutes, so get those running shoes on and take a joke while we insult eachother. The panel this time around features the now usual crew: Alex, Mike, Erik and Joey. Make sure you check us out every week, same time and place. Next Gen News - Episode #96 | Welcome to Next Gen News, CraveOnline’s weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Joey Davidson, Mike White, Alex Keen and Erik Norris. On this week’s show, we discuss the negativity that surrounds our gaming culture, whether it’s in games, on forums or between competing developers. Everyone seems to have a problem with something these days, and frankly, it’s killing our love buzz. But before we dive into that super depressing topic, we spend a few minutes talking about BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG. If you frequent Crave’s gaming section, then you probably already know Joey just recently dove head first into his first MMO experience. Therefore, we give him the spotlight for his 15 minutes of fame (read also: shame) to tell us what he enjoys and what he hates about the MMO scene thus far. | 1/25/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #95 | Are we crazy, or are there a lot of Mac OS X users out there in the world? With Apple computers gaining great marketshare traction, we decided to take this week to turn the show's discussion towards gaming on the Apple platform. Growing up, it wasn't an option…today, it should be. We also take a few minutes to dump heaps of praise upon a single 2D platformer that released in 2011. Rayman Origins is one of the best games our cast played, we'll try to sell you on it in this show. Listen in, subscribe, follow. | 1/18/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #94 | This week’s episode of Next Gen News is all about new consoles, specifically when we should expect them and why rumors can oftentimes deflate anticipation. This conversation was sparked thanks to the lack of a “Xbox Next” reveal during Microsoft’s Consumer Electronics Show keynote, which many theorized would happen. We’re all for new consoles (eventually), but right now just isn’t the time, and why that is is what we dive into on this week’s program. But don’t worry, we still manage to slip in a few references to Star Wars, Lost Boys and brainstorm an idea for a killer zombie game featuring deceased Compton rappers. Yea, we go there. | 1/11/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #93 | This week's show features Joey, Erik, Alex and Mike as we gather round and talk about the games we're looking forward to most in 2012. There's a lot of talk in this week's show about what's to come, including some time spent chatting about game soundtracks, the zombie genre, Naughty Dog and BioShock Infinite. Collectively, but the time we were finishing the show, we all realized that 2012 is looking stacked for games. Maybe not as brutal as 2011, but still pretty damn ridiculous. Good times lie ahead for gamers. Listen in, subscribe, follow. | 1/5/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #92 | Welcome to our final episode of Next Gen News for 2011. For our big, last hurrah, we’re detailing what our gaming plans are for the holidays. With the avalanche of amazing games released over the last few months, we have plenty to choose from to keep us busy between all the caroling, gift unwrapping and uncomfortable moments spent with that creepy uncle no one seems to like but is always invited over for holiday get-togethers. | 12/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #91 | This past weekend, the gaming world and millions of cable TV owners tuned in to watch the Spike Video Game Awards. This week's show is all about the results of the award show, a bunch of arguing and exactly how decent of Spike it was to put the things on. We get into the t********g, the nonsense and the frustrating bits just as hard the game selections, so things get a little heated from time to time. We love dick jokes just as much as the next group of dudes; but, does that make them okay for an awards show? Listen in, subscribe, follow. Sorry about the audio weirdness on one end of the show; it will be addressed. | 12/14/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #90 | Welcome to a new episode of Next Gen News, CraveOnline’s weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Joey Davidson, Mike White, Alex Keen and Erik Norris. This week for our 90th show we’re debating a heated topic currently making its way through gaming circles. Now that we’re seeing a bigger push for digital distribution and social gaming through internet browsers, are home consoles on the way out? Should Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony throw in the towel and admit defeat to games centered around tending your crops? It’s a question we weight in on over the course of this show. But as a spoiler for the impatient: we would not be happy if consoles disappeared. Not happy at all. | 12/7/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #89 | Two big things happened over this past holiday: Black Friday brought us amazing gaming deals, and we had four days off of work in a row. All of that added up to a frenzy of vidya game playin' that we haven't experienced in months. Erik, Mike, Joey and Alex get together for this week's episode to talk about all the games they've been playing lately, the sweet deals they've scored and what you listeners should probably be picking up this holiday season. Don't worry, in typical fashion, we're complete a*****es to one another. Subscribe! Comment! Review! Listen! | 12/1/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we turn our attention to the day that follows it -- Black Friday. There are a lot of great gaming deals to be found on Black Friday at various brick-and-mortar retailers scattered across the Unites States, as well as on digital services such as Xbox Live Arcade and Steam. We run down some of best offers and explain why you shouldn’t pass them up. We also find time to make fun of Alex for his terrible taste in pretty much everything. | 11/23/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #86 | Welcome to Episode #86 of Next Gen News with your hosts Erik Norris, Joey Davidson, Mike White and Alex Keen. On this week’s show we’re talking about games with awesome stories to tell that are unfortunately bogged down by crappy gameplay. Think of this show as the inverse of what we talked about last week. And what’s the reasoning for this topic, you might ask? Well, Joey is not a fan of Uncharted 3’s gameplay at all. Gasp! So we’re using Uncharted 3 as a springboard to discuss other games that fall into this category. Listen in for our thoughts on Assassin’s Creed, Brutal Legend, Fable III, Splinter Cell and more! | 11/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #84 | Welcome to a new episode of Next Gen News, CraveOnline's weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Alex Keen, Joey Davidson, Mike White and myself, Erik Norris. This week we discuss the value of multiplayer over single player. It's become a recurring trend for publishers and developers to prioritize the multiplayer component of their titles over single player, and we're not entirely happy about it (at least most of us aren't). We also throw out a few examples where single player campaigns were hurt because developers put too much focus on unnecessary multiplayer components. *Cough*BioShock 2 *Cough* | 10/26/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Next Gen News - Episode #82 | Welcome back to a new episode of Next Gen News, CraveOnline’s weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Joey Davidson, Alex Keen, Mike White and myself, Erik Norris. This week’s show sees us cover the pros and cons of the mighty marketing machine. We use Batman: Arkham City as our platform, explaining why such a heavy marketing push can be both a blessing and a curse. We then take some time to talk about how frustrating retailer-specific pre-order DLC is. Why, oh why do we have to buy games from multiple outlets to get the full experience? Lastly, we discuss what Nathan Drake and $5 foot longs have in common. Yup, we cast a wide net this week. | 10/12/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

One of the Guys
Next Gen News is one of the podcast I look forward to the most each week. They do a great job with gaming news, info & reviews but thats not the real magic behind this podcast. The hosts Erik Norris, Joey Davidson, Mike White & Alex Keen have such a kinship that while listening, it honestly gives you the feeling of not just hearing friends talk about video games, but hearing YOUR friends talk about video games. You can't beat a podcast that makes you feel like one of the guys when you listen.
