Episode 7.56 – Super Bowl 46 Recap | The guys are beat down and the last ones standing on Radio Row in Indianapolis. The great folks at the JW Marriott were nice enough to hook the power back up so the guys could record a final podcast from the Indy and talk about Super Bowl 46. The show is only 25 minutes long, but that’s because we really needed to get out of our location. Jeff and Steven agree that it was a fantastic game and that the city of Indianapolis has earned the right to host another Super Bowl in their fantastic town. There were awesome and great hosts that threw great parties, and it ending with a great game. The Giants are champions once again and Jeff says that folks can no longer deny Eli of elite status. Steven says he will wait until Eli’s complete body of work is finished, but that he certainly will not be calling him “Happy Feet” anymore. Giants 21 – Patriots 17 and it was a great way to end the season. | 2/6/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.55 – Heading to Indy | Yes, it’s a short show, but as the guys are getting ready to head out to Indy, even with their hectic schedules, they were able to sneak this show in before they leave to cover Super Bowl 46 for Sky Sports News Radio and Sky Sports News. They mainly focus on current NFL News and get bogged down with the Colts and Buccaneers new coaching hires. Neither of the guys likes the Bucs hiring of Greg Schiano. This hire is the same as keeping Raheem Morris as their coach. Steven says it might even be worse since Schiano may not have the NFL coaching tree to help him out. Both guys do not expect much from the Buccaneers next year. As far as the Colts hiring Chuck Pagano (Ravens DC) as their new head coach, Jeff feels strongly that QB Peyton Manning will be out the door. Jeff thinks Colts owner Jim Irsay will be able to spin the release of Manning by saying that Manning did not want to restructure his deal. The Irsay and Manning ordeal has just begun. | 1/27/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.54 – Championship Recap | What a weekend of football. Super Bowl 46 is set and its a rematch of Super Bowl 42 as the Giants and Patriots both escaped with victories thanks to the 49ers and Ravens special teams units. Steven says he aches for the losing teams but was left with an uneasy feeling knowing the games were not won on heroic plays but rather lost with horrible plays. Steven says he is not excited for this match up, until Jeff reminds him that he is going to the Super Bowl and is one of the luckiest guys on the planet. Steven says he will have a great time covering the Super Bowl but is not looking forward to covering the Patriots and Giants players as they will not be as fun as Packers and Giants players, they will get rehearsed and canned answers. In discussing the games, the guys agree that Joe Flacco out played Tom Brady but Billy Cundiff’s miss was just wrong. Steven goes on record saying he would never have his season end on the foot of a kicker, not even if the kicker for 100 fro 100 from 32-yards out. Jeff makes the case that Eli Manning has earned elite status and nobody will be able to deny him if he gets his second Super Bowl ring. Finally, Steven feels for the 49ers and says that the NFC West needs to watch out as this team is going to be around for a long time. | 1/23/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.53 – Championship Preview | The guys are all pumped up and ready for Championship Weekend. What could be better than one Sunday with two games and the outcome determines who goes to Super Bowl 46. The guys talk about T.O. being shunned by the NFL and heading to the Indoor Football League, Steve Spagnuolo becoming the defensive coordinator in New Orleans, Chris Mara of the Giants missing his first Giants game in 40 years to attend the Golden Globes, and Bears RB Matt Forte suggests he might hold out if Bears use franchise tag. The guys are joined by Ravens nose tackle Terrence Cody who talks about watching the Alabama/LSU National Championship game with friends at home because of having practice, owning and breeding dogs for his dog kennel, looking for double teams when the Patriots run the ball and the Ravens having confidence going into this game against the Patriots. One the Ravens will not be is afraid of playing New England. Finally, the guys discuss both games and make their picks. Steven is a bit surprised that he and Jeff had made the same picks for this weekends games. Should make for an interesting Championship Sunday! | 1/19/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.52 – Divisional Recap | The guys have returned from San Francisco and have some great stories to share about the Saints/49ers Divisional Round game. In NFL News, the guys discuss the Rams announcing Jeff Fisher as their new head coach and also stealing DC Greg Williams away from New Orleans. John Elway says Tim Tebow will be the starting QB heading into training camp next year, while longtime NFL coach Mike Martz announces his retirement. The guys then discuss the four Divisional Round Playoff games. They spend plenty of time on the 49ers/Saints game since they were actually there covering the game for Sky Sports and Sky Sports News Radio. Guys talk about heading down to the field for the final Saints drive and the final 49ers drive and were standing behind the end zone when TE Vernon Davis made his game winning catch. Steven congratulates QB Tom Brady for tying the postseason record of most TD passes thrown as he torched the Broncos with 6 TD passes. Tim Tebow train is derailed and the guys are a little happy about that. Finally, Steven says the Texans outplayed the Ravens with the exception of the turnover category, but also says Ed Reed is the man and can play ball until he is 50 and in a wheel chair! Jeff is a little sad to see “his Gold team” lose to the Giants, but Steven says he knew it was going to happen all along. Both guys went 3-1 with their Divisional Round picks. | 1/16/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.51 – Divisional Preview | The guys are getting ready to head to San Francisco to cover the 40ers/Saints game but get you ready for all four Divisional Round Playoff games with this episode. The guys talk about Jeff Fisher not being ready to make a decision between the Rams or the Dolphins and Bill Cowher says he has been contacted by several teams but he is not interested. The guys talk about some of the collegiate players that have declared their intentions for the NFL Draft. As Steven promised in the last episode, he has wrangled up not one but two player interviews for the show. 49ers LB Blake Costanzo discusses his days playing in Germany and the great Special Teams unit in San Francisco, while Giants CB Prince Amukamara talks about his affinity for Pippa Middleton and the guys say they will pull some strings to see if they can get him a tweet or something. The guys then get around to talking about the four Divisional games and Steven points out that this is the 1st time in NFL history that 4 Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks play in this round, Eli Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. Gonna be tough for the other four QBs. Jeff and Steven differ on two of the games this weekend. Jeff is rolling with all four home teams, while Steven likes the Giants and Texans on the road. The guys would like to thank SSNR for allowing their interviews of Prince and Blake to run on the podcast. | 1/12/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.50 – Wild Card Recap | The guys go over the Wild Card Weekend madness, where nothing was wild, until the last game. In NFL News, the guys talk about the Chargers staying in San Diego for the 2012 season by not opting out of the stadium contract. Romeo, O Romeo! Wherefore art thou, Romeo! The guys tell you, he’s in Kansas City as the Chiefs and Romeo Crennel agree to a 3-year contact making Romeo the Chiefs head coach. And finally the guys talk about the sad missing persons case that Packers OC Joe Philbin is missing his 21-year old son, Michael. In the Wild Card recaps, the guys both go 2-2 as Jeff took the Texans in the first game and Steven missed out on the Bengals. All four home teams won for only the third time since 1990. The Saints routed the Lions and Steven has some harsh words for Lions Head Coach Jim Schwartz, saying he needs to stop being a sore loser. Steven gets the Giants pick correctly and thinks they might beat the Packers in Green Bay and finally, what about that Tim Tebow, huh? Steven was fascinated that the Steelers dared Tebow to throw against them and for 4 quarters he did not take the bait. But on the 1st play of Overtime, Tebow made them pay with an bullet to WR Demaryius Thomas for an 80-yard touchdown pass. Are the guys going to start believing in Tebow? Listen and find out. | 1/9/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.49 – Wild Card Preview | The guys are excited that the Playoffs are here and get you ready for the four games on Wild Card Weekend. In NFL news, Steven and Jeff discuss the Chargers firing of defensive coordinator, Greg Manusky and promoting John Pagano, the Jets fining Bart Scott 10k for an obscene gesture at a reporter and Jeff Fisher going all over interviewing at the head coaching vacancies in Miami and St. Louis. The guys are joined by NFL BMOC West Coast and LA Times NFL writer, Sam Farmer. Sam talks about all four Wild Card games while in Denver for the Broncos/Steelers game. Sam thinks the Broncos will have their hands full, the Siants/Lions game will be a shoot-out and he even gives us his NFL MVP vote. Finally, the guys get their picks in for Wild Card Weekend. They agree on three of the four games as they both like the road teams in the AFC and the Saints, while they disagree on the Falcons/Giants game. Steven likes New York while Jeff is rolling with Atlanta. | 1/5/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.48 – Week 17 Recap | That does it now, all 17 weeks are in the books and another regular season comes to an end. Jeff and Steven discuss some of the casualties of the season as the Rams fire head coach Steve Spagnuolo and GM Bill Devaney, Tampa Bay fires head coach Raheem Morris and his staff, Colts owner Jim Irsay fire the Polians and the Bears fire GM Jerry Angelo while OC Mike Martz resigns. Most of those were expected, but what wasn’t, was the Chargers keeping both AJ Smith and Norv Turner. The guys are joined in by Comcast SportsNet Bay Area 49ers Reporter Mindi Bach to discuss the 49ers unexpected 13-3 season. Mindi believes that the addition of a few players plus the play of QB Alex Smith helped the 49ers to that record and the number 2 seed in the NFC. Steven agrees with Mindi that it would best for the 49ers to get the Giants or Falcons in the Divisional round but most likely will get the Saints. Listen to the entire episode in this podcast, or here. Finally the guys finish talking about the final games of the season. There were lots of highs and of course plenty of lows, but the guys say, bring on the Playoffs. | 1/3/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.47 – Week 17 Preview | The guys get you ready for the final week of the regular season! Steven invites Professor Playoffs into the Rave Cave for a little playoff scenario recap, but Jeff still has it in for the guy and he quickly leaves. In NFL News, the guys discuss Colt McCoy still not being cleared to play, the Pro Bowl rosters being released and what’s at stake in the final week of the season. The guys differ on a season high 8 games. Is it because Steven is chasing Jeff or because they really fell that differently about the picks. Jeff changes his stance on the Cowboys/Giants game, and Steven feels that the Broncos will take care of business against the Chiefs. Finally, the guys wish everyone a Happy New Year and will be back next year! | 12/29/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.46 – Week 16 Recap | The guys come back from the Christmas Holidays and are ready for some serious Week 17 action. In the news, Steven does not like what Giants RB Brandon Jacobs had to say to Jets head coach Rex Ryan after the Jets/Giants game. Steven feels it was disrespectful, no matter how or why it was said. Jeff feels that Aaron Rodgers is ready to be MVP after throwing for 5 touchdown passes against the Bears, but Steven says Drew Brees might have something to say about that. With all of the great games in Week 16, Steven says he happy about how the season has played out, but sad that it is almost over. The guys talk about the greatest TD of all time in where Bengals WR Jerome Simpson vaulted into the end zone over the Cardinals LB Washington to score a TD and stuck the landing ala Mary Lou Retton. The guys are disappointed that the Chargers laid an egg in Detroit, but are happy for the Lions making the playoffs. Steven says that either feline team in the post-season, be it Lions or Bengals will pose a threat to whomever they face. Finally, Steven says that somehow the Challenge Games were fixed this year, as there were too many close games that killed him in the end, like the Colts beating the Texans in the final seconds of the game. | 12/26/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.45 – Week 16 Preview | As the guys have their Annual Rants & Raves Network Christmas Party, they decide to record the Week 16 Preview podcast. First they want to wish everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and they ask to forgive anything they say in this show as they might have been a little, well… Anyways, in NFL News, the guys discuss James Harrison not happy with the league for giving the Cleveland Browns a pass on how they handled Colt McCoy’s concussion. They also share some nice family Christmas stories. In getting to the games, the guys differ on five games. Jeff makes Steven pick a challenge game even though there is nothing left to play for, so Steven takes the Texans to beat the Colts on Thursday Night Football. Episode 7.44 – Week 15 Recap | The guys are tired as they return from their day trip to San Francisco to cover the Monday Night Football game between the 49ers and the Steelers. They have some great stories regarding the two power outages that delayed the game multiple times. Young man Jordan Ellis joins his dad and uncle Steven to talk about the Week 15 games. Jordan and Steven have some fun at Jeff’s expense as Steven finished the week at 11-5 and Jeff ends the week at 8-8. However Jeff points out that he is the smartest man alive and now the 2011 Challenge Game Champion. Jeff asks that anyone with punishment ideas for Steven to email them in. Steven however says that he will not record any punishments until September and the guys let him know that just means that leaves more time for Jeff’s twisted mind to work. Finally, the guys recap all Week 15 games and are certain that the final two weeks of the season are going to provide some great football. | 12/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.43 – Week 15 Preview | Guys get you ready for Week 15 as they head out to San Francisco for Monday Night Football. In a fast and furious tangent filled show, Steven questions Jeff about the Packers going for a perfect 19-0. Steven feels the Packers will end up being disappointed if they try, while Jeff says they have to go for it. The guys send their well wishes to Wade Phillips who will be taking some time away from the Texans for a medical leave of absence. In the games, the guys show that they can’t run a 4 minute offense or even a two minute offense as Steven says the Patriots will destroy Tim Tebow and the Broncos to put slow down and put a damper on the Tebow parade. They only disagree on four games as Jeff quickly jumped off the Chargers when Steven was going to make it the Challenge Game. Jeff knows, one more win and it’s over. Meanwhile, Steven says he guarantees the Cowboys make the playoffs and Jeff wants him to bet $100 and Steven shows growth by not taking the bet. There is a side bet that involves Ndamukong Suh. Finally, Steven picks the Bears to beat Seattle in Soldier Field and locks it in as the Challenge Game. | 12/14/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.42 – Week 14 Recap | The guys recap a wild Week 14 where 5 teams erased 12+ point deficits to record wins and Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos get their 3rd overtime win over the Chicago Bears. Steven says he is disappointed in himself for letting Jeff threaten him out of a pick, the Eagles but with a win from the Giants, Jeff’s magic number is one! In injury news, Packers WR Greg Jennings suffered a knee sprain and looks to miss some time but should be back for the playoffs, Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray is lost for the season with an ankle fracture, the Jets S Jim Leonard will also miss the rest of the season with a knee injury and Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith suffered chest pains and did not make the flight back with the Falcons, but thankfully he seems to be OK now. Episode 7.41 – Week 14 Preview | The guys get you ready for the 16 games of Week 14 and only differ on three games. Steven asks Jeff if he is starting to get nervous about the Challenge Game with back to back losses, but Jeff is still feeling pretty good about his position. In NFL News, Steven asks Archie Manning to stop meddling with the Colts and Peyton Manning. Archie has come out and said that neither Peyton nor Andrew Luck will be happy if the Colts draft Luck with the No. 1 pick. Steven says Archie already meddled for Eli, but he needs to leave the Colts alone regarding Peyton. Brett Favre releases a statement on his website saying he is done with the NFL and does not have any plans to come out of retirement. Furthermore, he has not contacted any teams and NO teams have contacted him so just leave him be. The guys agree it is time to let sleeping dogs lie and promise to HWMNBN Favre if he is mentioned again in the NFL news cycle. Safety Antrel Rolle says Giants, “Without a doubt. Without a doubt. We will be in that postseason.” To which Steven reminds everyone that Rolle said the same thing last year when late in the season and the Giants failed to make the playoffs last season. Finally, the guys are only differing on three games this week. NYG @ DAL – NO @ TEN – ATL @ CAR — Jeff is taking all three underdogs in New York, Tennessee and Carolina but Steven urges him to make the Cowboys/Giants game and Jeff obliges. Jeff has the Giants and Steven is sticking with Dallas. | 12/7/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7. 40 – Week 13 Recap | Plenty of craziness in the Week 13 Recap show. First the Packers and 49ers have clinched their respective divisions. Steven claims to have become objective regarding the Cowboys and says that they are really a 3-9 team in a 7-5 record saying they are Rosanne Barr in Jennifer Aniston’s body. The guys quickly share some war stories from the winds that knocked the power out of the Rave Cave for five days, but they also take a look at all 15 games played. Jeff agreed that due to the excruciating circumstances and the fact that Josh Freeman did not play in the game against the Panthers, the Challenge Game would be voided. Then he decided to change his pick to Jacksonville and make tonight’s Monday Night Football game the Week 13 Challenge Game. Jeff is very confident in the rest of his picks and Steven is just grateful for the change. Plus hear Jeff’s, this day in history. | 12/5/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.39 – Week 13 Preview | Getting ready for the stretch run to the playoffs, the guys take a look at Week 13. Steven is being careful with his picks as Jeff gets to pick the Challenge Game this week. The guys are not excited about Thursday Night’s Game between the Eagles and the Seahawks though Steven likes Philadelphia and Jeff likes Seattle. In NFL News, the guys discuss Ndamukong Suh appealing his suspension. There are also plenty of thumbs in the NFL news, including Jay Cutler saying his surgery might end his season, Josh Freeman blaming a gun mishap for his thumb problems and Von Miller having surgery on his thumb. Finally the guys get to the 16 games of Week 13 and only differ on 2 games. Steven tried to get out of the Buccaneers vs Panthers game as the Challenge Game, but Jeff would have none of that. Jeff has Carolina while Steven is left with Tampa Bay. | 11/30/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Episode 7.38 – Week 12 Recap | The guys return from the Thanksgiving Holiday a little rested and take a look back at the weekend’s games. Jeff calls Week 12 as the week that cannot be characterized since it was a pretty weird week. Steven and Jeff start the show with an insta-RANT before the intro gets played, and Steven rips into Ndamukong Suh. Then they discuss Bills WR Steve Johnson’s endzone celebration mocking Jets WR Plaxico Burress and WR Santonio Holmes and drawing a penalty which helped cost the Bills the game. Steven also has a problem with Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe not reaching up to try and catch the ball in the Chiefs/Steelers game. Finally, with the previous podcast unfinished, there is a disagreement on the Challenge Game, but Jeff says he feels no pressure and gives Steven the Rams/Cardinals game as the Challenge Game. Due to some technical difficulties, the show was not available to be posted on Wednesday night, but here it is in all its glory. Except for the final 5+ minutes. You will hear the show just fade and stop, that’s because there was a computer mishap. On Thanksgiving, Jeff went 3-0 taking Green Bay, Dallas and Baltimore, while Steven finished turkey day 1-2, only getting Dallas right and missing on Detroit and San Francisco. Here are those picks along with picks for the other 13 games. Plus the guys discuss some of the latest QB changes. | 11/26/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

awsomeness
Well i got a ipod nano for christmas and i went through the podcasts looking for some good sports ones and i ended up suscribing to espn and you guys and i think you guys are great and espn is now long gone and you are the only one i listen to and i hope you keep doing your podcasts even in the off season. Its defenitly worth the wait off how long it takes to download lol.
I've tried, I really have...
But, these guys are terrible. I'm sorry, 90-90% of their stuff is garbage. They tip the scales at annoying. I've listened to a number of the episodes hoping it would get better and it just hasn't. Their knowledge of the NFL is limited - they can't even get names of players right, their biasses are way too obvious and they talk too much about stuff other than the NFL. I'm not sure what some of these other reviewers are listening to or expecting, but if you want good, in-depth assessments or information, this is not the show for you. The need to shorten the shows, talk less about their personal lives and stop interjecting stupid audio clips and Jeff's microphone needs more modulation - he gets loud and the meter must be way up in the red. Now, I'm getting off on a tangent like they do. Bottom line is this, they're two guys who know about as much about football as the average NFL fan. They're not very entertaining and not very insightful.
GREAT! ITS INFORMATIVE AND FUNNY!!!
A great NFL talk show! Its very informative and the guys keep it alive with their jokes! They are VERY funny and at the same time cover all you want to know about whats going on in football.
