Used to be better
This show has changed from a short (ten minutes or less) summary of the day's economic news to a longer show featuring interviews with various people. The interviews aren't bad, but they sometimes drag on. It's still a good show, but it was better when it was a quick summary of economic news.
good reporting but very skewed
I get a kick out of their ongoing coverage of the mortgage crisis. Every episode is the same story: the locksmith who changes locks on foreclosed properties, the guy who drives the foreclosure tour bus, a carpenter who boards up windows, etc. They seem to be relishing this failure of the capitalist system. One time they were covering laid off mill workers and one of the women made some optimistic comments on her future plans, needless to say the reporter changed the topic very quickly as that did not match the NPR agenda.
Not Great
The hosts seem to be beginners in matters of finance and the economy.
