Podcast Description

A weekly series about me, Randy Thompson, nabbing my friends and assorted anime nerds from Skype and Twitter to talk about a plethora of anime and manga series. Funny, insightful, and informative. Well, I'm at least striving for entertaining here.

On behalf of all who use headphones

I'm noticing this big trend with podcasts who use skype to record having one voice in one ear then another in the other back and forth. This is just painful to the listener with headphones. If you edit using audacity just take the two stereo tracks and convert th to mono and it will remedy this. Other than that I think the show has some potential.

Depends on who's there.

I like this podcast when the host manages to find people who...
1. Actually want to be on the show.
AND
2. Are interested in deeper discussion about the series.

A warning: Episode 7, the one about Yu Yu Hakusho, does NOT follow 1 and 2 above. This was the first episode I listened to, and I was about to hate this podcast because of it, but then I began to listen to other episodes. I found that depending on the guests invited to the show, the show is either entertaining or boring as all get-out. If you want to listen to some better episodes, I recommend the Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist ones. The panel on those shows is pretty diverse, and they made the show fun to listen to.

Don't expect deep discussion about any series these guys review. They're here to give an overview on why they liked the series and various points of interest they had. That's about it. However, sometimes the guests tend to get into deeper discussion (WHICH I LOVE) and the host follows along.

I know this podcast is just starting out, and I have high hopes for it, but right now it's so-so. If the host would try a little harder to keep the show on-topic and offer a little more substance in the conversations, that would be really great. Also, please fix your audio! It hurts your listeners' ears when they hear one voice in one ear and another in the other ear!

That's about it. I recommend a few episodes of this podcast so far, and I hope it gets better from here. Good luck! :)

Amazing!
