Constructive Criticism

Having followed Eckhart's teachings since Power of Now was published, and seeing him live a couple of times, I have a few quick comments regarding the first live presentation: 1) thanks for publishing this on iTunes, which helps overcome my comments in #2, as well as allowing a broader audience 2) during the original oprah.com broadcast, in Vancouver, WA we (and friends in other homes) encountered stuttering transmission about 5 minutes into the show, and ended up turning it off (thats why I have downloaded it today from iTunes). 3) the "mix" of Eckhart and Oprah is a difficult one. Commercialism of spirituality is a challenging blend of message versus exposure. I appreciate the fact that Tolle's message is getting to a much larger and broader audience with Oprah's help. That is fantastic. A big challenge is in the difference in styles. Oprah must feel a need to keep it snappy, because thats the way TV is. Eckhart is in another space; one of centered calm serenity. His words come slowly partly because they need to come slowly to enhance easier passage into the moment/now. There is no need to sell, no need to push. So, at times it becomes Oprah's 100 words to Eckhart's 10. Its difficult to balance!! All in all, though, it was a good start. The Q&As are good. Oprah, be present during the discussions and don't worry about keeping it snappy. Flow into the now comes naturally and without pushing. I really appreciate your helping to get these messages to a broader audience. Eckhart, just be you ... tv-celebrity-ville is a strange chaotic hectic place, but despite any technical difficulties or being suddenly packaged in a commercialized environment, your message IS getting through. Awakening is.

A New Earth

Oprah, With all due respect I must ask this of you. Would you please allow Mr. Tolle to speak more during the classes. I know how exciting this must be for you but Eckhart is the one who should be doing the most talking/teaching. I am so grateful to you for this and everything else you have done and are doing. You are Blessed and will be Blessed even more for all that you do. In Love and Appreciation! Baba

For those of you on the fence about delving into a 'new-age-y' type of self-help book or are having trouble getting through the first few pages my advice would be to give it a good chapter or two. It took me that long to get into the rhythm and sort out some of the messages and it's worth it once you do. I have a feeling it's the kind of book I'll have hanging around to re-read and think about because there is so much info that you don't get it all at once. Definitely worth a try - and all it costs is a little time, a few bucks for the book and getting yourself to use your brain a bit more than we are all sometimes accustomed to.
