| 54 | VideoSession: "Once Upon a Time: Telling Your Story Digitally" Christopher Whitlatch | Once Upon a Time: Telling Your Story DigitallyOnce upon a time, we did not have FlipCams and video editing software to make videos easily. Once upon a time, we did not have Twitter, Facebook, YouTube or podcasts to distribute our stories easily. It may be easier to make and tell your story today, but digital storytellers can lean a lot from stories that have come before, from the campfire to Luke Skywalker to the Story of Stuff and beyond. This session will take a look at how we can better tell our stories, business or personal, using digital tools.Christopher Whitlatch is Manager of Marketing and Communications for The Pittsburgh Foundation, the 15th largest community foundation in the country. He joined the Foundation in April 0f 2009 and has directed the Foundation’s online and social media activities since that time. Previously, he founded UniversalWit, a digital media consulting company and is the creator of several on-line and alternate reality games. In May, the Foundation launched Pittsburgh on Video a community video hub that is part of the Miro Community. Christopher serves as the first curator of content for the site. ;http://www.pittsburghonvideo.org. | 10/11/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

| 63 | VideoBlogging 201 | It’s easy to start a personal blog. Those first few weeks can be exhilarating as you tell the world all those stories you’ve been saving, share your genius with the entire internet, and reveal all those dark secrets that have been trying to bust out of your closet. But the novelty can wear off, and then what? It can be hard to continuously find topics worthy of a blog post. This session will discuss some tactics that can be used to find fodder in every day life and, perhaps, rejuvenate your enthusiasm for blogging.Michelle is a New York-born Pittsburgher who grew up in North Dakota and has discovered that she is really quite terrible at remembering much of anything beyond the names of those states. As a result, she blogs at burghbaby.com where she documents life with a preschooler, a husband, a menagerie of animals. Amidst the chaos of working full-time and maintaining some sort of order at home, she manages to find time for a little photography and a whole lot of social media. | 9/27/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
