beware...

i had stumbled upon rob bell at a youth worker's conference. he was well-presented and is a great speaker. very persuasive. nooma videos are well done, however some of his interpretations don't seem like they line up with the scripture, and look more and more like a naive outlook on theology. after reading the first two chapters of his book "velvet elvis", i had to put it down upon the comparison of christian doctrine to trampoline springs. they are flexible, and can even be removed without breaking the trampoline. he also stated that we need to recreate theology accordingly to the needs of a rising culture. i am sorry, but doctrine is the solid foundation of the bible, it cannot be transformed into something its not, just because a man thinks that it needs to be more appealing to other people. it is what it is, and the bible meant the same thing now as it did before you were even here on this earth, rob. and with that, i say, be careful with some of his stuff. always take it back to the bible, the TRUTH

Why?

I don't agree with a lot of what Rob Bell says when it comes to deep theology. However, I do love these nooma videos. My problem is that there is no point to subscribing. Why do I want to see 2 minutes of the video? They want you to slap down the 10 bucks to get one of the videos. Don't waste your time.

Amazing and Deep, but put the entire video on iTunes!!

Rob Bell is one of the best christian speakers i've heard, but the "free preview" podcast whets your appetite for NOOMA without offering to satisfy it! Price isn't a problem, i'd pay a lot but it isn't there!
