A Buffy Podcast For Everyone!
Whether you are new to the Buffy series or a Sunnydale Alumni you will love this podcast. GAKS does a great job of bringing a fresh perspective to the Buffy series in a fun and entertaining fashion. I think its great to hear the enthusiasm from the hosts that are seeing the series for the first time in spite of the fact that some consider Season 1 to be the weakest of the series.
This podcast is a must for any Buffy fan, I wish them all the best and look forward to many more episodes.
Good fresh twist on a Buffy podcast
This podcast is an episode by episode discussion of the cult classic TV series Buffy The Vampire Slayer. There are a couple of other podcasts that do this, the Hellmouth Podcast and The Watchercast, both of which I recommend highly, but this one is a little different.
One of the hosts, Stephanie, has seen Buffy and was enthusiastic enough about it to want to do her own podcast. The other three hosts have seen little or nothing of the series, so you are getting to hear their reactions the first time through, which I find fascinating. Stephanie does a good job of giving general advice of what is to come without spoiling specifics. The other three hosts are open minded enough to give Buffy a chance. Some have seen the movie and expect something similarly campy, or expect a teen series, maybe along the lines of Beverly Hills 90210. My favorite comment was that it wouldn't be as good as Lost (think again!).
After a few episodes, they are warming to the clever dialogue and starting to appreciate some of the characters, but the most significant character development, new character introductions, and plot twists are yet to occur, and I can't wait to hear the reactions to them.
YAY Buffy Goodness
Listen to three newbies and vet of the Buffyverse talk about each episode in detail as three of the hosts watch for the first time. Any Buffy fan will love this podcast as it captures a lot of the feelings we had when first watching the show and some new points of view watching it so long after the release. NO SPOILERS :)
