Friends, Some pastor-teachers are full of "passion". Sure they're fun to listen to, but to quote Chuck Colson "they're a mile wide and an inch deep." Not exactly a definition of the kind of devotion to Jesus Christ I want the teachers of God's WORD that I spend time with to have tacked onto them. I mean, "passion" is great, but it can easily be a cover-up for "true spiritual insight and depth". Some other pastor-teachers are "profound". But so is Ayn Rand, but unless Objectivist Philosophy floats you're boat, reading her books will put you to sleep quicker than a Lunesta. And when it comes to pastor-teachers, "profundity" is oftentimes a cover-up for actual "depth of relationship with God". So, "profundity", much like "passion" is pretty over-rated. But pastor-teacher Bob Yandian’s "passion" is rooted in his desire to be a mature/maturing follower of Jesus Christ … and the fact that his teaching is "profound" is a simple bi-product of the fact that he's spent a lifetime studying God's WORD. He's a student first, and a pastor-teacher second. And this posture of humility has served both him and his flock well. And when Bob opens up God's WORD and teaches it verse-by-verse, it doesn't take long for those listening to see that he's committed not just to knowledge (the taking in of God's WORD), but to understanding (the wrestling with, chewing up and digesting of God's WORD), and to wisdom (the living out of God's WORD). I'm not related to Bob Yandian, I don't go his church, and I'm not trying to win favor with him in any way through this review. But I can say without a doubt that God has used Bob's faithful study and teaching of the Bible to move me forward in my commitment to take on more and more of the family-likeness of Jesus Christ, so that I can then begin to live out the will of God in ways big and in ways small. And for that I will always be thankful. I can do without Bob's take on "prosperity stuff" ... but hey, he's from Tulsa, so I tell myself that “He can't help himself.” And besides, except for when I used to go over to my grandma Leona's house for dinner as a kid, I can't remember a time when I went over to somebody else's house for a meal and liked everything on the table. So I'm okay with moving past some angles of Bob's teaching that I don't sit well with. I'd encourage you to listen to Bob's Podcast ... and then go to his website and check out his CDs, tapes and books. He's the real deal, and I'm glad God brought him across my path many years ago now. Godspeed. read.think.pray.live. Gregg Lamm www.stayingthecourse.blogspot.com

Excellent teaching

Bob Yandian is a very deep, anointed and practical teacher of the Word. I would like to have his teachings also in Spanish (my native language)

Thank you for the great teachings.

I'm so glad that the podcasts are here and easily accessible. Since I don't have SkyAngel anymore, and I'm not even sure you are on there any longer....well, it was nice to be able to get your teachings here in one spot, and I can download them to my MP3 Player and enjoy them anytime. I have always loved your teaching 'style'...it's just excellent, and deep. I'd love to see you carry your Sunday service on the Christian TV slots, either Daystar, which I can access, or TBN, or even our local station in Albuquerque/SantaFe Channel 11. It's really enjoyable to actually see the service in progress...and not just listen. Something I hope you will consider whenever it is possible to expand the TV ministry. In the meantime, thank you so much for the podcasts!! Blessings to you!! Keep up the great work!
