Excellent!

In an age where the faculty of reason has been shoved out the door, it's refreshing to hear an advocate for sound thinking and good medicine

snidely whiplash

this is a very clever, amusing, thoughtful, cynical journey through the mythology of pseudo science and magical thinking. Dr Crislip has the courage to ask the obvious questions of "alternative medicine" that is asked of allopathic medicine routinely... how does that treatment work.. how do you know... why does it work that way.. what is the scientific basis ? This series dares to abandon the politically correct and presumed "open minded" inclusion of what are, really, whacko ideas. He challenges the defenders of these cults to simply enter the same skeptical world of science in the current century and prove his rejection of fairytails is unfounded. Just prove it! The essays are not just rants of opinion, but an entertaining look at the scientific evidence (or lack of) for non-allopathic methods and treatments. His intellegent, thoughtful and quite scholarly investigation of these topics is presented with a kind of a back of the classroom irreverence and dry wit. check it out..you'll be entertained and might learn something... like .. don't believe everything you hear!

Grade A dissemination of Quackery

This is a very enjoyable podcast, chock full of information about the new snake-oil peddlers of the 21st century. Like many of the podcasts I enjoy, there's never a new episode often enough for me!!
