Good For People Who Do Not Know Any Russian

Perhaps if you do not know any Russian this would be good for you. Being a student in Russian 1, I did not find these podcasts to be very useful because I already knew all the phrases. However, before I took a class in Russian, or knew very much about the language, I listened to a couple other podcasts which I found worthwhile--Speaking Russian and The Russian Sound System. I greatly recommend both of these. The Russian Sound System helped me a lot with pronunciation. Also, for those who do not know Russian and have an iPod touch or iPhone, iLingo Russian is available in the Application Store. It is ten dollars, which I would consider a little high. On the other hand, if you're interested in learning a little more than "hello" and "thank you", but have no need to really study the language, I think it is a good investment. iLingo includes a variety of categories such as 'Hotel', 'Getting Around', 'Local Speak'. Each word or phrase is shown in cyrillic with pronunciation and is spoken for you to hear.

.

Extemely helpful in teaching basic Russia phrases. I only wish they wouldn't have the one minute intro before every podcast.
