Anniversary Show 2 - Bill Slawski and the future of Search | This week as part of our anniversary extravaganza we have one of, if not THE most interesting and influential people in my career in search; Bill Slawski (best known for his blog; SEO by the Sea) Bill is one of the most noted search geeks in the history of the industry and was really one of the reasons I not only stayed in SEO, but grew a fascination with the inner working of search in general. I have known him for many years now and have been salivating for the chance to have him on the show and start getting uber-geeky. Today we'll be talking about the future of search, social search and even fielding a few questions we got from the social stream. It should be a great one, so let's get things rolling! Happy Anniversary Dojo Radio! Search Geeks Speak is basically Terry and I going through our Rolodex and lining up the people we'd most like to interview about Search. Search Geeks has also put together some discussion panels that are unequaled. To all past and Future guests of the show a big hat tip because you people are the ones who make this show what it is. Dave and I? Just along for the ride! Besides those below we'd like to acknowledge Danny Sullivan who was on the first show and in subsequent episodes it's been a who's who of SEO like Mike Grehan, Jonathon Allan, Tim Nash, Hamlet Batista Lee Odden, Nichola Stott and a growing list of future and present notable. Terry and I could not mention this anniversary without a special holla' out for our Dojo Sister Debra Mastaler who has not only helped with getting guests but also the odd excellent guest suggestion. Thanks Debra! Sometimes I wonder about my friends and then I see you come online and remember why it's worth the bother! Debra is just one of the reasons the Dojo is the place that it is... there's others as well but she has been by far and away our biggest supporter and cheerleader! WOW! SEO Dojo Radio is One yr. old! | What started out as Dave and I shootin' the s**t wid' "link automater extraordinaire" Rob "Contempt" Adler and taping it evolved into two podcasts and growing. I am thinking about another show on a platform to be named later. Might not even be SEO related. As we know that first show was just the start of something that has continued to evolve with the addition of Justin Parks Social Media Consultant and Feydakin AKA Steve Gerencser of Steam Driven Media becoming semi-regulars on the first few shows and official Co-Conspirators in "the Regulators" a few months later! the Regulators "it ain't easy havin' pals!" "the Regulators" name comes from the Movie Young Guns. I'm a bit of a Western movie fan so it wasn't long before the references to it started. Initially the show was referred to internally as the Regs or "the Regulars" then I started calling it "the Regulators" partially cuz it fits our podcast style as we kinda' monitor the SEO news for the usual craphat technique or test or other such nonsense. The Tagline was the original Movie tagline and well it's very true about the four of us! It's in a great kinda' camaraderie where we may argue and make fun of one another... but... I know for me these are friendships I'll have for life! The Regulators: Exploring the Social Graph | This week the Regulators were short a few bodies what with Steve gettin' moved to his new homestead in Tennessee and Justin needin' to take @JakeParks (The WeeMan) to the doctor. Dave and I hopped into the saddle and rode head long into the Social Graph! The journey was an adventure as we explored the ins and outs of of the Social Graph re-ranking results. We explored the connections and came across something we believe no one else has reported. We found connections that went beyond the primary connections and where information was strung together from Google Profiles, the footer of a site and more! +1 SERP Dojo Brand SERP <a href="http://seotrainingdojo.com/SEOtraining.jp | 4/18/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Search Geeks Speak with Heather Lloyd SEO Copywriter and Teacher Extraordinaire! | Today on "Search Geeks Speak" Dave and I had a fantastic interview with my old friend Heather Lloyd. Many years ago a short conversation with Heather set me straight on writing for ecommerce. Our fan reviews on iTunes will be happy to hear there are even a few tips, so... whod' a thunk it!! Heather is one of the most positive people you could meet so it was refreshing for me to discuss standards, classifications as disciplines of SEO and internet marketing. I can also say it was truly a pleasure to discuss her SEO Copywriting course ( I have been reviewing it anonymously for SeoPros for some time ) SEO Certifications and more! The Regulators:The Panda Update Report! | Welcome back to another episode of "The Regulators"! This weeks show was another one dominated by Panda "the Update". This week Terry, Steve and I kicked this around some more looking for clues and sharing what we've found. We kicked off this weeks show with Steve's Forum roundup from the Dojo forums and elsewhere. It seems 301s were a popular topic so we went over 301ing domains and pages. Next we talked about Panda the update and some of the posts coming out on what to do going forward. Terry talked a bit about a video about PR Newswire being hit by the update. Dave shared some info from a Googler on the accuracy of the site operator with a date range to compare indexing and then we had a quick and funny dis on British sites not wanting people to link to them. <a style="color: #e05e19; text-decoration: none;" href="http://www.seroundtable.com/google-rolling-panda-out-13187. | 4/2/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
