Reimagining Church Part 4 | Chapter 4: Reimagining the Gathering Place. In Chapter 4, Frank Viola discusses the home as the normal place of the church gathering (although Jesus may certainly call some to meet in a building.) Viola gives 5 reasons why the early church intentionally met in homes: 1) The home testifies that the people comprise God's House. 2) The home is the natural setting for one-anothering. 3) The home represents the humility of Christ. 4) The home reflects the family nature of the Church 5) The home models spiritual authenticity | 9/16/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Reimagining Church part 2 | Chapter 2, Reimagining the Church Meeting. Viola writes that the 1st Century Church had four types of meetings: 1) Apostolic meetings, 2) Evangelistic meetings, 3) Decision making Meetings, and 4) Church meetings. In this podcast I mostly discuss the regular Church meeting. Viola mentions three aspects of the Church meeting that I see as essential to pursuing organic church life: 1) The Headship of Christ, 2) Every-member functioning, and 3) the Church meeting as a believers meeting | 8/5/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Reimagining Church part 1 | Finally a new podcast! This is the first in a series going through Frank Viola's book Reimagining Church. Each podcast in this series I'll read a section from each chapter. Chapter 1 is titled "Reimagining Church as an Organism." In the section I'm discussing Viola writes that there are four chief paradigms for reimagining the church today: 1) Biblical Blueprintism, 2) Cultural Adaptability, 3) Postchurch Christianity, and 4) Organic Expression. Get which one we prefer :) The first chapter of Reimagining Church is available online here: http://www.reimaginingchurch.org/RC_FirstChapter.pdf As of July 22, 2011 it is also available at Amazon for Kindle for $1.99 here: http://amzn.to/ponNCh *After finishing this podcast I listened to it and realized I've become rusty. I think I said "you know" about 3000 times! Please forgive me, I'll try to do better next time : | 7/22/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

If Only One | Repost. You've probably heard someone say about a ministry and/or program, "If only one person came to the Lord, it was worth it." However the way we judge things by numbers seems to contradict that idea. If only one person came to know Jesus through your house church, would it be worth it | 11/28/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Children and Simple Church | Repost: I did this podcast back in June of 2007. At that time we had three kids in our church, one of them being mine, ages, 4,4, 8 2. Since then we have had up to 10 kids in our church (including our own second child), ranging in age from newborn to 8 years old. I recently listened to this podcast to see if my ideas have changed any over the last two years. My ideas have not changed, but we do have a lot more experience in the whole area of kids or simple church. My wife and I will be doing a new podcast on the subject, and I thought it would be good to repost this episode before we do so | 8/27/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Decision-Making by Consensus | I sometimes hear conventional church people say that consensus governance is impossible. I know by experience that it is not only possible, but wonderfully beneficial. Our house church makes decisions by consensus, and it has been a blessing for us.
