On the real, I would love to go crate-diggin' with my friend again, as the man's got a serious palate for the rare grooves. For the 2nd part of the show our guest decknician, Mason Fisher, brings up the boogie by throwing the throttle straight to Jack. This is usually about the time you step your Freak up anyway, right? This Portland-native is one of the original Hustlers of the twilight set, and most nights you'll usually find her supporting music through her local and our global-scene, in general. Which is sorta how she found BCH, and we found a new Friend - which you can hear all about it in the small interview provided before her guest mix. Gotta love this music scene of ours, Freaks. We may bitch about "back in the day", but when it comes right down to it most of the people I'm meeting these days are from back-in-the-day - possessing the same deep appreciation, love, wonder, and respect for this music that I do. It makes me feel fortunate to meet like-minded Freaks who love to boogie. One Warning: this was done live on air. we are not interview professionals and hold the right to get as 'foolio' as we want. So don't expect any "60 minutes-style" sorta fluff! BCH | Jan 18, 2012 | Scott Diaz | What up, Freaks! This week we welcome DJ/Producer, Scott Diaz, to the BCH booth. Unless you've been under a dance floor, there is no way you could've missed him in the year past. He's been producing and DJing for over a decade, and remixing h.e.a.v.y. for others for just as long. 2011 saw a very productive year for this Englishman on his solo projects for his labels, Solo Traxx and Connect:d, with over 10 releases that include numerous side-projects like, Movi-Starr ft. Lenny Hamilton Jr, just to name one. What makes Scott's music so appealing to the masses is his ability to keep you moving. With influences ranging all across the board, his music is based in Funk, Soul, and Feel-Good - which you can never go wrong with, am I right, Freaks? If 2010-2011's hard work is what we're to go by, this dancer has a BIG feeling that you'll be hearing a lot more from Scott Diaz in 2012 as well. The guy doesn't know what it means to stop! Recorded live at his new years 2012 gig at, Kerfuffle - one of the longest running underground parties thats still moving the London massive over 15 years later (Thanks, Liz Edwards! You're a STAR!) - Nick's passed us a wicked hot bowl of the good stuff. Can I just say that Nick Dare has single-handedly turned my flava' back-on to the deeper side of tech house? His style of dropping science is unique, all his own, and something you can only get from a seasoned vet - behind the decks AND in the studio. And now, instead of looking back, let's looking forward ... 2012 is already promising to be a great year in House Music. I'm personally looking forward to hearing more from artists like J. Paul Getto, Jam Funk, Just Voya, Mark Funk, Steve Dare, Le Babar, Metro Housing Authority, Juan Carlos Herrera, MrHun, Darren McLean, The Black Project, and Freaky Funk. As well as industry staples like Gene Farris, Oliver $, U-Turn, and Phil Weeks (just to name a few). Either way, something tells me that House is finding it's footing once again - and this bitch couldn't be happier! We'll see you next week, Freaks! BCH | Dec 28 2011 | DJ Lady D. | So, a brand new year is at our doorsteps, Freaks ... And 2012 is looking to be a nice "thump" that we can all get-down to. For our BCH New Year's special, we thought we'd treat you to a BCH favorite: Her name is DJ Lady D. and, as I write this, I'm pretty sure she needs no introduction. But for those of you that are new to BCH, I'll kindly give you a bit on her: Lady D. has been a staple on the Chicago scene for over 2 decades; she's a DJ, Producer, Record label owner (D'Lectable Music), Mom, and PR squad captain. The woman doesn't know what it means to slow down, and it's proof when you look at her booking schedule - from Mon-Fri the Lady is booked! Currently, you'll find her juggling gigs between Chicago and the rest of the world during her tour, and believe me when I say we were lucky enough to get this mix from her when we could! Lady D. is a BCH regular and our best is done to ensure she's back at least once a year, Freaks. So you can expect to have her back in the BCH booth in 2012. In the meantime, give her site's a visit and bend your ear in the direction of her podcast - You will not be disappointed! And that's it! Next week BCH will be coming to you from a New Year ... and, personally, I can't wait for it. New Music, new Talent - NEW ways of life - what's not to love about a new year, right?
