Astronomy made fun

Yes, they're goofy. Yes, the science is pretty entry level. But that's what I love about this podcast. The humor is not for everyone, but neither is Monty Python. Travis and Pamela do a great job of making it seem like anyone can understand current theories and research being done in astronomy. And the awful jokes are just right for the drive home. This is one of two podcasts I've bugged all my friends to subscribe to.

On the Bleeding Edge

As a science teacher, Slacker Astronomy is a superb engagement for my students. Furthermore, the show notes provide the necessary depth for those who want to take the next step after the podcast. For those who do not wish to take this step, just sit on the couch and enjoy your weekly dose of astronomy fun. And be careful, you might just learn something cool.

Good times

In an age were most try to sound smart I find Slacker Astronomy rather refreshing. They take the astronomy and place it into a format that is informative, hilarious, and easy to understand. The information that Slacker Astronomy presents is enough to build a foundation on astronomy and glimpse the detailed theories.
