| 1 | VideoHappy Chocolate Day | For the romantics, there is Valentine’s Day, but for the hardcore chocolate lover there is Chocolate Day. On Feb. 9, cocoa consumers have an excuse to indulge [[in? I think you indulge a person/or a craving you indulge in something]] a little extra. Is it actually a holiday? Well, only if you’re paying attention to Twitter, the chocolate industry, or your sweet tooth. But why not? Research suggests chocolate can be good for your heart and reduce blood pressure. It also gives a little endorphin zap to the brain with mood-enhancing Theobromine. Historically cultivated and used by the Aztecs and Mayans, the cocoa bean didn’t enter the European or colonial American diet on a mass scale until the 1800s, when some of the first chocolate companies like Cadbury and Nestlé were started. Now, it’s a global product, and a sweet one at that. | 2/9/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 2 | VideoWill Ferrell’s Hilarious Bulls/Hornets Starting Lineup Introduction | Last night’s Bulls/Hornets NBA game in New Orleans got an extra dose of hilarity when Will Ferrell was brought in to announce the starting line ups. Adding fake facts and insults to the standard Name/Height/Position intros, the star of basketball spoof Semi Pro laid down some real gems. Not a bad way to start the game, considering that without Farrell, the '80s theme night would have only featured a dancing Rubik's cube. The Bulls went on to a 90-67 victory, and Will Ferrell's comic skills will again be on display when he plays a Mexican rancher saving his father’s farm from drug barons in March’s Casa de Mi Padre. | 2/9/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 3 | VideoRussell Brand Doesn’t Want Katy Perry’s Money in Divorce | Could it be possible that chivalry in the celebrity Hollywood world is not extinct? Actor and comedian Russell Brand will reportedly not seek a huge chunk of pop star Katy Perry’s fortune as part of the couple’s divorce—even though he has a legal right to do so. According to TMZ, Brand’s lawyers filed divorce papers this week and notably lacking was an attempt to split up Perry’s $44-million earnings during the marriage, from singing about cherry chapstick and kissing girls and whatnot. Sources tell TMZ there was no prenuptial agreement, and though he’s no pauper, Brand will walk away from the reportedly amicable divorce with a lot less money. More proof that Russell Brand acts better off the big screen than on it. | 2/8/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 4 | VideoGiants’ Brandon Jacobs: Gisele Should Stay Cute and Shut Up | Yes, the Super Bowl is over, but the trash talk and personal fouls continue! Before the game, Tom Brady's supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen asked people to pray for him to win. After the game, she publicly complained about his receivers not being able to catch the ball—defying the long-standing cardinal rule of sports: You're supposed to win as a team, lose as a team. Enter Brandon Jacobs, loudmouthed running back for the Super Bowl winning Giants, who told reporters that Gisele "just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up." Granted, some might say the same of star running backs, but we digress. Was Jacobs statement sexist? Many are saying yes. Was Bundchen's comment unsportsmanlike? Arguably. The game's over folks. Can we all stop talking about it now? Please? | 5 | VideoRandy Travis Found Drunk in Church Parking Lot | North Texas is a long way away from Giants country, but that didn’t stop country singer Randy Travis from celebrating too much. During the wee hours of Monday morning, the Denton County Sheriff’s Department said an officer found Travis sitting in his car next to an open bottle of wine, and smelling like alcohol in the parking lot at the First Baptist Church. At first Travis used the oldest country singer excuse in the book for public intoxication—a fight with this girlfriend. But after a short stay in the Denton County jail, the performer released an apology for “what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl.” At least he didn’t try and say his dog died and his truck broke down. | 2/7/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 6 | VideoLady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball Set Design Released | Mama monster has given all of her little monsters a gift: Lady Gaga has released a sneak preview of the stage design for her upcoming tour, the Born this Way Ball. Gaga tweeted the artist's rendering at midnight, which revealed an elaborate medieval castle replete with a fortress wall that doubles as a runway. She explained the set via Twitter, writing: "To give you a bit of insight on the design of my new tour, the central area within the stage will be known as 'The Monster Pit.' ” She goes on to say that the enclosed area will be reserved for fans with general admission tickets who waited all night and are "dressed to Ball." Gaga released the set design after a strategic build up on Twitter, and perhaps not coincidentally, she's the first earthling (we assume) to hit 18 million followers. | 2/7/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 7 | VideoChrystler’s Popular “It’s Halftime in America” With Clint Eastwood a Hit | As the dust from Super Bowl XLVI settles, fans are taking to the Internet to debate who won. Yes, the New York Giants, but more importantly, who scored the best commercial? Despite costing around $3.5 million for 30 seconds of airtime, many are complaining this year’s ad showing was lackluster. But Chrysler's “It's Halftime in America,” voiced by Clint Eastwood and touting Detroit's rebound from financial ruin, is drawing praise. A sort of follow-up to last year's "Born of Fire" ad featuring Eminem, which was viewed over 20 million times on YouTube, "Halftime in America" uses Chrysler's rebound as a pep-talk for America's economy. After nearly collapsing in 2008, Chrysler was rescued as part of a $12.5 billion bailout headed up by the White House. "This country can't be knocked out with one punch," Eastwood said. "It's halftime America. And our second half's about to begin." Hopefully the second-half of America’s big economic game won’t be as much of a nail-biter. | 2/6/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 8 | VideoJosh Hamilton’s Addiction Goes Public…Again | Battling with addiction is an extremely difficult, and when you’re in the limelight, it can be even harder—just ask outfielder Josh Hamilton. The Texas Ranger All-Star player, who has been outspoken about his struggles with alcoholism and drug addiction, was drinking in a bar on Monday night in Dallas at Sherlock’s Pub & Grill, according to the Dallas Morning News. His teammate Ian Kinsler even showed up for what seemed to be an attempt at bringing Hamilton home, but he was reportedly unsuccessful. It was the second alcohol relapse in three years—an earlier incident of excessive drinking occurred in 2009 in Arizona, forcing Hamilton to speak publicly about his addictions. After being the number one draft pick in 1999, Hamilton missed seasons early in his career because of his alcoholism, but staged a big comeback. Hopefully his team and his family can keep him from having to stage another one. | 2/3/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 9 | VideoAngelo Dundee, Legendary Trainer to Muhammad Ali, Dies at 90 | Muhammad Ali’s legendary trainer Angelo Dundee has died, and the sport of boxing has lost a man who defined what it means to have a guy in your corner. Dundee, who was 90, passed away in his Tampa, Fla. apartment after a brief illness according to the San Francisco Chronicle. He left behind one of the most storied training careers in boxing, having motivated Sugar Ray Leonard to win his biggest match and accompanying heavyweight champ Ali through most of his legendary career. In a bloody and violent sport, Dundee was known for his kindness; a great ambassador for boxing who often said, “It doesn’t cost anything more to be nice.” That may not have always been true for the 1992 boxing hall of fame inductee, who famously motivated Leonard during a fight with Tommy Hearns by yelling, “You’re blowing it son! You’re blowing it!” Leonard came back and won the fight with a knockout. Rest in peace, Angelo. Boxing misses you already. | 2/2/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 10 | VideoCourtney Love Crazier Than Previously Thought, According to Frances Bean Cobain Deposition | A newly released biography of Courtney Love (humorously titled Courtney Comes Clean) contains shocking but predictable revelations from Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Love and grunge god Kurt Cobain. The details, in the form of an unsealed deposition from a 2009 restraining order against Love, include such zingers as Frances’ claim that her mother “basically exists now on ... Xanax, Adderall, Sonata and Abilify, sugar and cigarettes," and that Love’s excessive habits led to the death of two family pets: A dog that ODed on Love’s pills and a cat that became trapped in piles of hoarded fabrics, trash, and paperwork. Love, who fronted the ’90s rock group Hole, is quoted in the book, saying, "I'm sober. I'm fabulous. I have a few character defects, but I'm not dishonorable, and I'm not a liar. I have a good heart." Frances Bean is now a model and artist in L.A. | 2/2/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 11 | VideoBefore Watchmen Series Coming from DC Comics Without Original Creators | Fans of Watchmen are praying to the comic book gods today that prequels can be better than The Phantom Menace. DC Entertainment is expected to unveil a set of seven books leading up to the highly influential Watchmen series—one of the most revered comic book titles in a quarter century. With the incredibly inventive name Before Watchmen, the new set of stories will reportedly follow the same familiar characters of Rorschach and Nite Owl. But don’t expect Before Watchmen to shed light on the original series’ famously cryptic ending; as the title suggests, the set will start this summer by filling in some of the back story for main characters. Will it live up to the original’s genius of damaged vigilantes in a fraught world of impending nuclear doom? Not according to original and since-estranged Watchmen author Alan Moore, who called the move “Completely shameless” in an interview with the New York Times. | 12 | VideoSoul Train Creator Don Cornelius Found Dead of Apparent Suicide | Don Cornelius, creator of Soul Train was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in his Sherman Oaks, Calif. apartment early Wednesday morning. He was 75. Cornelius’s personal cool and musical taste helped Soul Train become an instant hit after its premiere in 1970. A decade before MTV, Soul Train was “the hippest trip in America,” popularizing first the soul sound of the Jackson 5 and James Brown, later emerging hip hop acts like Kurtis Blow and Run-DMC, and always featuring the coolest dance and urban fashion styles in the country. Soul Train went on to become the longest running American program ever in syndication, eventually producing 1,100 episodes over 35 years. Cornelius, who Al Sharpton described as “a cultural game changer on a global level,” hosted for many of those years, but was recently plagued with health issues and a contentious divorce. | 2/1/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 13 | VideoX Factor Shakeup as Simon Cowell Fires Host, Judges | Simon Cowell has gone on an X Factor firing frenzy. Steve Jones, Nicole Scherzinger, and, most shockingly, Paula Abdul have all been x-ed out of the judges lineup. Of the five original U.S. judges, that leaves only L.A. Reid and of course Cowell himself. The X Factor, a global vocal talent show created by Cowell, debuted in the U.K. in 2004 and arrived in the U.S. last year. The news of the pink slip bloodbath comes as something of a surprise as U.S. ratings for the X Factor had been quite healthy at about 12.5 million viewers per episode. However Cowell had ambitiously hoped to outperform American Idol's 20 million viewers, which may have led to the judge liquidation. Rumors are already swirling about potential replacements, including Mariah Carey, whom Cowell reportedly wanted to hire originally but Carey’s pregnancy made it difficult. All of this news keeps one thing intact: Cowell’s reputation as a huge jerk. | 1/31/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

They'll be joined by other pop luminaries, including rapper MIA, crooner Cee Lo Green, and party rockers LMFAO. Ahead of the big game, Minaj just released a video for her new single "Turn Me On," featuring French house music guru David Guetta. The video features Guetta building a robot—and somewhat naked—version of Minaj, who gets chased by other mannequin-like robots. | 16 | VideoSAG Awards 2012 Pay Tribute to Mary Tyler Moore | We’re in the throes of Hollywood’s awards season, and actors added more weight to their mantles last night after the Screen Actors Guild bestowed its set of statuettes. Mary Tyler Moore was arguably a focus of the evening, winning a lifetime achievement award from the guild. Elton John is hoping for a New England Patriots Super Bowl win next weekend when they square off against the New York Giants. Said the singer, "Well, you can't watch sport without being passionate—oh yeah, I scream at the television." Will he save some of that screaming for Madonna's halftime show? The two recently made nice after a feud started when Madonna won a Golden Globe over Elton. But the Rocket Man had some catty advice for the Material Girl: "Make sure you lip-sync good." Elton might not have much room to make jokes about lip-syncing; he and X Factor winner Melanie Amaro plan to pimp out Pepsi for a Super Bowl commercial. Rumors are buzzing on the internet that new parents Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have reportedly chosen a godmother for baby Blue Ivy: Oprah Winfrey. That would be one powerful Godmother to get, and we can imagine being deliciously spoiled by the media mogul. Will Blue Ivy be getting a key to a new car taped below her high chair? Perhaps not. Oprah's good friend Gayle King shut down any rumors by saying, "It's absolutely not true that she's the godmother...if true, it is news to her." | 20 | VideoAlcatraz Fans Leaving Prison Island Tours To Search for Secret Room | Fans of the new Fox drama Alcatraz might need a reminder that it’s only a TV show. A National Parks Service representative told TMZ that tourists on the island are starting to sneak off into “closed areas” of the former federal prison. Some wanderers have admitted that they’re searching for the “bat cave” underneath Alcatraz—a top-secret high-tech control room that exists … only on the TV show, of course. Even though the show just started its first season, parks personnel have already been prompted to post a sign that reads: “The TV show Alcatraz is fictional, many areas it depicts are not real. Closed areas protect you, historic structures and nesting birds.” Considering some of the fare on Fox News, it’s understandable that network viewers might get confused about the line between truth and fiction. Curtis Jackson [[tiny bit confusing that you switch to his real name from 50 w/o explaining]] took to Twitter to brag about winning his bet during the Giants nail-biter win over the 49ers, posting photos of himself with stacks of money and writing “just watched a $500,000 game get on my level Chumps.” Where will the money go? | 23 | Video2012 Oscar Nominations Favor Hugo, The Artist | Oscar nominations are in! As with every year, there's a vocal chorus praising surprises and shaking their heads over snubs. While many expected silent film The Artist to walk away with the most nominations, it was Martin Scorsese's Hugo that earned the top spot, taking 11 nominations to The Artist’s 10. Gary Oldman's performance in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy earned him his first ever Oscar nomination, though the Academy skipped over Leonardo DiCaprio's portrayal of Hoover in J. Edgar. As for comedies, no best picture nod for Bridesmaids, but the film did garner a best supporting actress nomination for Melissa McCarthy and an original screenplay nomination for Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo. Other standouts include Tree of Life for best picture and probable shoo-in A Separation, for the foreign-language film category. Whew! Thomas, whose goalie mask bears the popular libertarian and Tea Partier phrase "Don't Tread on Me," declined to join his hockey teammates in a reception at the White House to celebrate their Stanley Cup championship. Thomas chose instead to take a shot at the establishment on his Facebook page. He wrote: "The Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties and Property of the People ... This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country." The Bruins Goalie isn't the first to play hooky from the White House. In 1997 Mark Chmura of the Green Bay Packers skipped the trip to the White House, and last year Dan Hampton of the 1985 Bears refused to attend the team's 25th anniversary of their Super Bowl XX victory because he's "not a fan" of President Obama. | 1/24/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 25 | VideoYear of The Dragon Begins With Chinese Lunar New Year Celebrations | The year of the dragon has begun. Asian communities around the globe are ringing in the Chinese Lunar New Year this week with parades, firecrackers, and parties, to celebrate the most auspicious animal sign of their zodiac calendar. The dragon sign has long been associated with Chinese emperors and good luck, and people born under the dragon are supposed to be driven, unafraid of challenges and willing to take on risk. This passion can sometimes leave these go-getters unfulfilled and exhausted, however. John Lennon, Vladimir Putin, and Russell Crowe were all born during years of the dragon—the most recent of which was 2000. This year the water dragon is specifically celebrated—and the water sign supposedly calms the dragon’s fiery disposition, making them open to the ideas of others. So if you’re a dragon, cash in on your good luck. If you’re not, maybe this is your year to collaborate with one. | 1/23/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TMZ notes that Klum's decision has been a long time coming, and stems from concern over her children's exposure to Seal's anger management issues. The popular celebrity couple’s entertainment careers have played a part, too: Klum's massive success as an entrepreneur and Seal’s musical projects have further separated the couple geographically, straining the relationship further. She won six Grammys and opened for the Rolling Stones, but also overcame weight problems and a heroin addiction. James told the LA Times in 1992 "A lot of people think the blues is depressing, but that's not the blues I'm singing. When I'm singing blues, I'm singing life. People that can't stand to listen to the blues, they've got to be phonies." | 28 | VideoObama Sings Al Green at The Apollo Theater | Herman Cain, your version of "imagine" is OK, but let President Obama show you how it's done. The commander-in-chief took some time during a fundraiser at New York's famous Apollo Theater to croon a little Al Green to an audience that included...the reverend Al Green himself. When the president mentioned the soul legend was in attendance, he sang a snippet from Green's classic "Let's Stay Together." Obama then feigned surprise that the Sandman didn't come to yank him off stage--a reference to Apollo mainstay Howard Sims who would comically usher failed acts back behind the curtain. This may be the most musical presidential campaign in recent history. The question is, Mitt Romney, what's in YOUR repertoire? "Let's Stay Together" is a pretty good slogan, and it sounds like Obama has the reverend's permission to use it. | 1/20/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Wahlberg, who was in fact scheduled to be on American Airlines flight 11 the morning of Sept11, said: “If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’ ” The reaction from journalists and victims was swift, many pointing out the insensitivity of Wahlberg’s comments. He apologized in a statement on Wednesday, saying, “To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous.” Wahlberg’s violently heroic fantasy might not be too far off the Marky Mark though: the former troubled teen resident of Dorchester, Mass., once blinded a Vietnamese man in one eye after beating him with a stick and spent 45 days in jail. | 1/19/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

The record’s release comes after a tough year for the songwriter, whose longtime band mate saxophonist Clarence Clemons passed away last summer. Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Deputy James Mee wants a jury to see video of Gibson after his arrest, which reportedly features the actor climbing the bars of his holding cell, throwing a phone, and attempting to urinate on the cell floor. Quirky narrator Randall, whose viral video of honey badger documentary footage on YouTube has garnered over 33 million views, is in talks with Six Eleven Media for an animated/live action TV show, according to the Hollywood Reporter. With a working title of “Honey Badger U,” the show will center around Randall as a college professor of life sciences, his students, and of course the school’s mascot: a honey badger. While there’s already a honey badger book, the chances of the show getting picked up by networks maybe slim. (yes you know who YOU are).” In a 2009 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloe got a DNA test proving Kris was indeed her mother, but that leaves the question of whether Robert is the father. Still, are we sure it’s a bad thing to discover you’re not a Kardashian? Some of us wake up being thankful for that fact every day. | 1/12/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 37 | VideoU.S. Soldiers Allegedly Urinating on Taliban in New Video | A video that allegedly shows four Marines urinating on three dead Taliban fighters is threatening to throw an already fragile situation in Afghanistan off balance. NATO and American officials condemned the video, and Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta said, “I find the behavior utterly deplorable.” Marine Corps Cmdr. Gen. John Allen has been ordered to begin an immediate investigation into the incident. Meanwhile a Taliban spokesman said the discovery would not derail peace negotiations between the United States and the Taliban in the country. But President Hamid Karzai called the video “completely inhumane,” and tensions are growing between U.S. and Afghan leaders over a timetable for transferring control of law enforcement duties in the country. Recently, U.S. military personnel were accused of abusing prisoners at Bagram Air Base—recalling incidents at Abu Ghraib in Iraq. | 1/12/12 | Free | View In iTunes |
| 38 | VideoDoomsday Clock Moves One Minute Closer to Midnight | It’s one minute closer to midnight … and turning into a pumpkin is the least of humanity’s problems. Scientists this week moved the Doomsday clock a minute closer to 12. First wound up in 1947, the symbolic clock was created to warn the world of nuclear weapon proliferation. It started at seven minutes to midnight, and was moved to three minutes till as the United States and Soviet Union entered their long and dangerous game of nuclear chicken. The year 1991 was the clock’s most optimistic time—with the minute hand sitting 17 minutes away from midnight. The reason for losing time in 2012? It’s not the Mayan calendar. The move from six to five minutes till midnight reflects the world’s lack of progress on fighting climate change, and new states pursuing nuclear weapons. Iran, Turkey, we’re looking at you. Don’t blow it. | 1/11/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

The 90210 actress tweeted at a fan this week with a photo that took the self-styled glamour shot to a new level … by including a view of one of her breasts. The real question is, when a mistake like this makes you a bit more famous, is it really a mistake or a marketing strategy? Someone needs to invent a Twitter truth-o-meter. | 1/11/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

| 52 | VideoSamoa Skips Friday in Time Zone Jump | New Year's Eve comes early to Samoa this year. The South Pacific island nation skipped over Friday and went straight to Saturday this weekend as it leaps across the international date line. The line separates one calendar day from the next, and goes from the last country to ring in the New Year to the first. In 1892, the United States convinced Samoa to align their clocks to its time to aid trade with California. But that time zone put the island a day behind other countries close to it. Samoa's move will now put it on the same daily calendar page as its main trading partners, Australia and New Zealand. With more than 90 percent of Samoans emigrating to these countries, families can now celebrate important events such as birthdays at the same time. The island's government decreed that all those scheduled to work on the nonexistent Friday will be given full pay for the missed day of labor—a move likely to up the fun factor at this weekend’s parties. | 12/30/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
