Spectacular

This amazing podcast couldn't be more spectacular. The sensational hosts really get the unlimited web of Spider-Man and his Spider-Man family. They look deep at the tv show and the untold tales behind it. Thomas and Donovan really are a Marvel team-up and they chronicle the Marvel tales of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. These webspinners need to keep up the good work disecting Peter Parker, Spider-Man. This is the Ultimate Spider-Man podcast.

Pretty Good

This is one hella good 'cast! Hosts opinions on everthing from the obivous(animation) to the stuff NOBODY thinks about(soundtrack) give this podcas some real validity, now if only we could get Thom to stop talking about anime...

Wow

Hi, guys, I'm really enjoying your podcast. I've learned things about the Spider Man mythos that I've never realized before. I actually saw an episode this past weekend (I forget which one, I think it was the episode with Electro). While I confess it didn't floor me like I thought it would, it was still fun to watch and I'm glad I did.

I did want to talk to you guys about a few things, first of all the webbing. In the movies, shooting webbing was one of the powers Peter gained. In the comics, he created the devices. In my opinion, the natural web shooting ability I think makes more sense especially considering that Peter, smart as he is, is a high school student, not a mad scientist.

Another thing I'm glad Spectacular Spider Man did was that they added a little more characterization to Gwen. In the original comic book series she felt like your token damsel that was put in there for Peter to learn some important lesson. And we all know what happened to her. She wasn't even mentioned in any of the animated series (not even Spider Man and his Amazing Friends, remember that one with Spider Man, Ice Man, and Firestar) so to give her this depth of characterization, kudos to whoever the production company was. Of course this also bothers me because again we all know what happened to Gwen in the comics. Will the show follow along the same format?

I grew up reading the original Spider Man (and I do mean original. I actually own a re-print of the Amazing Fantasy issue featuring the first appearance of Spider Man) and I'm glad that Spectacular Spider Man is giving nods to the original comics. One thing I hope they introduce in future seasons (if the shoe really did get picked up for a new season) is the Spider Slayers. I loved them in the original comics and even in the 90s show.

Well that's it for now. Sorry it's so long. Until next time guys, I'll leave with the immortal words of Stan Lee.

'Nuff Said.
