| 2 | Video002 The P-51 Ride | First off, I want to apologize for the shakiness of the video portions. I was not able to mount my iPhone anywhere in the cockpit...though I don't think it would have been any better than hand held. That huge V-12 behemoth vibrates even at idle. Also, there isn't much air footage because once we were in the air the pilot I was riding with gave me the controls! For those that don't know the back story, last fall I went to a grand opening for a new FBO, English Field Aviation, located at Rick Husband International in Amarillo. Several door prizes were given with the top being a ride in a P-51D Mustang. I was exceptionally lucky enough to win! Due to an extended annual inspection I wasn't able to claim my prize until a few weeks ago, but it was definitely worth the wait. Most of this video is a photo slideshow.
