Customer Reviews

Great Program, 7th Av. Proj.

I am a lifelong fan of philosophy, music, literature, and sometime later, science. Robert Pollie's show, "7th Avenue Project" is right down my alley. Over the years I have greatly admired shows like This American Life, Rado Lab, etc. I think that Pollie's shows are in this class of excellence. His program is perhaps somewhat frugal in production bells and whistles, but it is superior in content. Pollie's style is relaxed, always positive and enthusiastic in spirit, and at the same time, very professional. I am amazed at his wide field of interests. His interviews with scientists are as interestingly conducted as those with unconventional film makers or novelists. I am surprised that he is not more widely known. But I know that he will be!

Terrific Program

The range of subject matter discussed on this program is impressive. Host, Robert Pollie, seems equally comfortable interviewing a guest who is an expert on nuclear physics, as he is joking with a rock and roll film maker. Not only is the scope widely varied, but the listener is convinced that the interviewer and interviewee are engaged on an intellectual level due to Pollie's obvious knowledge of the subject being discussed. As a result, the listener finds himself absorbed in subjects, he might otherwise have avoided. Listening every week is both challenging and delightful.

Radio at its best!

Robert Pollie, the host of The 7th Avenue Project never fails to impress me with his broad scope of knowledge. Pollie always comes across as being at ease as well as insightful with regard to his guests and the variety subject matter discussed on the show. I am a long time fan of the interview format and this show ranks among my favorites that can be heard on public radio today. As a listener, I have learned much and enjoyed hearing some brilliant, fascinating and colorful conversations via The 7th Avenue Project. I unconditionally recommend this weekly show.
