Erudite!
At first, I was very skeptical of a podcast that covered such a gamut as 'The Melian Dialogue' by Thucydides and the 'Arthashastra' by Chanakya. However, the genius behind this podcast has so thoroughly reversed my opinion that I now wait with an unquenchable thirst for the next installment. This podcast is skillfully on its way to becoming a diamond in the rough of a plethora of mindless podcasts.
Good Start!
I think this is a good start to a potentially great podcast. The audio is good, which for me usually makes or breaks a podcast. The history seems accurate and well put together. I don't know how you take critisim, but I had a few suggestions. A few of the episodes were about people in history that was not familiar with. When talking about the people, maybe you could throw in a quick history about each person associated with the subject. For example on the Melian Dialouge, I had no historical knowledge about the people you were talking about. The Art of War episode is a great example of what I was looking for, you gave a little history on the man and then went onto the subject.
One other thing, but it might just be me, I thought the first two episodes were good, but you were speaking way too fast and all the info was getting a little cluttered. Take it a little slower, The Art of War episode was about the right speed. Anyway, I think you are doing a great job and wish you the best with the podcast. I'll be listening!
Great so far!
This series so far discusses the history of ideas rather than facts, figures, and dates. I find the point of view refreshing and interesting. I look forward to future episodes. Longer would be better.
