This is what podcasts were made for
Since its first broadcast in 1950 the Archers - a radio soap opera set in a fictional British village - has been one of the most popular radio programs in the UK. There is a 12 minute broadcast every day apart from Saturdays and it has become such an institution that the Brits would probably get rid of their queen and royal family before dumping the Archers. Give it a try...you'll get hooked after a few episodes.
Finally!!
I caught the Archers while living in London in 1986/7 -- they were the ideal introduction to English culture. Why it took BBC so long to offer this is a mystery, but they have been worth the wait. No more relying on email summaries, and may the Grundys finally make money from their hare brained schemes
Thank you BBC
Any chance of posting the omnibus edition as well??
