Uhm, Totally Unsure
I tried it out and didn't care for it. I get the impression the hosts have not been to any of these places. It has the feel like they Google some facts about a place and they talk about it. I'm only 26 years old but maybe I'm too old for the way they talk. For example, Mack (male host) called Ramses II something to the effect of 'God, Pharaoh, King, Man, Guy whatever....' and at the lead-in to The Statue of Liberty said something like, '...And this guy here...' There are A LOT of, "Uhms," and pauses from both hosts. It sounds like some people did this out of their apartment or dorm room. Regardless, it is nice to see informative podcasts. This one is a history lesson with pictures. I would recommend it to someone that enjoys history and is in Jr. High School. They do have interesting facts, but nothing you couldn't conjure up online - as it seems they did.
please, no more flirting
Interesting topics, stunning photography, but the teen-style flirtatious banter between the hosts is highly distracting, heavily interrupts the flow of the narration, and makes me feel like I'm just suffering through the podcast. Make it stop! I'm waiting for the same tweaking of the sister podcast Stuff You Should Know, which turned that one into a 5 star podcast. This podcast shows a lot of promise, but How Stuff Works can do much better.
Cool places, but too much babble with little content
I am disappointed with every “The Coolest Stuff on the Planet” podcast. They have chosen excellent places, and have wonderful pictures but the hosts are silly and are not informative about the places they are talking about. There is very little substance.
