So much fun
The Drill Down is easily one of my favorite tech podcasts, right up there with any of Leo Laporte's shows.
One of the Web's Best Kept Secrets
When I first tuned into The Drill Down some months ago, little did I know that I was about to discover one of the web’s best-kept secrets; a wonderful gem consisting of the best in tech news hosted by some of the brightest and funniest individuals I have encountered on the web. Choosing new sources for informative updates regarding tech and social media can be tedious and exhausting. It remains easy to become closed off to new sources and remain locked into one’s own tried and true outlets, to continue reading the same few websites and/or listening to the same podcasts. Some months back I ventured out of my own comfort zone and tuned into The Drill Down, which promises to cover “Some of the week’s most important events in tech and on the web and how they affect us all,” and week after week, it delivers.
Andrew Sorcini (MrBabyMan) is joined each week by co-hosts Tom Cheredar (TChed), JD Rucker (0boy) and Muhammad Saleem (msaleem) and will oftentimes feature a special guest. Banding together each week to create a podcast that is not only highly informative, but also entertaining, this motley crew not only shares a passion and interest for technological innovation and gadgetry, but more importantly, how technology shapes the self and society. Or as Andy promises before the start of each show, how the most important events in tech and the web take shape and affect us all. Each participant’s unique personality as well as their joined inherent wealth of knowledge and experience makes this podcast stand above the rest. From Andy’s clever asides, to Mu’s unrestrained passionate dialogue, to JD’s proclamations and declarations to Tom’s dry wit and “tell it like it is” attitude, The Drill Down makes for an unmatched viewing and/or listening experience, what has simply become one of the highlights of this writer’s week.
The Drill Down streams live on Ustream.com every Wednesday at 6:30pm Pacific. Information, past and current episodes can also be found at TheDrillDown.com.
Weak
Lots and lots of "ums" and "uhs" and pauses -- unprofessional, and uh inefficient, um, uh, and echoes points uhhhh already made uh more succinctly um and uh intelligently on other oh other um sites and podcasts.
