Podcast Description

In this podiobook: A prince, a dragon & a magic sword - all the elements of a classic adventure story.Unfortunately for Prince Aster the dragon in question may not be the evil beast he thinks it is, and the magic sword might not even let the adventurous young prince touch it. When Aster discovers the price he must pay to save his kingdom, he'll have to make a choice no self-respecting adventure book hero would even consider. For most of his life, Aster has known he would one day face the fearsome dragon known as Mandrake. For the past ten years this beast has burned crops, destroyed villages, killed countless worthy knights and generally made life in the Kingdom of Caledon a royal pain. Now the young prince has learned of a magic sword powerful enough to defeat the dragon. The history books say it can be found in the ruins of a once great empire hidden somewhere beyond the Misty Mountain. If Aster can find the lost Empire, if he can brave the perilous journey through the mountains alone, if he can convince the ghost of the long dead Empress that he is worthy, then the only thing standing between him and the Empress Sword might just be a skirt.

A Great Way to Relisten to "The Empress Sword"

This delivery method is the perfect counterpart to listen to "The Empress Sword." While the other delivery method gives insights into both the author and listeners to the podcast with its author introduction to each episode and the "Dragon Chat" mix of listener comments and author responses. This one has only the story so in between getting my “Empress Sword” fix waiting for a new episode, I have them all loaded up in my mp3 players so I can listen to the story so far back to back. Its fun for me for every relistening because I find new things that I didn’t pay attention to the first go around. No matter where the story stops I keep wanting something more.

This story is already a classic in my book, the way it turns the Prince and Dragon story on it’s side. All the characters both protagonist and antagonist are believable. Instead of the female characters being just around to rescue and for window dressing, a lot of them hold their own with the males and some even superseded them.

If you love “The Empress Sword” you’re going to want to hear it over and over again. This podcast is the perfect way to do just that!

umm....HELLO??

I LOVED this podcast book! It was edited really well and the actors, narration, and plot were fantastic HOWEVER...what happened to the end? It stops after episode 14! What is THAT??!!!

This author is evil!

The author has me driving way out of my way just so I can listen longer to this great podcast. This means I'm burning more gas also - so not only is the author taking time away from my family, she is definitely not 'green' either. Preying upon the defenseless reader in this way is evil. Please, please do more evil.

The story is fun and light, but insightful. The voice actors are good to excellent with some stilted prose or acting - not sure which or whether it's just even more amazing acting to set the right tone. The production values are very good. I can barely stop listening, and I am looking for excuses to do housework or chores which allow me to listen even more (even more evidence of the evil, tyrannical and enslaving nature of the author).
