Halloween is just around the corner, and you can kick it off right by buying the newly-released DVD of Indiana filmmaker Joshua Hull’s charming zombie comedy, “Beverly Lane.” Comparing the terrors of a zombie apocalypse to the hardships of the workplace, the film is a refreshing reminder of what great horror films do — they hold a funhouse mirror up to our everyday fears, fears that are exploited to great effect this time of year. Not the worst...but not good
I started listening a while back, and while it wasn't my favorite podcast, it wasn't anything offensive. It provided decent background noise, but I was never really invested. The hosts are kind of bland and really have any good information or insight into the topics they discuss. Also, they don't record on in the same room, so the quality and volume of their voices differ pretty significantly from each other. But, I kept downloading each new episode because they were short. I noticed lately that they were piling up and I just wasn't listening to them anymore. I went back to give them one more try. I listened to the episode entitled "Movies That Feel Like Mixtapes" because the name intrigued me. Turns out, they just meant "movies that fall into more than one genre and included movies like "Alien" because it's horror and sci-fi. A waste of time and space on my computer. Film Yap, I am done with you.
