Podcast Description

A Tale of ghost and witches, demons and the devil, and God himself, in the anarchistic slums of Amsterdam -- as the Berlin Wall crumbles and deadheads haunt the street. An odd collection of EuroTrash, stoners, street people, and artist are living rent-free in abandoned housing, homes deserted since World War II. Some just trying to survive. Others looking for adventure. All travelers, going one way or the other. Housing is hard to get. More and more folks are jumping the Berlin Wall. Nobody wants to be out in the cold. Peter Jones lives in the squatter's house when the spirit of the ghost is discovered down in the basement. He recently moved into the mad scene. Peter doesn't believe in ghosts. There is some adult scenes (eventually)y. Talk of sex, drugs, beliefs... & survival. A new law said squatters could move in and live rent free until there was enough city funds to tear down these old ghettos and put up some new buildings. The wind drove the rain down hard and made a haunting sound, blowing through the cracks and holes in the walls. Peter was happy not to be out on the streets: ‘Any port in a storm,’ he thought. Coming up with 800-guilders a month for rent was no longer one of his possible options. His work visa had expired. Something metallic blew down the sidewalk, rattling loudly as it passed by under his large Dutch window,, shattering the stillness and hypnotic drone of the rain. Then he heard the footsteps. They were coming from inside the house. Several pairs of feet scuffing around down below. They were coming closer, up the steps, towards his loft. The woman were going to tell him about the ghost they all saw in the basement. Peter didn't believe in ghost.
