Podcast Description

In this podiobook: The ID Files is a compilation of interviews about the recent Intelligent Design Controversy taken from The Sci Phi Show (http://thesciphishow.com). These interviews are with Dr Michael Shermer of the Skeptic Society, Salvador Cordova of the IDEA Centre, Dr Mike Behe of Lehigh University and Nick Matzke from the NCSE. The individuals represent a spectrum of positions on the question of Intelligent Design and these interviews serve as a useful introduction to the issues at stake and the ideas involved.

Interesting...but

I didn't think that Rennie was near critical enough when it came to the ID proponents. I think that much is obvious. It's also obvious that the IDers want to get out of the shadow of biblical creationism. I found it rather dishonest that Rennie tried to dismiss ID's ties to creationism. He doesn't mention AT ALL the actual history of the ID movement, how in the textbook 'of pandas and people' 'creation' was systematically replaced with 'intelligent design'. All in all, Rennie's view is distorted and it shows in the podcast.
