Chronicle Summary Report – July 2010 | The main continent on the planet of Hellifyno, cultural and symbolic center of supernatural activity, is coming into the dog days of its warmest summer months. Across the land temperatures are averaging from 85 – 95 degrees Fahrenheit, with a few sweltering days topping 100 in the capital city of Consequence. THE BLOOD HUNT Friday, July 9th was the day of the Great Fae Blood Hunt. This is an ancient event that is practiced by the mystical Fae, a magical race of extraordinairy power. Locked away in another dimension for centuries, the Fae have recently broken through into the realms of reality and are making their presence known across the universe. The Blood hunt is traditionally a Fae event, where bounties are placed on the heads of certain creatures and individuals. Hunters are then paid these bounties if they are able to kill or capture those on the list. Occasionally hunters are able to put themselves on these lists and become the hunted. If they survive the hunt, they themselves are paid these bounties. This year the event was extended in an attempt by the Fae Overlords to kill the most powerful creatures and cast chaos and confusion across the universe. This was done by turning the event into a hunt of hybrids, which used racial predjudice and bigotry to fan the flames of violence. On Hellifyno the Blood Hunt was perpetrated specifically by the VC enforcers, a warrior arm of Hellifyno’s Vampire Council. Led by Elexin Harbindale, the VC Enforcers started off with the best of intentions, seeking merely to register vampires and vampire hybrids across the planet. However things took an insidious turn when they began imprisoning, and even exterminating the creatures they were supposed to be protecting. Millions were hurt or killed during the Blood Hunt, however many of these were hunters or Fae themselves trying to collect the bounties. Terrified by the possibility of being ethnically cleansed, hybrids banded together with others of sympathetic value to oppose the Hunters who sought to collect on the bloody bounties. The end result was that the Fae overlords were bankrupt, their armies were decimated, and the populations they sought to weaken have now banded together against a common enemy. ELEXIN HARBINDALE Early on in the genesis of the government of Hellifyno, Elexin Harbindale took on the position of leader of the Vampire Council for this planet, and liaison between the government of Hellifyno, and the greater council at large. After the violence of the Blood Hunt died down, Havoc, the Lord Executive of Hellifyno, ordered the arrest Elexin for his alleged connection to the planning and execution of that event. This order was carried out by newly appointed Grand Marshall Demaar Nobu, who reluctantly put the vampire elder in silver handcuffs, and then, releasing him a moment later, escorted him to a cell in the royal palace. Immediately complaints were filed by the law office of Luper, Needle, and Parker, representing the interests of the United Space Federation. They claimed that the arrest of Elexin was illegal due to the fact that he was a diplomat from the Federation, and thus enjoyed the luxury of diplomatic immunity. Further, since Havoc had signed a treaty agreeing to make Hellifyno a provisional member of the Federation, that his government was subject to the intergalactic rules of that governing body Elexin was arraigned before the people of Hellifyno, in a town hall style meeting led by Havoc, and his newly appointed Pro Consul – Tye Sampson. There the people of Hellifyno were able to air their grievances, and attest to the guilt, or innocence of Elexin, in perpetrating the Blood Hunt. While many had misgivings about his role, the eventual conclusion reached was that a squid like monster named Bokrug had taken psychic control of Elexin, forcing him to take the actions that led to the execution of the Blood Hunt. | 7/13/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Remaking Bahari – December 20-21, 2009 | Chronicle Society News Report December 20th: Those who were trapped on Bahari knew that the planet would explode within less than three days, and they still had no way to escape. Elexin, at times arguing with himself in several voices, at other times seeming almost sane, revealed that the key was to open the three pyramids. Elexin, Rye Simmons and the vampire Annie folded to the first pyramid, appearing on a sheer cliff face with a thousand-foot drop. They managed to scale down. As he approached the pyramid, Elexin remembered building it in the future - a curious paradox as yet unexplained. After disarming a land mine that Elexin stepped on, the three, joined by Zazel and Julia, made it to the pyramid, which Elexin opened with a sample of his own blood. Inside they found a transdimensional access nexus containing the planet Bahari's oceans and fresh water. After traveling by boat to a lighthouse structure, and using fireballs to unseal the stuck door, the party found an aged Elexin sitting at a console. Elexin went to his older self saying that he knew this was not the right time, but things were out of sync. The old Elexin smiled and activated the pyramid, whereupon Elexin killed him and bade him rest in peace. The party quickly escaped and returned to the tavern. For hours they heard the roar and felt the rumble of water unleashed. The next day, clouds had formed, rain had fallen, and tough desert plants had sprung up. December 21st: The second pyramid, holding wind and weather, had been built at some time by Carol, the Weaver. On this day she, Zazel, Devek and Daloki were sent to the area of that pyramid by Elexin. It was not long before tiny flakes of metal became attracted to Zazel's electrical nature, giving him minute cuts. Even worse, Carol set off a sonic mine that broke her leg and peppered the others with bruises. Zazel carried Carol the rest of the way. The metal flakes, nanites, became thicker and thicker, and the party made a beeline for the nearest structure of the "pyramid," which was actually a group of metal silos. Zazel's powers were needed to short-circuit and open the access panel. Once inside, they traveled in a clear bubble through a mass of clouds and storms to a tower in the center. There Carol met herself, spoke with herself, finally merged with herself, and used her webs to free the wind, the clouds and the storms. But as the party exited the silo, they were met by tornados, earthquakes, blackening sands and the manic laughter of the Wyrm. He taunted Carol saying she had made a mistake that would destroy the very fabric of existence by activating her pyramid without his own. Yet Wyrm did not wish to end existence, so he did activate the third and last pyramid. A beam shot into the aged red sun of Bahari, and total darkness fell. A minute passed, and then sunlight returned - but not the same sunlight. A golden sun now burned in the sky far to the south, where it belonged. The Weaver, shocked and stunned, disappeared. The rest of the party found themselves transported back to the tavern, where Zazel collapsed in grief over Carol's abandonment and Elexin told Daloki he believed he could now take them all home the next day with her help | 12/21/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Important Update! – December 16, 2009 | Chronicle Society News Report - December 16th, 2009 The tavern, the Inn of Worlds, Echo's cottage and Elexin's home have all disappeared from Worlds' Crossing, together with everyone who was in any of those buildings last night when they were abruptly transported to another world. Not only that, but those who come to where the tavern was and get close to the empty area experience a very strange effect. Their bodies seem to split apart as soon as they cross the threshold, breaking into atoms. The experience is exhilarating and terrifying all at once. Suddenly everything lurches and comes back together as reality settles. The travelers find themselves in the tavern's new location, transported from a the wintry Worlds' Crossing to an alien desert wasteland. The tavern and the three other buildings are surrounded by a force field. Those who first found themselves on this new, hostile world have tunneled underneath this barrier, but the passageway offers no freedom. As the bright heat of the red sun beats down on those beyond the barrier, it becomes readily apparent that no living creature, no matter how strong, can survive the punishing heat of this atmosphere unshielded for very long. Inside the shimmering wall, the heat is still oppressive, but the effects are drastically reduced, especially the feeling of actually being burnt by the sun's powerful rays. The three other buildings from World's Crossing are visible from the tavern, though in odd places, not lying where they ought to. To the north, a strange series of tall obelisks which shimmer pure black in the sun. These are interspersed with the ruined remains of what appear to be ancient buildings. The buildings glimmer with strange alien colors, even as they lie ruined amongst the waste of the desert landscape. Using magic on this planet results in greenish grey, alien snakes to pop up out of the ground, attacking their prey with sharp fangs. The larger the disturbance, the more snakes appear, and the larger they seem to get. They are vicious, and if their skin is broken in injury or death, corrosive acid sprays everywhere. Everyone is advised to use the utmost caution, as the world appears to be a stasis world. Once you arrive, you are unable to leave. Transportation rings or coins do not work, folding, gating, rifting, warping, and all means of teleportation do not work. Mental communication with those not on this new world is impossible also. Perhaps the alien buildings in the distance hold the clues for escape... | 12/16/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

New Hope – New Challenges | Chronicle Society News Report - December 14th, 2009 The Chronicle has been receiving numerous reports of a Slayer Battle fleet invading star systems across the galaxy. The attacks seem to be concentrated on systems with planets that contain large numbers of magical beings. The Slayers are wiping out indigenous populations, and then occupying the territory, using it to set up factories to produce even more weapons and robotic warriors for their cause. We have confirmation of at least 12 planetary systems which have been occupied by the Slayers, in addition to their main headquarters on Hellifyno. Unfortunately we also have word of what happens when a planet puts up to stiff a resistance to the Slayers occupation. There are reports of several planets which have simply vanished, replaced with nothing more than chunks of rocky debris. The Leader of the Slayer forces has issued the following statement. “My fellow Humans. It is time that we cast off the great sickness that is amongst us, and become pure once again. Surrender the vile abominations that live amongst you, help us to purge them of your worlds, and you will be able to live in peace with us, as a glorified state in the Empire of Humanity.” Meanwhile on World’s Crossing, the Magical Resistance has a new leader. Stepping into the Void left by Daloki Mauvais’ sudden departure, Dameon D’rakan has taken over as supreme commander of the magical military forces. His first act in this role was to declare all out war on the Slayers, and to initiate a plan to attack them on their own home world. Unfortunately this plan failed, when the Resistance found that the Slayers had already destroyed their home world of Pax, considering it to be tainted by the presence of too many magical beings. However Dameon appears to be unperturbed, and is still focused on his goal of bringing the war to the Slayers. | 12/14/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Obituary – Romausi – December 8th, 2009 | Chronicle Society News Report - December 8th, 2009 Romausi, a respected warrior and hunter of our community, passed away December 8th, 2009. He risked his life in a mission to the slayer-occupied planet of Hellifyno, our dying magical planet. He was forced to hide in the earth itself, covering himself with dirt to avoid the slayers, and as a result he was poisoned. He managed to escape back to the tavern to bring news of the danger of our home planet. This brave warrior's last act was to save the life of Raelin Aero, and his dying words were ones of encouragement to all, not ones of regret. His death has taken a great toll on his father, Elexin. May we all pray for the safety of both their souls, and for the rest of the family. | 12/8/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Chronicle Society Summary – November 22, 2009 | Chronicle Society Summary - November 22, 2009 Welcome to this edition of the Chronicle Society summary report. Our report is coming to you from the planet of World's Crossing, where the Magical Resistance is headquartering on a continent located in the North Eastern part of the planet, according to standard polar reckoning. The current season is late fall, with temperatures averaging from 20 - 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Most of the local wildlife has migrated South, although there are still a variety of large seasonal mammals that generally remain through the winter, and which are available for hunting. World's Crossing is a mysterious place that is connected to every other world in the galaxy through a series of portals. These portals bring new and strange creatures to the world on a constant basis. While it is rumored that the Slayers are aware that the Magical Resistance is on World's Crossing, they are unable to attack, because the portals leading to the planet have all been warded with charms that will not allow anyone who "intends to harm magic" through them. The world itself does not exist in physical space, and thus can only be reached via portal, and cannot be travelled to with conventional space craft. GENERAL BACKGROUND Hellifyno was the center of magical activity in the universe, and the home of many of the most powerful mystical beings ever to have lived. The Slayers are an organization of human beings, who are bent on destroying all magical, and non human life in the galaxy, to the purpose of creating an intergalactic Human Empire. Several Months ago the Slayers invaded Hellifyno, killing or enslaving most of the magical population of the planet, and driving the rest to a series of caves located underneath Retribution Rock. There the refugees of the attack formed the Magical Resistance, under the leadership of Daloki Mauvais. These caves were later discovered and attacked, forcing the Resistance to flee once again, to a large Ring Shaped spaceship which orbits a black hole. This ship was used as a staging point for moving these last few thousand survivors to the planet of World's Crossing, which is where they are currently stationed. CHARACTER BACKGROUNDS Amaranta Amaranta became infected with the anti magic virus, which she contracted from feeding on Kayion. She was sent to purgatory for isolation. Kain came into the hospital and told her there’s a way to cure her of the virus from someone called "the Seer". Amaranta and Kay were taken to her and as a result, they were cured but Amaranta was transformed into a Hylden, an ancient vampire that has wings, and the ability to heal. The Hylden’s caused all the suffering for the "normal vampires" like their "allergy" to sunlight and their constant need for blood. They drove them insane, so all the normal vampires began to kill off the Hylden’s until today there are only 6 left in the universe. Raziel has been looking for her. He told everyone that it was to talk but he makes motions to attack all the time. Amaranta is a Commander in the Resistance and leads a team of the following into battle: Paladins of right (500) Drow(1000) Treants(3) gorgons(50) and Elves(500) Axion Axion is a cyborg male who was created on Krieg Welt. He was originally a human but when Com. Caroline took over she made every person into a cyborg and connected their minds to one major computer. Apparently he's a defective one. He has several groups of cyborgs looking for him at the moment and came to the tavern asking for sanctuary. No One and Raelin Wolvarian Aero Aiden (No One), father of the twins Rae is carrying, has Wyrm's mark around his neck like a collar. Rae was The Abyssal Lord Farzik's creature from birth, and more recently both she and Aiden carried Farzik's marks Wyrm and Farzik fought and Wyrm absorbed Farzik's energy, giving Wyrm control over them both. | 11/22/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rescue of Daloki | Chronicle Society News Report - Nov. 3, 2009 When Wyrm had helped the resistance members during an attack from within, the entire group was skeptical. He had saved their lives, but obviously had an ulterior motive. He told them he wanted either the cursed pistol Lucy or the blessed sword Akuna. In return for one of these weapons, he said he could lead them to the place where Resistance leader Daloki was held prisoner. Knowing that there were powerful beings who were all after the weapons, Raelin asked for a day to think about the options - to the horror of Echo. Wyrm had said that Daloki was "spiraling into madness and death, and Echo had pleaded to have the pistol, which was in their possesion, given to Wyrm take the weapons so Daloki could be saved. Raelin, though understanding this, was firm in requiring time to consider, and Wyrm told them he would return in a few days. After hours of debate, the group decided to give Wyrm the pistol. When Wyrm finally returned to receive the pistol, he left abruptly saying he would return in two more days. Between the time Wyrm first approached them and the day he finally returned, two things had happened: Daloki was tortured until she revealed the location of the Resistance headquarters, and Faltering Bright led a swarm of troops to overwhelm the base, causing the entire company to evacuate to Lucien's starship. The day of the rescue, Raelin and Amaranta had been plotting the people to come with them, but it seemed hopeless. Elexin, being the current leader, couldn't go since they had no idea of the layout and were unwilling to see another leader be taken. Elexin could only supply them with teleporters, telling them that they could grab Daloki and get transported back to the ship instantly. Although the two women debated for some time, they really had no choice, Wyrm showed up. The two would have to do the most important mission yet alone. After securing themselves, being wished luck by the group who would not be going and bracing themselves, they gave Wyrm the signal. He gathered the two women by the waist and took a sick pleasure in having them so close as he transported them. The transportation itself disgusted both women, causing them to gag and heave when they finally reached the destination. Gathering themselves together again, they asked for information, at which Wyrm laughed and left them alone in the dim stairwells. Raelin had decided to go first into the hallway, seeing as she had the more silent dissolving and time stopping attacks. Amaranta followed close behind as they both entered a long hallway, around one hundred feet long. After Rae dissolved the security cameras, they split up and started looking inside of the cells lining the walls. The cells were filled with beaten down magical species; both women wanted to rescue them but they knew they had to get to Daloki first. They carefully moved down the hallway until they came to a rounded area containing five guards, two cameras and access to three different tunnels. Raelin dissolved the cameras while Amaranta quickly killed the guards, the last one sending a shot from his plasma rifle and getting Amaranta in the shoulder. After a debate they both entered the middle, shortest tunnel with a blast door at the end. Cameras were once again dissolved before Raelin knelt down and focused on melting the blast door. She managed to get halfway through before she fell back, calling out in pain, as a sickly green metal was seen. Anti-magic metal had been placed through the door, although she tried again, nothing helped. Amaranta quickly ran back and got the pass keys from a dead guard but neither had any idea if it would work or not. While in the middle of rifling through the pass cards, the door opened by itself, revealing a large room where experiments were taking place, scientists running around and guards everywhere. Attack on the Resistance Base | Chronicle Society News Report - November 2, 2009 When Resistance leader Daloki Mauvais broke under torture and revealed the location of the Resistance headquarters, it was only a day until Faltering Bright led a massive attack on the underground base. Thousands of troops with plasma weapons, explosives, laser rifles and anti-magic guns, and hundreds of assault robots, arrived outside the base shortly after dark, remaining in hiding at first. Raelin, commander of aerial forces, and Dameon D'rakan, an experienced fighter with a deep personal grudge against Faltering Bright, scouted the area with a few of Raelin's troops - and all hell broke loose. For the next few hours the battle swung this way and that, as the Slayer forces, led by Bright and Reaper with assistance from Hiou Shizuka, relentlessly strove toward their goal of eliminating everyone in the base. From the caverns, ground commander Mara deployed troops to their positions, but the fact that all exits from the cavern base were small for the sake of security now became a liability. It became clear that the Slayers' goal was to trap as many people inside as possible and then flood the caverns with anti-magic gas. Echo, head of the healers, transported most of the healers, orderlies and supplies, along with all the injured who'd made it back inside, to the hospital in Purgatory using the access coin given to her by Asmodelius. But as the battle raged and robots and troops converged on the base's main entrance, Mara called for evacuation, and Echo began taking uninjured troops to the Moaning Fields in Purgatory by the hundreds at a time. When at last most of them were safe, Elexin handed Echo an access key to Lucien's starship, and she began transporting the wounded there. Dameon was unlucky - close to reaching Faltering Bright, he was pushed back and found himself in a desperate fight against the robots in the caverns, until Devek Slayter pulled him out. Raelin, badly injured, led the fight until the last possible moment, then was herself evacuated just as the gas in the tunnels and caverns was thickening steadily. Faltering Bright and Reaper never knew how many had escaped. Finding the tunnels empty, they declared a great victory thinking that the anti-magic gas had killed everyone inside. At the hospital on Lucien's ship, Phoenix tears and dragon's blood were used in quantity to save lives, while Lucien's medical staff pitched in along with the Resistance healers. In particular, Ama was of great help, using her talent to restore body parts to those who had lost them. For the Resistance, it was a costly battle. A third of their forces were killed, including half the Elves, three-quarters of the firedrakes, half the Paladins of Right, and a third of the Drow. While the commanders and other essential personnel have all been restored to full health, their hearts are heavy, for the Resistance gained nothing from the battle and lost much. | 11/2/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Magical Revolt | Chronicle Society News Report - Oct. 22, 2009 As many already know, last night was a large scale revolt against the slayers. The Resistance forces had found out about a mind controlling drug that would react to a powder put in the prisoner's food to make them easier to manage. After learning about this, Elexin began replacing the powder with a 'lookalike' substance so the prisoners would come to their senses and start growing powerful again. Daloki set up everyone with mental powers, 'mentalists', to tell all the prisoners to attack and revolt on cue. This cue was a large fleet of Rocs whom all had some power over energy making a bright light and flashing it at the same time in order to send out the signal. On cue, the world of the slayers was turned upside down as the prisoners, who had been docile and obedient, all revolted at once. Several members of the Resistance would be attempting to help the camps that were predicted to have a harder time, three targets total. Those members were: Devek, Zazel, Elexin, Raelin and Aiden. Daloki and Gwen would later on be attempting a stealth mission that the others knew nothing about. Each member fought bravely in their fights, and because of them many people were set free. The first raid included Devek, Zazel and Zazel's Rayvns. According to an extensive interview with Devek Slayter, Zazel and his men would take air cover and Devek would be on the ground guiding prisoners through his 'shadow tunnels'. Devek also explained that at the most, 10-15 of Zazel's men were killed but all the prisoners got out. During this raid, the gas and plasma rifles were the most difficult for the two men, but luckily they both escaped. Zazel was injured greatly in this fight but he managed to hide his wound so that he could fight again. The next fight included Elexin, Raelin and their combined troops. Elexin, Baal and the rest of his demon troops would work on the ground and escort prisoners to one of three portals while Raelin and her flying team would air cover. More than half of the total troops made it out alive, and most were severely injured. This battle was riddled with motorcycles and grenades, both Elexin and Raelin barely made it out, but both are alive and on their way to recovery. The last of the three raids was with No One/Aiden, Zazel and a combination of werewolves and the remainder of Zazel's troops. No One would be the one doing all the ground work and helping the prisoners escape and Zazel would once again be covering the sky. A great number of Zazel's troops were destroyed as well as a number of the actual prisoners. This 'camp' was the only one of the three to not be destroyed and the remaining 10 prisoners, whom were left behind, were gassed. This battle was riddled with gas, giant, robotic spiders, and anti-magic plasmas, by far the most technological battle yet. Zazel and No One were both greatly wounded during this battle, and although No One healed up in his werewolf form, Zazel is confined to a wheelchair for now. During this struggle, Daloki and Gwen went to destroy an underground robotics factory. Although much is still unknown about the actual battle that took place inside, a young witch who had controlled the portal they used reported back alone. Gwen is missing, presumed dead, and Daloki was last seen being taken away on a stretcher in a Slayer helicopter. Nothing is known about where the Resistance leader is now, but a substitute has been drafted to replace Daloki for the time being: Elexin. During these battles, out of 120 camps, 60 of them were completely freed. Thirty of the remaining camps were stuck in a large battle and half of the prisoners were killed, the remaining thirty camps were locked down and the prisoners 'gassed' as per the direct orders of Leonard Malcolm Cross. A rough number of 13,050 prisoners were killed by the gas and soldiers, although around 21,900 were completely freed. | 10/23/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Confirmed Slayer Weaponry | Chronicle Society News Report - October 23rd, 2009 Through studious reporting and aided by intel slipped to us from Synful, we have compiled a list of the weapons currently in use by the Slayers. We hope this information will help keep the Resistance safe and make sure everyone knows what to look out for. Anti-magic Gas--This is the key element to all Slayer weaponry. In its pure form, this gas is almost instantly lethal to any creature of magical origin or any who possess any type of magical power. Pure humans and normal animals are the only things not affected. It is heavy and sinks into a thick blanket. It resists any form of spell that attempts to move it or affect it in any way. If any magical being breathes in the vapors of this gas, their body begins to break down instantly, and ultimately even the molecules, atoms, electrons, and quarks are utterly destroyed. There is no cure for the gas! There is no vaccine! Extreme caution must be taken around this substance! High powered machine guns, rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns, heavy artillery--These are the most dangerous of the normal quality firearms due to their blunt force impact and the resulting damage done to shields. Laser weapons--All normal quality firearms have upgraded laser versions which fire beams hot enough to melt metal on contact. These are typically red in color. Plasma weapons--All normal quality firearms have an upgraded plasma form, though most of the effect of these weapons is negated by the shielding bracelets. The blasts from these weapons are typically white. Anti-magic Plasma--An upgraded version of the plasma weapons, these have been infused with anti-magic gas, thus rendering the shielding bracelets useless. There is not enough to kill instantly, but it causes immediate breakdown of the cells in the affected area. Anti-magic plasma is an electric green. Particle Beam weapons--These highly advanced weapons use subatomic particles charged with high levels of energy to bypass magical shields. No magical shield is resistant to them, and the damage dealt is equivalent to that of something like a mixture between a laser burn and a plasma shot. The color is rather unstable, but seems to flicker between a yellow, orange, or white beam. Gas Bullets--Most disturbing is the new development of Anti-magic bullets. These bullets are fitted into normal quality firearms or heavy artillery and explode upon impact. They have a concentrated form of anti-magic gas inside and on their coating, thus they will melt any sort of magical shielding or defense. If one of these bullets hits flesh, it will release the toxin immediately through the target's bloodstream as it explodes and is potentially fatal with just one shot. They have yet to be seen on the battlefield, but sources say it won't be long. Mind Control--Darts tipped with mind control serum will make a target lethargic and steadily more and more suggestive to commands. Anti-magic nets--These nets have been soaked in a liquid form of the anti-magic gas. They are not lethal but severely debilitating. Those who have been captured in these nets describe the sensation as "having the soul sucked out of your very being" Exterminators--These special shock troops have tanks of anti-magic gas strapped to their backs. They use basically a wand like a flamethrower to spray clouds of lethal gas through the battlefield. Many of them are also equipped with bomb-packs on their chests. If they explode, the gas tank will spread its contents thoroughly. Aerial Forces and Ground Vehicles Bombers--Small ships that can blanket an area with anti-magic gas Raiders--Combat ships equipped with any mixture of plasma and particle beam weaponry; regardless of the mix, heavy machine guns come standard Jet-Pack Soldiers--These aerial assault teams generally carry anti-magic plasma and anti-magic nets. | 10/23/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

URGENT MESSAGE – Resistance Members Declared Outlaw | In a secret interview with Resistance Leader Daloki Mauvais, the Chronicle learned that the two Resistance members who were responsible for today's attack on a slayer camp - an attack which resulted in the mass deaths by torture of prisoners in other camps - have been declared outlaw. Resistance members say the two knew what the consequences would be if the attack was made yet went ahead with it regardless. Devek Slayter and Zazel the Ravyn-King have been expelled from the Resistance. No one is to give them shelter, aid or comfort. This prohibition also applies to an ally of Zazel known as Arazel the Ravyn God. | 10/18/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Wrath of Cross is Upon Us | Listen to the Podcast version of this report. Chronicle Society Report - October 18, 2009 The most recent victory over the slayer forces of Leonard Malcolm Cross has been tinged with sadness and loss. Brave heroes assaulted the Slayer Command Center in Haven City on the planet of Haven and succeeded in destroying the building. The victory ensures that Cross is no longer able to resupply his troops on the planet of Hellifyno, and has now lost contact with his intergalactic force for the time being. One member of the assault team, Kayion Ravagarde, was taken hostage during this attack. As a response to the loss of his Command Center, Cross put out a repeating feed on all broadcasting channels across the planet of Hellifyno. He warned that any further attempts against the Slayers would result in immediate action. Unless all Resistance forces cease to attack and turn themselves in, ten magical prisoners in each and every labor-camp would be slaughtered, tortured on a live feed for all to see. Daloki ordered that all operations immediately cease, all attacks to be halted, and yet... One man, Zazel the Ravyn King, refused to comply with this order. He insisted that if all slayers in a battalion or camp were killed, then Cross would have no way of knowing of their demise. He proceeded to wipe out an entire slayer camp on the top of a mountainside while Devek covered for him, and within the hour, Cross was already broadcasting. Our reporters covered the story live as it happened, as Cross displayed his displeasure by repeating his threat, and then acting out on it. Before everyone's eyes, prisoners were brought out and tortured to death, their bodies impaled on spikes and left to hang for everyone to see, others being burned at the stake, amongst other horrible deaths. Ten prisoners from every camp were killed, resulting in a total of about 1,200 deaths today alone. He has repeated his threat: The attacks on the slayers must cease. All members of the Resistance must turn themselves in. If these conditions are not met, he will continue to kill ten prisoners from every labor camp until all magical beings in his possession are dead, or the terms of his "truce" are met. | 10/18/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Raid on the Slayers | Chronicle Society News Report - October 12th, 2009 The air buzzed with excitement as plans for a new raid drifted around. Daloki, Dameon, Lorstle (Vincent's Father), Devek, No One/Aiden, Raelin and Mara were all participants. Each had their own job. Daloki would use a magnet and her power over energy to create an electromagnet that would repulse the metal canisters of the deadly gas while Dameon would fling them away to a safe location. Devek would escort the imprisioned through a shadow tunnel to safety and Lorstle would keep a portal open for them to get to the Cavern. No One would transform and rip apart anyone who wasn't on their side or a prisoner, he would end up shadowing Dameon as well to make sure that nothing would befall him. Mara and Raelin would take to the sky and destroy the tanks and guard towers, as well as snipers. The plan was very specific and Dameon would be the leader of this mission, since Daloki would be too consumed with using her energy to toss the canisters back. Raelin and No One quickly transformed and the group waited on Mara and Devek to feed before they left. After opening the portal, they all went through and gawked at the sight before them. The clearing they stepped into was 400 yards from the camp, which was larger than they had expected. Guard towers marked every hundred feet as the compound spread to roughly a mile across, with tents in the center to hold the 417 prisoners in the center. Over two hundred guards walked the grounds on patrol, not the mention the many guards in the towers. The Head Quarters building, which housed the base comander, was right in the middle of the camp. There were half a dozen tanks, a dozen artillery, two barracks buildings, a chow hall, and a couple of support buildings. The guards carried machine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles and a few rocket launchers and anti-air emplacements. Raelin flew in first, flying low to the ground to take them from surprise. As soon as she was close enough, she threw a large ball of flames at the tanks and kept throwing them until it blew. She changed the color of her wings to draw the bullets as Mara flew in to help her devastate the towers and tanks. Daloki concentrated her powers and used them to start deflecting the gas canisters back towards the camp as Dameon flung them towards a distant mountain. After deflecting as many as possible, Devek and Dameon quickly blew up the wall and ran inside, splitting up. Devek used his shadows to create a tunnel and single mindedly and efficently escorted all of them to the portal. Dameon ran from building to building and set up charges, carefully flinging canisters away when he saw Daloki fling them back. The battle itself was fairly short, as each person did exactly what was intended of them. Although suffering from injuries, No One and Dameon continued setting up explosives in the buildings and carefully checking to make sure everyone got out. As soon as everyone left the area, Dameon pushed the button and blew it sky high. All 417 prisoners were safe and all the people participating took care of injuries, each in their own way. | 10/12/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rescue Mission | Chronicle Society News Report - October 11, 2009 As you all know, the heroes of Hellifyno have been forced underground beneath Retribution Rock, setting up a makeshift resistance headquarters as a base from which to strike back against Leonard Malcolm Cross and his hordes of slayers. Refugees and survivors trickle in at a slow pace, drawn by the magical beacon that pulls all those with faerie souls towards the secret hideout, urging them to come and be safe. Upon coming to realize that one of the regulars, Alaina, had not yet trickled into the Cheshire Cat Tavern to make her presence known, Synful decided to set off looking for her. Unheeding of the warning to leave the headquarters only in pairs or groups, Synful set off by herself on Saturday evening to comb the topside for Alaina. The next day, during his patrols and scouting, Kayion came upon a disturbing scene. He discovered the dead bodies of several slayers, blood stained into the ground and obvious signs of a struggle. What disturbed him about this was not the bodies of the hated slayers, but what had been left behind. The scimitar with the sparkling blue jewel at the tip, and the jewel-encrusted dagger lying in the dirt, discarded, told Kayion that Synful had been taken against her will. She was never seen without these two weapons, particularly the scimitar, which she seemed to treat almost like an extension of herself. Later that same evening, after a short rest at the tavern and speaking with the others for any sign of Synful, Kayion set off to patrol again. He took to the skies and circled the area near where the scuffle had taken place, and finally he was rewarded, though the sight was dreadful to behold. The slayers had set up a death camp no more than two miles to the northeast of Retribution Rock, a square facility surrounded by barbed wire, with guard towers every hundred feet or so. Buildings were around the perimeter, covered thickly with slayers training guns down on a central courtyard which seemed to be filled with at least five hundred magical captives. As he flew above the scene, his hawk eyes picked out the forms of both Synful and Alaina as a sudden burst of activity fluttered below. Prisoners lurched forward and gunfire and lasers began to rip through the crowd as a sudden rebellion started up. Kayion wheeled away from the scene and rushed back to the tavern to get the cavalry. He tore through the door and screamed that he had found their comrades, and that they were leading a revolt and needed help. The heroes flood out of the tavern and make their way with haste to the unfolding scene. Synful and Alaina had gotten most of the prisoners into the supply depot where their clothing, weapons, and personal items were being stored. The naked prisoners had begun to dress and prepare for escape, but the slayers had turned their guns inward and were firing heavy artillery at the building they were hiding in, causing it to shake to its core, the windows being blown out by gunfire and lasers as the slayers attempted to cease the revolt. Synful blew a hole in the wall of the building, knowing they needed to escape and that they couldn't run back out the front door. Captives began to pour out of the area just as the rescuers from the tavern showed on the horizon, coming down full force on the slayer encampment with all of their powers. The slayers were forced to turn their efforts to two fronts as they were attacked from within and without, and prisoners began to flood out of the fenced in area as Raelin dissolved holes in the fencing for everyone to escape from. Synful, backed up by Alaina, circled around until she could see the line of determined slayer soldiers, headed by Marcus Ghast, the leader of this particular death camp. Furious, Syn sent her power into his mind, liquifying his brain and sending the evil man crashing to his knees, his last words whispering out "Kill...them...all... | 10/12/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Resistance Headquarters | Chronicle Society News Report - October 8th, 2009 The Blue Moon Tavern, well known as the gathering place for the powerful beings of Hellifyno, has been completely decimated by the forces of Leonard Malcolm Cross, Faltering Bright, and their horde of over 30,000 slayers who have taken over the planet. It was thought that these people were going to be simple colonists arriving to settle on the planet, but soldiers poured out instead. The patrons of the tavern, along with all of the magical creatures of the world, have been forced underground. There is a system of caverns underneath Retribution Rock that allows only those who hold no malice towards magical creatures to enter. Hundreds of refugees have poured into the tunnels and are being cared for by teams of healers, and fed by Harry and the staff of the Blue Moon. A new tavern has been set up underground, known as The Cheshire Cat Tavern (as per the sign hanging on the wooden door). This is the new meeting place, the center of the Resistance. All magical beings are encouraged to stay hidden, keep underground, and take part in the efforts to reclaim the planet as our own. | 10/8/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Colonists Due October 8th | Chronicle Society News Report Human Colonists Due October 8th, 2009 A confidential source in the Land Office at Starport tells the Chronicle that in response to a massive recruiting campaign by Cross Industries, approximately 32,000 colonists will arrive on Thursday to take up residence on the planet of Hellifyno. Land currently unoccupied has been annexed by the KriegWelt after rights to the planet were granted to the Land Office by Mr. Cross. Supreme Commander Caroline of the KriegWelt is overseeing the colonization project. Our source tells us that if all goes smoothly, more colonists will come to live on Hellifyno and other worlds in the Rolepages Nexus that have land available. Information as to what other worlds may be colonized was not available. When asked for comment, the owner of the Inn of Worlds on Worlds' Crossing said, "I own whole world." We confirmed this statement with the Land Office, and we can therefore assume that Worlds' Crossing will not be colonized. In related news, the Chronicle has learned that non-human business owners in Starport are being harassed in a concerted effort to shut their operations down. A red "V" for vampire was painted in blood red on the door of Elexin's Exotic Import and Export shop overnight last night. When asked what he would say to the perpetrators, Elexin, the owner, said, "I think they are small minded and intolerant. I have done nothing to anyone and have tried my best to cooperate with everyone since I have arrived." Regarding the impending arrival of the colonists, Elexin said, "I don't have any feelings as long as they leave us alone." Others who frequent the Blue Moon Tavern, however, were vocal in their displeasure, but refused to allow us to print their names. | 10/6/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Slayers Attack | Chronicle Society News Report - September 30th, 2009 A voice rang out from nowhere, a deep female voice, thick with malice. “There is NO PLACE safe from us.” Those sitting in the tavern looked around them in shock. Some leapt to their feet. Others drew weapons. The voice rang out again, this time clearer, hatred dripping from every word. “We will kill you, wherever you hide.” Now fear began to creep into the room. Daloki Mauvais reached for her knives. Mara stood, peering around, anger seeping into her soul. “THE HUMANS SHALL DESTROY YOU” At these words the door of the tavern smashed open, and a giant woman dressed in obscenely tight red body armor entered swinging a large evil looking hammer. She smashed the weapon down on a nearby table and splinters flew everywhere as she screamed, “WE’RE GONNA KILL ALL OF YA F*****S RIGHT NOW!” Mara, standing tall and proud against the invader spoke in an unwavering voice, “You had better get the hell out of here.” The giant woman, Unholy Retribution, swung her hammer again and this time a chair went flying through the air. “COME ON, LETS GET THIS STARTED, BRING IT ON!” Elexin, hearing the noise from up in the attic began to make his way down the stairs. Meanwhile Mara remained firm, strong, and brave against the intruder, “If you don’t get out of here right now,” there was steel in her voice “you are going to regret it.” Raelin and Daloki stood further back, waiting to see how this confrontation would play out. Outside, little No One worried himself sick, not knowing what to do. The giant woman in red screamed once more in a booming voice “IN THE NAME OF THE SLAYERS” and then charged, completely bypassing Mara, her evil hammer swinging wildly as she made her way towards the back of the tavern, towards Daloki. Daloki screeched and leapt behind the bar “You idiot, I’m HUMAN.” The Slayer grinned crookedly, madness in her eyes as she took a swing at her agile opponent. “Sympathizers die with the rest.” Daloki leapt back, narrowly avoiding the blow. Meanwhile Raelin began to transform, her dark phoenix powers changing her body into a weapon ready for battle. Mara, seeing the danger to her friend Daloki, immediately began to cast a spell, raising the chairs and tables about her into the air. However, just as she was about to fling them at the intruder, Faltering Bright, Commander of the Slayer armies, appeared from nowhere. She raised her hands, mumbled a few words, and a ball of fire erupted into the air heading straight for Mara’s head. Feeling the magical force behind her Mara spun, swinging the floating debris around her, sending tables and chairs crashing into the fiery ball of death. Faltering Bright quickly flung several more orbs of fire wildly into the air, and then leapt with acute agility, falling behind the protection of an overturned table. Meanwhile Elexin had finally made his way down into the battle. He folded reality, affording himself a better vantage of the confrontation. Then using his arcane powers, he began to cast a spell at the large hammer wielding intruder. But he was too late, she turned, angling the butt of the hammer towards him, and firing a huge blast of energy his way. The elder alchemist was only barely able to fold reality once more, transporting himself out of harm's reach. Mara screeched and hurled a return volley of fireballs at Faltering Bright. The Slayer Witch immediately grabbed the upturned table and charged at her. The fireball hit the surface of the wood top and it exploded into a flaming mess of splinters and ash. Faltering grabbed the rest of the now fiery javelin in her hands, and flung it with all of her might at Mara, who was only just barely able to dodge it. Behind the bar, Daloki surveyed the scene, while beside her Raelin maintained her half-transformation into a phoenix. Now ready for battle, | 9/30/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Newsflash – The Humans Are Coming! | Chronicle Society News Report - September 29th, 2009 It has been known that there is a void sphere hanging in the rafters of the tavern for quite some time, pulsing with magical energy. Demons have poured out of this void in the past. It has also been known that the slayers have been sniffing around the tavern grounds more and more frequently. Attacks have been increasing. These two events were thought to be separate... but are they? This evening, the void sphere pulsed, and a great weight and depression settled across the room. Each patron was affected differently; some, like Asmodelius, quite enjoyed themselves as reality flickered nauseously in and out of existence. A pillar of darkness formed in the center of the room, drawing everyone's attention. Visions began to appear in the darkness. The first vision was of a red headed woman running, crying, screaming for help. One could not help but feel sympathy towards the poor victim as knives cut her body to shreds. The second vision was of Daloki Mauvais, screaming "I will not tell you where he is..." and uncharacteristically crying. The tears poured down her face as she was killed ruthlessly. Each person in the room, be they godlike or simple mortals, saw their own demise in the pillar of darkness. As depression settled about the room, a dark figure appeared. He speaks prophecy and portents of doom. He insists that all of the so-called "powerful" patrons are merely cattle, sitting and waiting to be slaughtered. Showing more visions of humans with wicked machines, he insists that a plague is coming, and that death shall fall at the hands of mere human beings. The slayers are growing in power, and soon their technology will give them power equal to that of all special beings, be they immortals, vampires, or werewolves. This is the warning of Scorpio Damascus. His solution? Genocide. The complete extermination of human beings. Which side of this war will you be on? Will you stand up for your community, or will you side with the ungifted human majority? | 9/29/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rumor-mill: Featuring Wyrm & Asmodelius | Chronicle Society News Report - September 28th, 2009 As written in previous reports, Asmodelius was under a contract to retain two weapons: Akuna, a sword; and Lucy, a gun. Daloki has had Lucy in her fairy pocket and has refused to give it up, while the whereabouts of the sword are yet unknown. The spirits that inhabit the two weapons are in constructs, a body made to house a soul. Nonetheless, the two weapons are still wanted by Asmodelius' previous employer. The rumor going around has it that Asmodelius has told both Raelin and Elexin that he no longer wants the two weapons. As is mostly known, and in an upcoming report, Asmodelius is part of the trial taking place. He has been moved to a new employer, as per the rumor, and his old employer has contacted another. This new rumor, suggests that Wyrm will be the one to be employed to take the weapon. Reason being, "He [the employer] likes how Wyrm works." (Asmodelius). We will be keeping careful watch over this rumor and put out flashes when deemed neccessary. | 9/28/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Cobra Strikes! | Chronicle Society News Report - September 27, 2009 A calm evening in the tavern is interrupted as Abbey is licked seductively on the back of the neck by something invisible. She pales and begins to stammer as Cobra materializes in the center of the room. His long, snakelike torso is distended and the clear outline is evident of a recent meal, probably a wolf or a very large dog. [Afterwards, when asked if evildoers frequently lick her in this manner, Abbey replied "Sadly, yes."] In answer to hostile questions, Cobra gloats that he has come for "Dessssert." With this remark he spits poison in Devek's eyes. This humble reporter has it on first hand account that the poison "hurts like a bitch" and "burns like hell." It seems to cause a both a paralyzation and blindness that spreads through the body and lasts about three minutes before wearing off, with no lingering effects. As Devek dropped to the floor, the Cobra curled downwards and bit a small section out of Abbey's leg, swallowing it down with glee. At this point, Raelin and No one [side note: this one goes by the nickname "Aiden"] had approached the tavern from outside, hearing commotion. Raelin pushed past the frightened young man and went to tend to the injured. Cobra lashed out and grabbed Aiden, lifting him into the air. "Too ssskinny..." The creature hissed. It spit poison into Aiden's face and dropped him onto the ground, where he fell with a sickening thud. Raelin had partially transformed into a phoenix and managed to drop a tear on Aiden before being swept off her feet by a stroke of Cobra's massive tail. Just before Devek had recovered from the poison, Cobra took a bite out of his thigh, swallowing it down. The pain seemed to rouse the felis and he tried to wrap shadows around Cobra to no avail, seeming to strengthen the monster. Suddenly Cobra turns, looking curiously at his tail. Raelin had been heating it up, and as he turns, she blasts him with a fireball. Though it doesn't seem to do much damage, he does appear hurt, and she starts making a larger ball. Abbey distracts Cobra, then finally drops out of the way and allows Raelin to shoot the large fireball at Cobra. Howling in pain, the creature stabs Raelin in the gut with a spiked elbow and dematerializes as Devek sends an energy claw flying its way. The experience, overall, made Devek feel a little weird and "pissed off." This reporter will be on the lookout for more eyewitness accounts. | 9/27/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Timeless Defiance and the Trial of the Gods | To listen to the Podcast version of this report click here. Chronicle Society News Report - September 27th, 2009 As many know, there is a trial of epic proportions taking place. (This trial can be viewed at http://www.rolepages.com/profiles/blogs/a-grave-matter .) The judge of this hearing, Leonsinte, has called together a meeting of all gods and goddesses of time and fate. A few of the powerful beings in attendance are Dronos, Ananke, Janus, The Dagda, Hauhet, Moros and Asmodelius, to name only a few of course. The judge has called Asmodelius to be the 'representative of Downbelow'. Timeless Defiance has been accused of broadcasting a signal to signify that all the 'denizens of the Abyss' should use the Blue Moon Tavern to enter the overworld. Other accusations include, but are not limited to: "...using life energies and impartation of consciousness to an inanimate structure with willful disregard for all existence and without filling out the required paperwork in quadruplicate notarized and and sealed by 2000 of the current siting deities of time and the fates and publishing his intent to do so at least a millennium prior to starting the midification and construction... and also for having no fashion sense." (As stated by Leonsinte on Sept, 24 2009.) Asmodelius has offered to go to the tavern and take depositions from several of the regulars about the 'defendant's mental state'. He has talked to Raelin and Daloki already and taken what they have both stated into account. Both have asserted that he is their friend and they have refused to 'rat him out' (Raelin). Daloki has also stated that Timeless Defiance has been away on a mission and has only recently returned, with his state of mind much different then when he left. We will continue to monitor this growing situation and keep you updated. | 9/27/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Wyrm and Cobra – Part 1 – Taunting and Teasing | Chronicle Society News Report - September 22nd, 2009 The tavern had been relatively quiet for a few moments; the regulars seemed relaxed from where they each respectively sat. Daloki, Abbey, Raelin and Romausi were the only people who were there, it seemed like a quiet night and the people in the room were comfortable, but of course good things don't last long. From the edges of the room, a thick black mist slowly crawled up, curling towards them. Abbey knew who it was though, and as soon as she whispered the name Daloki paled and ran into another room as if the hounds of hell chased her. The two girls knew that Daloki seemed to take to Wyrm's presence much worse than any other, she was a human and Wyrm's power seemed to hold stronger over her. Abbey stood strong, unwavering. She knew of the past horrors of Wyrm but was not scared of a bully. Romausi stayed silent, he had not witnessed the power or the evil that seemed to follow Wyrm like a shadow. Raelin stepped closer to the bulk of Romausi, she moved slowly and painfully, thick bandages on her back telling that she was injured. The mist swirled upwards, clouding the room in darkness so no one could see but for a couple of inches from their faces. A figure, unseen by the regulars, materialized into the center of the room. Cobra. He stood tall with his torso like that of a man and his waist down that of a snake, a cobra. Raelin paled as she felt something wet touch the back of her neck, shivers of fear took over the woman as she heard a hiss to her left. At the same moment, Abbey felt Wyrm's tongue hit the back of her neck, the warm pebbly sensation seemed to make her whimper. Almost at the same time, the women call out to each other, unable to see another in the darkness. Cobra made his way over to Abbey, unseen by the three people. He leered at Abbey the way one would a meal and used his large tail to throw her against the wall with a sickening thud. Raelin called out again, stumbling through the dark to try and find her. The thick mist seemed to swirl around the center of the room, looking much like a black hole. The form of Cobra stood proudly in the center of the room while his father, Wyrm, began to form in the center of the swirling mass. Abbey lay on the floor, blood seeping out of a cracked skull as Cobra loomed over her. Raelin, seeming to try and get Cobra away from Abbey, threw a chair at the spawn. The chair broke easily against the hard mass of Cobra and didn't seem to faze him. Looming down he painfully sank his fangs into Abbey's shoulder, pulling off a large chunk. Abbey let out a pain-filled shriek and nearly passed out. At the same moment, Romausi shook his right wrist, pulling out a shimmering net. The large serpentine man blocked the door, as if trying to keep Cobra and Wyrm inside. The large net was thrown over Wyrm but quickly he dematerialized and appeared a couple of feet left of the useless net. Wyrm didn't seem angry, only amused by his actions. Raelin moved forward to help Abbey but Cobra slithered over and spat poison in her eyes. Raelin let out a painful yelp and sank to the floor, her body temporarily blinded and paralyzed. Not to let his father play with Romausi alone, Cobra knocked the big man over, just as Romausi had shaken his left wrist to make his spear grow. Wyrm made his way over to the paralyzed Raelin, who was whimpering on the floor, able to hardly make out blurs. Cobra wrapped his lower tail around Romausi's legs and flung him around like a toy; the big man's body crashed into the walls and floor of the room, sometimes hitting the ceiling. Romausi went quiet for a while, seemingly knocked unconscious. Wyrm eyed Raelin from his spot above her, looked reminiscent of a scientist watching a trapped experiment. Seeing her push herself up, able to feel and see again, he sends a swift kick to her ribs. He doesn't seem to kick her for the pleasure of causing pain, | 9/22/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Elexin and the Darkness – Part 3 – Conclusion | Chronicle Society News Report - September 19th, 2009 On the following day, September 18th, Asmodelius broke Abbey out of the prison cell, though he left Raelin there because he was angry with her for not retrieving the cursed pistol, Lucy. Abbey later got Raelin out. Daloki had hidden her jacket with the fairy pocket holding the pistol. She met with Akuna, who examined her palm. "I see the beginning, and the end," he told her, "but the middle is up to you." Shortly thereafter, Akuna was captured. Later that evening, Raelin came to Daloki saying that Asmodelius requested a meeting under truce. At the meeting: Asmodelius said that he was merely a businessman trying to fulfill a contract from his employer to obtain the sword and the pistol. He said he would release everyone if Daloki gave up the weapons, and she refused. After the meeting, Devek rebuilt Elexin's home and Akuna was put in the dungeon. Then Asmodelius tapped his ruby cane on a stone wall and a hidden door open. Behind the door, Elexin hung in chains, beaten and bloody. The following evening Asmodelius came to the tavern, again under truce, with another proposal. He said he would, as a show of good faith, release one of his prisoners without requesting anything in return: Elexin or Akuna. Daloki was stunned to hear the name of Elexin. All this time she had thought Asmodelius WAS Elexin's dark form. Now it was made clear to her that Asmodelius had captured Elexin and taken his place long before anyone knew about it. She requested that Elexin be freed, for she wanted to ask him many questions only he could answer. But when he was brought in he was in no shape to speak to her. Now Asmodelius demanded the weapons. She told him she wanted time to confer with Elexin and got up to leave the table. Asmodelius said in that case, he would turn the matter over to his "employer," who, he said, would be far less pleasant to deal with than he had been. All this time others had been voicing their opinions or bickering with one another. Synful in particular had become incensed with Daloki for refusing to give up the sword. Now she tried to take it from her. Asmodelius suddenly froze everyone in place, but he did not take the sword himself - this he was unable to do, the sword had to be given freely. Though it was difficult to talk, Synful offered to give him the sword if he would release everyone he held either as prisoners or under his dark command. Asmodelius agreed, and freed her from his spell. Synful took the sword from Daloki and gave it to him. Gloating, he vanished - and the darkness left Raelin, Abbey and Devek (along with Katie, who had lost her battle with the darkness during this second meeting). Synful's smirking infuriated Daloki, who delivered a vicious punch to the solar plexus that left the desert girl gasping for air. A few minutes later, Akuna appeared looking very pleased with himself. He revealed that the sword he had given Daloki was a fake. "You had to believe it was real," he told her, "so that Asmodelius would believe it." Everyone in the tavern - except Akuna and Synful - was in emotional upheaval. As Devek, Raelin and Abbey remembered what they had done while under the control of Asmodelius, they were consumed by guilt. Daloki realized that she had been a pawn - that she had, as she put it, "done the wrong thing by doing the right thing," while Synful had "done the right thing by doing the wrong thing." Meanwhile, said Akuna, Asmodelius was in a GREAT deal of trouble with his employer for having accepted the fake sword. | 9/19/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Elexin and the Darkness – Part 2 – Murder | Chronicle Society News Report - September 17th, 2009 Something had happened to Gwen Van Helsing. She recognized Daloki, but did not know Devek when he spoke to her, and when Elexin's name was mentioned, she asked who that was. Her behavior was that of a sweet and proper middle-aged woman of a bygone century. And she called Katie "Alice." Perhaps it was Gwen who had gone through the looking glass. In the tavern, the Darkness was evident, and no longer just in Raelin - Abbey had been turned as well. Daloki invited Gwen out on the lawn to get her away from them, but the next thing they knew, they were under attack. Both Abbey and Raelin transformed into winged creatures and came at them from the air. Daloki shielded them against Raelin's fire, heat and lava, but could not prevent Abbey from grabbing Gwen in her claws and flying away with her. Gwen seemed oblivious, still thinking she was walking back toward the tavern. Raelin set the tavern on fire, then flew up to meet Abbey. In the next few minutes, while her friends watched helplessly, Raelin shredded Gwen's body mercilessly while Abbey dealt severe injuries to Katie, who had flown after them in one of her airborne forms. Finally, the two Dark beasts took Gwen between them and pulled her apart. As Gwen's blood rained from the sky, Abbey zoomed back down into the tavern, hunting for her new "toy" that she'd hidden there. The "toy" was Gwen's blessed sword, Akuna. As Abbey picked it up, Daloki hoped it would reject the Darkness - and it did, flying from Abbey's hands to Dal's own. A moment later, a beam of white light appeared from the sword, and the light coalesced into the form of an old man. He took the sword from Dal, changing it into a staff short enough to be used as a cane, and flung power at Raelin and Abbey, who crashed to the ground, the Darkness temporarily driven out. The old man, the spirit of Akuna, insisted that Abbey and Raelin's injuries be tended. "All life is sacred," he said. As they walked toward the place where the two had fallen, Daloki mentioned what Gwen had said - that she always comes back to life, but not strongly, not well, when the Akuna is not with her. The old man smiled a deep smile and said, "She knows her way home." He also told Daloki something disturbing. The tavern, he said, has its own energy, and every time it is restored from destruction, it gives energy to those in its surroundings. Thus, if the cursed pistol is there when this happens just a few more times, the psychopathic spirit Lucy could escape from the gun. With gold thread taken from Akuna's robe, Abbey and Raelin were bound, then their injuries tended. The comic relief waiters rebuilt the tavern once again, and Devek, Zazel and Synful healed Katie. Akuna folded a piece of parchment in an origami-like way and it became a prison cell placed in one of the tavern's corners. In this cell, Abbey and Rae were placed. Now Akuna and Daloki had another conversation. What he told her shook her to her core: That she is the only one who cannot be made a vessel of the Darkness. Ironically, it is the darkness of the pain she constantly endures that protects her. The last thing Daloki heard that night before she left the tavern was Gwen's voice in her head saying, "I will be back, my friend." | 9/16/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

Elexin and the Darkness – Part 1 | Chronicle Society News Report - September 16, 2009 Prologue Ever since shortly after he had become human again, the former vampire Elexin had been crossing from portal to portal, rarely seen, hard to find. But today he had appeared in the tavern and the horror had begun. Part 1 Raelin sat in a chair in the tavern, her head in her hands. Blood seeped from a bullet wound in her foot: a wound that she thought had been inflicted on her by Gwendolyn Van Helsing. Except Gwen claimed she hadn’t seen Rae all day long. She hadn’t even been to the tavern. Elexin's son Romausi confirmed that he and Gwen had been in Haven all morning. What’s worse is that after being shot, Raelin had found a gun in her pocket, a warm gun, a gun with one shot fired. Romausi had taken it from her. She sat there and held her head and tried to remember. She remembered Gwen appearing in the tavern. She knew it. She had been standing right over there. She remembered her pulling out her gun, laughing manically, pointing it at her foot, and firing. Being shot, even if it is just in the foot, is not something you forget. And then Gwen had put the gun to her own head. Raelin could see it so clearly in her memory. The way the barrel shone in the dim light of the tavern, the way her face had looked, half mad with rage, and then, she had pulled the trigger… and disappeared. Blood poured from her foot still, dampening the makeshift bandage that she had wrapped around it. She sighed. This was turning out to be a terrible day. Part 2 Gwendolyn Van Helsing was aging, rapidly. Wrinkles were creeping into her flawless face. Her tight, lustrous skin was beginning to droop. Age marks were appearing across her body. And it was happening faster… and faster. Daloki leapt to her feet at the sight of her friend in such a state. Others came to help. Panic, fear, but worst of all, a feeling of helplessness pervaded the tavern. Then, between weak panting breaths, Gwen was able to whisper “Vial…” At this the warrior Darigaz’s ears picked up. “A vial? I have a vial… a vial Gwen gave me earlier.” He produced the strange bottle and when Gwendolyn saw it, she pointed weakly. “That's it.” Daloki quickly snatched the vial and administered its contents. There was an immediate effect. Gwen’s body stopped aging, her skin tightened, the luster returned to her eyes. As Daloki led her to a couch where she could recover, Gwen explained that the potion would only stop the process for a while, “maybe a week… maybe less.” Gwen then told a terrible story. After she came home from her morning in Haven, she was attacked by Elexin and Raelin. Rae had stolen Gwen's powerful weapons, the cursed pistol Lucy and the blessed sword Akuna. Then Elexin and Raelin, in her Phoenix form, began slaughtering the serving staff of Elexin's home, and Raelin set the building on fire. “I am 150 years old. Without Akuna, time will catch up with me, and I’ll die.” At that point Raelin appeared, her normal carefree self, flopping through the door with a whistle and a grin. At her appearance chaos broke out. Angry shouting, accusations; fingers were pointed, and she was accused of murder, no, worse than murder, mass murder. Her friend Darigaz rushed her outside, and the two of them tried to sort out what was going on. Raelin had no memory of murder, no memory of attacking Gwen. All she knew was that she had been shot in the foot earlier that day, and that a gun had appeared in her pocket afterwards missing a bullet. Meanwhile inside, Daloki used her mental abilities to put Gwendolyn into a light trance. With a heart beating in fear and worry, she asked her to see the truth, the real Truth, about Raelin and Elexin. “It was them. They attacked me… stole my weapons… It was them - but not them. Dark Rae, Dark Elexin… He called her his Dark Childe.” Troubled by these dark portents, | 9/16/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
