Great Mac Info
As a recent convert from Windows it is sometimes tricky finding out about the Mac’s nuances. Well Mac Geek Gab is the place to do just that. The show is a great blend of layman’s computing info (right up my alley) and the really geeky stuff. I’ve found info on system management and maintenance (very different from Windows) to cool tricks on how to improve my digital photos. If you are new to Macs it is worth your time to download a few of the podcasts to see where they take you. Also their show notes on macobserver.com are the best I’ve come across. Any major issue or program addressed in the podcast has a link under that week’s notes. So when I am listening through my iTrip in the car, I don’t have to write anything down; I just go to the show notes.
Can even make the 'terminal' fun!
Gentle, friendly, non-condescending, humorous, and knowledgeable are apt monikers for these guys. A breath of fresh air!
Great Podcast
John and Dave do a truly great podcast. This is much like asking two really professional, entertaining friends for some advice. The listener greats some really great advice without the condescension of many other shows. These guys are genuine. Regarding some of the other reviews -Are they perfect? Of course not. But you more than get your money's worth. Here's what you do get- lots of good information and reviews. You also get a goodly dose of entertainment. The mini-rants are cetainly a highlight of the show. Many times you'll find yourself saying " Yes" to those rants. They also keep the show to a pleasant 40 minutes or so. My only complaint would be that I'd really like to listen to them even more often.
