A few more and it will be perfect....
The opening show is a well done for a first try. Great banter, great transitions, great interviews - a few minor issues - but overall, it beats about 90% of the stuff that's out there that's done in someone's house or basement without the production help of a radio/television station.
Mark my words - give these cats a few more episodes to work out the bugs and "The Projection Booth" will be the place to go on iTunes to hear long form discussions about cult/b-movies.
These guys know and love their subject matter and it shows
Mike and Justin really like movies. This is one of those podcasts where maybe I have heard of the movie, possibly even seen it, but the hosts open up a treasure box of information and color about the film, director, actors, and back-story of the production that you'd never suspect just from being a casual consumer of the film. I really envy their ability to do that. I've been doing a weekly podcast (BadMoviePodcast.com) for over a year now, and can assure you that this isn't an easy hobby to have, and consistently crank out content on schedule and of this quality. These guys are off to a powerful start.
Justin seems to be adept at getting the key players to sit down for interviews with them, and that's going to be a real asset to the show. It's nice to hear these dedicated authors put down the keyboard, grab a mic and interview the people they've written so much about.
awesome sauce!
by the 2nd episode, projection booth was my fave film podcast! funny, good analysis, interesting off-screen tidbits, nice interviews... the whole enchilada!
