47 episodes

The Prospectives is in its fourth season, but its first as a podcast. It was originally published as an illustrated serial on Instagram for three seasons. Each season is standalone, so you can jump right into the podcast without having missed anything.

In this fourth season, our narrator Luke trades an aimless existence in New York for a secret double life in Berlin, where he is quickly pulled into the queer, expat, and nightlife communities. The people he meets, the music he hears, and the mischief he pursues all play a role in his antiheroic odyssey. He recounts the story for you here, producing and curating lots of great music along the way.

The Prospectives is a fictional podcast written and performed by Adam Hurly (@adamhurly), and all original music is produced by Joy Joseph (@joyjosephmusic). The series is edited by Jason Oberholtzer of Charts and Leisure. (www.chartsandleisure.com)

Follow us on Instagram @TheProspectives for each episode's artwork, drawn by Paul Tuller (@paul.tuller and @vectorescapade), and to leave feedback or chat with other listeners.

You can also download PDFs of the first three series at www.theprospectives.com. Each season features a different illustrator and follows a unique LGBTQ narrative.

perfect to binge

i’m obsessed with this podcast! the idea is so original and makes me feel very nostalgic( prob bc i’m listening in BK during the age of social distancing). Everyone behind this podcast is extremely talented. I’ve been looking for something to listen to while painting and this is perfect. I’ve been hooked for 2 days and I’m already on episode 30😳 It’s made me laugh, cry, & even kind of horny.

Get ready to be hooked!

I love listening to Luke’s adventures when I am going about life, on my way to work or cooking or taking a walk. It’s as if he is my best friend who’s sending me voice recordings to catch up. That’s how genuine and intimate the storytelling and narration of Adam Hurly is. Luke’s stories and his self reflection often makes me cry and laugh out loud while also giving me a lot of thinking points about relationships, friendships, relocating, running away, Berlin, loss of a parent and how to deal with it and much more. Cannot recommend it enough! It has healing powers <3

All the feels

I am on Episode 26 and I am absolutely hooked on these characters! I listen during my commute and I find myself laughing out loud or even sometimes tearing up. Adam is an incredible storyteller with a real gift for engaging his audience. This series will take you on a wild rollercoaster of emotions and you won’t want to get off!
