REP: "The Triplets" Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin | Guests include former Dallas Cowboy greats Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin. To their recollection, the famed Triplets of the dynastic 1990s Dallas Cowboys have sat for an interview together only a handful of times, the last time coming just before Emmitt Smith was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That means the podcast chat you're about to hear represents the first time Smith, Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin were interviewed at the same time with the entire group enjoying Hall of Fame status. Call it a Triplet Bump for The Rich Eisen Podcast. Your humble narrator sat down with Smith, Aikman and Irvin late last week, about an hour before Smith held his 3rd annual charity dinner in a suburb outside of Dallas. This year's dinner, however, also served as a defacto reunion, honoring the 1992 Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys. Yes, it has been 20 years since the Triplets won their first of 3 Super Bowls and a host of luminaries from that team -- including Charles Haley, Jay Novacek, Tony Casillas, Jerry Jones and more -- convened to celebrate and, of course, to help Emmitt and his wife Pat raise money for local charities. (Cellphone photos I took from the evening can be found to the right.) Emmitt, Troy and Michael reminisced about the days when they first met to the drama-filled seasons that, despite the much documented turmoil, still yielded three championship seasons. Of course, all three men thought that those Cowboys teams could have won more than just the three titles. Stay tuned to hear why. Aikman, in particular, had a very interesting take on the Jerry/Jimmy Johnson rift and how it leaves him disappointed to this very day. Before we all hit the banquet room, I made sure the Triplets hit on the current state of the Dallas Cowboys, who, unbelievably, have still won only two playoff games since Emmitt, Aikman and Irvin won their 3rd and final Super Bowl. Enjoy this rare opportunity to hear three Hall of Fame athletes, raconteurs and friends swap stories and memories together, all for your podcast listening pleasure. The TV version airs Thursday on NFL Network. | 5/15/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

REP: Peter Berg | Guests include the director of one if this summer’s most anticipated blockbusters, Peter Berg, whose film “Battleship” hits theaters May 18th. Director, actor and producer Peter Berg joins Rich in studio to discuss a variety of topics, ranging from his new action-packed flick “Battleship” to his critically acclaimed television series “Friday Night Lights” and more. “Battleship,” which has an all-star cast consisting of Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch, Rihanna and Brooklyn Decker, hits theaters next Friday domestically after a successful international premiere in Tokyo last month. It also stars Greg Gadson, a former Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran who lost both of his legs in combat and is the current director of the U.S. Army’s Wounded Warrior program. Berg, however, didn’t seem to care much about hawking his latest movie, wanting to discuss instead an initiative in sports that he is incredibly passionate about. Concussion prevention and player safety are very important to Berg, and he genuinely believes the problem -- and the solution – begins at the youth football level. He, along with others like Bobby Hosea and LaVar Arrington, are trying to change the system and how America’s youth are taught the game, working to ensure proper technique and form are implemented from the beginning. Berg’s passion about player safety stems from a real-life incident that took place while he was on location in Austin, Texas preparing to shoot the first season of “Friday Night Lights.” It’s a fascinating listen, so enjoy and, as always, thanks for downloading. | 5/9/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rich Eisen Podcast: Cris Collinsworth, Chris Fowler, Josh Charles, Steve Mariucci and The Worm | Championship weekend has arrived. Ravens-Patriots. Giants-49ers. One matchup that many saw developing in the NFL ether the past several months. The other, not so much. Both, however, feature the same stakes: One team moves on to the ultimate championship game while the other faces the reality of having pushed the same rock up the same hill for yet another season only to finish oh-so-close and yet so far. And for us fans? Well, we face the same conundrum as we always face this time of year: Do we celebrate Championship Weekend because it's seven to eight hours of some of the most intense action played at the highest level with the stakes nearly as high as they can possibly be? Or do we hold a wake, because it's the last NFL day featuring multiple games for eight months? On this podcast, we give a nod to the football void we're about to encounter while choosing to celebrate the rest... including the way we're about to fill the football void. First, we sink our teeth into the final two games of the conference schedule: the AFC North-champion Ravens against the AFC East-champion Patriots followed by the NFC East-champion Giants visiting the NFC West-champion 49ers. And who better to bite into that massive football sandwich than one of the men who will bring the action of Super Bowl XLVI into your living rooms on Super Sunday: NBC's Cris Collinsworth. Cris was making the rounds for the FedEx Air & Ground Awards (which you can vote on at NFL.com/FedEx) when we got into the who's, what's, why's and how's of Championship Sunday and how matters might play out for everyone. Cris mentions which of the four teams left is the most well-balanced and thus has the best shot of winning it all. Be sure to listen for that answer. Next up is a longtime friend of mine from back in my Bristol days: ESPN's Chris Fowler. One of the best television hosts in the business phones in from Melbourne, Australia, where he's honchoing ESPN's coverage of the Australian Open. While having Fowler phone in from 19 time zones away (we did try to SKYPE first) in the middle of the first major tennis tournament of the year and on the cusp of the most important NFL games of the year may not seem immediately obvious, know this: The NFL is the only major American sport in which the offseason goes into full swing while the postseason builds to a crescendo. Indeed, with the East-West Shrine Game airing on NFL Network this Saturday and the Senior Bowl the next, who better to ask about the top talent lining up to join the NFL than the college football voice of his generation? Just how good is Robert Griffin III? Is Andrew Luck all that people are making him out to be? Was Fowler surprised at how well Tim Tebow fared at quarterback for his beloved Denver Broncos? Thrilled to have one of my good friends on the show. And the first to phone in from a different continent, Nigel Spackle notwithstanding. Ah, yes. That brings me to The Worm. Longtime podcast favorite and former NFL Network senior producer Jason Wormser visited the studio and why not -- his G-Men are on a big-time roll. And as they head into San Francisco for an improbable NFC Championship Game matchup, I matched up The Worm with his old colleague and my "NFL GameDay Morning" compadre Steve Mariucci. Of course, the first order of business had to be the 2003 Wild-Card game in which Mooch's 49ers came from 24 points down to survive a last-ditch, botched, highly controversial field-goal attempt by the Giants. Fans of the is podcast have heard this story told many times: The Worm was in Candlestick Park that day and while performing "Red Hat" duties for the FOX broadcast, wanted to strangle then Giants head coach Jim Fassel for blowing the lead and referee Ron Winter for not calling a pass interference penalty on the botched field-goal attempt. Once emotions died down from that chat, The Worm and Mooch actually settled in to a quality, level-headed discussion of how this Giants-49ers affair might turn out. Rich Eisen Podcast: Hue Jackson, Mark Wahlberg, Champ Bailey, Michael Lombardi and Jim Mora | Guests include the former head coach of the Raiders, Hue Jackson, who joins Rich just one day after being fired in Oakland. Following Coach Jackson, the star of the action-thriller film "Contraband", Mark Wahlberg phones up the podcast to discuss his beloved Patriots and their chances against the Tim Tebow led Denver Broncos... And speaking of the Denver Broncos, 11-time Pro-Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey joins the program and weighs in from Broncos Cam on how the divisional round matchup with New England will end differently then when the two teams met just a few short weeks ago. Things don't end there though, when podcast regular and one of the best information men in the business, Michael Lombardi joins Rich to talk about the latest rumors surrounding the Dolphins courting of Jeff Fisher and recap the wild-card round of the playoffs. Last, but certainly not least is the Saints all-time winning coach, Jim Mora, who discusses the Saints chances at a title this year. And as the official movie reviewer of the Rich Eisen Podcast, Rich couldn't let coach go without getting his predictions for the weekends Golden Globe awards... It's a fun, informative listen, thanks for downloading and enjoy. | 1/11/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rich Eisen Podcast: Tony Gonzalez, Brian Williams, Michael Lombardi and Jim Brockmire | Its a special lineup for the Wild Card Weekend edition of the Podcast -- a legend of the booth, a trusted American voice and the most prolific tight end in the history of the National Football League, all in one show First up, Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez joins us just mere days before taking on the Giants for the right to move on to either Green Bay or San Francisco. Would you believe that , with all the records and stats requisite for a first-ballot selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Gonzalez does not have a single playoff win under his belt? He enters Sunday's game 0-for-4 in career playoff appearances and, of course, we talk about whether that's on his mind when he suits up this weekend. We also hit on whether or not the Falcons' inconsistencies on offense are behind them, the skills of rookie Julio Jones and the unreal talent that his success seems to have spawned at the position through the league Next up, one of my favorite guests we've had on the podcast to date: NBC News' Brian Williams, the most trusted newsman of this generation who also just happens to be one of the driest wits and best raconteurs of all-time. Williams took a few minutes to join us from his set at 30 Rock during the middle of a very busy day -- Iowa Caucus Tuesday -- to discuss his beloved Giants. Williams is a New Jersey native who grew up loving the Giants while attempting a (sadly short) run at high school gridiron glory of his own. It is a tale of woe not to be missed. Williams chimes in on the controversy-ravaged Jets and why it's difficult for him to predict a winner on the Lions-Saints wild-card matchup on his network Saturday night. Then we sent him back to the world of Romney, Santorum et al. Another Jersey boy -- Michael Lombardi -- joins the show to make heads/tails about the vacant coaching situations and why there aren't openings in Chicago, where the GM got fired, and San Diego, where the GM didn't. Why did the Colts finally part ways with the Polians and what's their next step on the Peyton Manning front? What in the world can the jets do with a disgruntled receiver, a regressing quarterback and coach who is suddenly under fire despite have gone to the AFC Championship Game in each of his first two years? You'll be especially keen to hear to whom Lombardi compares the current Jets. A hint: it's not very flattering. Lastly, a fourth visit to the studio by the legend of the booth himself, Jim Brockmire. The Hall of Fame announcer whose famous on-air meltdown has been on the comeback trail thanks much in part to this podcast, on which he has delivered the plays of the month for September, October and November. Now, Jim is back with the plays for the month of December and also with a strange looking half-goatee. There's lots to discuss with Jim, who also laments the firing of the Polians and gives his latest unique take on his favorite topic: Tim Tebow. It's all in one mega Wild Card Weekend podcast to enjoy. Lots in the hopper for the divisional round podcast on tap for next week. Stay tuned | 1/4/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rich Eisen Podcast: Mike Mayock, Jeff Schaffer, Alec Berg, Antonio Stefan and Jake Robinson | It seemed almost like yesterday when we were fearing we wouldn’t have a season at all and, yet, here we are – Week 17, the final week of 2011 and also of the 2011 NFL regular season. Fifteen teams eliminated, 17 teams still in the mix for the Lombardi Trophy, all leading to 32 possible playoff seeding scenarios in the NFC and a whopping 128 in the AFC, all depending on the results of 12 of the 16 games set to be played on New Year’s Day 2012. How might all this come out in the Week 17 wash? So many opinions abound, as you might imagine. And, as usual, this podcast casts a wide net to provide the widest possible spectrum of thoughts and ideas. To that end, this week’s guests are a world-class NFL analyst, two executive producers and writers of the genius “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and collaborators with Sasha Baron Cohen and the return of two of the most NFL-savvy grade school students this football-crazed country can produce. First up, Mike Mayock, who has gone straight from the Thursday Night Football booth to the film room, where he has spent every waking minute since the Texans-Colts TNF season-finale boning up for the Senior Bowl and Combine that is, yes, right around the corner. We caught Mike in a break from his film session on the day in which Sports Illustrated named him the Sports Media Person of the Year of 2011. Of course, he didn’t want to talk about either, but preferred to rather dug right into the playoff picture as well as the possible playoff futures of those already with a punched ticket including the swooning Texans and the surging Saints. Does the Patriots lack of consistent defense concern him? What about the Detroit Lions prospects? Who does he think will win the AFC West and NFC East? Listen for all. Next up, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” executive producer and creator of the superb fantasy-football comedy “The League” Jeff Schaffer returns to the podcast studio and, this time, he’s joined by fellow “Curb” executive producer Alec Berg. Along with producer/writer David Mandel, the pair spent several years on the staff of “Seinfeld” back in the day and are currently working on the next Sasha Baron Cohen movie “The Dictator.” This conversation went all over the map, from fantasy football to Alec’s recent stint staying with in-laws in South Florida to Jeff and Alec’s take on the post-game chest thumping between Rex Ryan and Brandon Jacobs. And that was before we got a real-time update on the possibility of a ninth season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and where Larry David stands on that issue. All I can say is this: the fact that the Rich Eisen Podcast has been a factor in the process has been confirmed. Of course, I also had to pump them for information on “The Dictator,” details about which have been very few and far between in the press. Hilarious chat not to be missed. Lastly, I threw open the studio doors for the only guests who were available because they are on Christmas break – 11-year old fifth grader Antonio Stefan and 10-year old fourth grader Jake Robinson, two of the biggest NFL fans there are in these United States. For those who remember their last visit to the show back in October, you won’t be disappointed. For those who may not completely comprehend Antonio and Jake’s level of football IQ, they fire off opinions on who will win the AFC West, NFC East, AFC North and who will be seeded where 1-through-6 in the AFC and NFC playoffs. They also offer up several refined opinions on who should be the MVP and Coach of the Year. From the mouths of babes… | 12/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rich Eisen Podcast: Dan Patrick, Dave Dameshek and Michael Lombardi with Jason LaCanfora | Guests include Dan Patrick, who joins Rich from the studios of his immensely popular and successful radio and TV show, appropriately titled "The DP Show". It's always a fun time when these two get together as stories of the past are shared as well as DP's thoughts on the closing weeks of what has been another incredible NFL season. Next up from NFL Fantasy Live is Dave Dameshek, who makes his inaugural appearance on the podcast. No stranger to medium himself, Shek also plays host on his own 'cast called "The Dave Dameshek Football Program". His Shame Report and podcast can also be found on NFL.com. We close this holiday week podcast with two of the best inside men in the NFL, Michael Lombardi and Jason LaCanfora sit down with Rich as he hits them all of the burning questions after a crazy week 15 that has left more questions than answers in two divisions. Who will emerge in the AFC West? Can The Eagles go from down and out to the 4th seed and winning the NFC East? It's all hit on with Rich, Jason and the Godfather himself, Michael Lombardi. Rich Eisen Podcast: Matt Damon, Al Michaels, Rob Lowe and Mike Florio | Guests include Academy Award winning actor and die-hard Patriots fan Matt Damon, who joins Rich from NFL headquarters in New York. A New England native, Damon chats with Rich about the Patriots chances at a title this season, where he was when he first met Tom Brady, and much much more... Including his new movie "We Bought A Zoo", directed by the super talented Cameron Crowe that hits theatres Friday, December 23rd. Up next is the voice of "Sunday Night Football" on NBC, Al Michaels, who is fresh off fantastic finish in Dallas that saw Tony Romo and the Cowboys let another fourth quarter lead slip away. As always it's an informative chat when Al is in-studio and we look forward to him and Cris Collinsworth on the call for Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis. Our second big time actor of the show phones in fresh off of hosting the Country Music Television awards, when big time Colts fan, Rob Lowe dials up the program. Like millions of Americans, Lowe was suffering from the Fantasy Football blues, after a devastating loss in week 14, at the hands of his very own son no less. But it certainly isn't bad being Rob Lowe these days, as the bestselling author of "Stories I Only Tell My Friends" recently announced he'll be penning a follow up book titled "Love Life" and also has a new film currently in theatres called "I Melt With You" co-starring Jeremy Piven. Like we said, it certainly isn't bad being Rob Lowe. This week's show rounds out with the founder of Pro Football Talk, Mike Florio, who shares his take on the James Harrison hit that nearly knocked out Colt McCoy, and the leagues handling with a 1-game suspension. Florio also shares his thoughts on some of the recent coaching vacancies and where he thinks some of the more high profiled "retired" coaches may land in the offseason. It's a fun, star studded podcast to get you ready for not one, but two games on NFL Network this week. Thanks for downloading | 12/14/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rich Eisen Podcast: Bob Costas, Matt Hasselbeck, Michael Silver and Kara Henderson | Guests include NBC Sports Bob Costas, Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck, and Yahoo! Sports NFL writer Michael Silver alongside Kara Henderson. Ground was broken on Monday Night Football as podcast favorite Maurice Jones-Drew fulfilled a promise to Rich and performed "The Podcast" end zone dance after scoring Jacksonville's first touchdown of the evening. Unfortunately for MJD and the Jaguars things didn't end as joyous as they began versus the Chargers as they fell 38-14. It certainly wasn't a lack of effort by Jones-Drew who had 26 touches for 188 total yards and the touchdown. From all of us here at the podcast, we appreciate your efforts MJD and say thank you. As for this week's podcast Rich chats with 19-time Emmy Award winner and the host of Sunday Night Football on NBC Bob Costas. As you can imagine the pair talk about Bob's recently televised conversation with former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, and how similar allegations have arisen at his alma mater of Syracuse surrounding former assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine. The conversation then switches gears to the gridiron and Costas shares his take on something he's been outspoken on in recent weeks, egregious end zone celebrations like those of Bills WR Stevie Johnson week 12 versus the Jets. (fear not MJD, your name didn't come up) Following Costas we fire up Titans Cam in Nashville for one of our all-time favorite guests as Tennessee QB Matt Hasselbeck sits down to talk with Rich. The Titans are 7-5 and have a realistic shot of making the playoffs in Matt's first year with the team. This is after a rough start by their all-pro running back Chris Johnson, who now seems to be hitting his stride carrying the ball. Hasselbeck gives a possible explanation behind CJ2K's turnaround and how first year head coach Mike Munchak has the team buying in to what he is selling in the Music City. The podcast rounds out with Yahoo! Sports NFL columnist Mike Silver, who is joined by Kara Henderson and nothing is out of bounds for this trio. Multiple debates breakout, ranging from their individual palate preferences when it comes to cinnamon, to which teams on the fringe will not be on the field come playoff time in January...and much, much more. It's a fun listen, and as always thanks for downloading. Next week, New England Patriots fan and the star of the upcoming film "We Bought A Zoo" actor Matt Damon joins the show, plus the voice of Sunday Night Football on NBC Al Michaels comes back in studio for a visit. | 12/6/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rich Eisen Podcast: Charles Woodson, Adam Carolla, Jim Brockmire and Sam Farmer | It's December. It's time for the stretch run. It's put up or shut up time, which means it's time to raise our game here on the podcast. As you'll notice from here on out, we intend to do just that with our guest list. To that end, we kick off this podcast with a future Hall of Famer and one of the greatest players the University of Michigan has ever sent forth into the pro ranks: Charles Woodson of the Green Bay Packers. So much to talk about with him and we do: going undefeated in 2011, Suh's 2-game suspension, Michigan's turnaround season, Urban Meyer's arrival to the ultimate rivalry, Tom Brady's ascension from backup on his college team to all-time NFL great, their Tuck Rule moment and....whether, after 16 seasons, Woodson might hang em up with Green Bay repeats. Loved the chat, hope you do too. Next up is Adam Carolla, who thankfully came back in-studio after I booted two footballs into his posterior during his last in-studio visit. As always, we run the gamut with Carolla, from his crusade to extend goal posts to the collapse of his beloved Rams to the most inventive analogy for the Dallas Cowboys I've ever heard. Carolla is at his A-game finest here. As always, please download the Aceman's own podcast. It was an outrageously busy week in the NFL with the most talked about team being, of all teams, the Jacksonville Jaguars. You normally do attract large amounts of attention when you, say, fire your coach and announce the sale of your team in the same press conference as Wayne Weaver did Tuesday. What are the ramifications of the Jaguars sale league-wide? Does this mean anything for your team, especially with Los Angeles expecting to be open for business shortly? We dial up the foremost expert on the subject, Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times. It's an in-depth conversation that should answer most of your questions on the issue. And I'm talking to you Viking fans, Jaguar fans, Ram fans, Charger fans, Raider fans, Bills fans and 49er fans. Follow Sam on Twitter Lastly, we throw open the studio doors for legendary sportscaster Jim Brockmire for a third time this season. Jim returns to deliver the plays of the month of November as only he can. He also offers his unique take on hot-button issues in the league, including Tim Tebow's emergence and Suh's Thanksgiving stomp. We know many of you complain about HEARING the top plays instead of SEEING them so stay tuned to this space to view the video of Brockmire's plays of the month. Enjoy folks. Rich Eisen Podcast: Matt Leinart, Nick Bakay, Stephen J Dubner and Brian Billick | As Week 12 approaches, the storyline has shifted dramatically in the NFL with two playoff-contending teams potentially losing their signal callers for weeks, if not the remainder of the regular season. Jay Cutler’s thumb injury puts the ball in the hands of backup Caleb Hanie for Chicago. Meanwhile, the AFC South-leading Texans saw their quarterback, Matt Schaub, go down with a foot injury. Enter Matt Leinart: The former Heisman Trophy winner will get his first career start with the Texans on Sunday. Leinart sat down with Rich to chat about the big game, turning down his former USC coach’s offer to reunite in Seattle, and just exactly what went wrong in Arizona. Speaking of going wrong, Rich welcomes in studio his good friend Nick Bakay, whose Bills have been in a downward spiral since his last visit just a few weeks ago. The guys try to diagnose the problems and where things went bad for Ryan Fitzpatrick and Co. They also hit on some of the hot topics, including Tim Tebow’s Mile High comeback last Thursday against the Jets on NFL Network, and what it all means moving forward for Denver. After Bakay, Rich shifts gears and sits down with author Stephen J. Dubner. If Dubner’s name sounds familiar, it should, he co-wrote the New York Times bestseller “Freakonomics”, which has sold more than four million copies and has also been turned into a successful documentary film. After penning a follow-up book titled “SuperFreakonomics”, Dubner has decided to take his unique approach of looking at issues in society, and turn it to the gridiron in a series for NFL.com and NFL Network called “Football Freakonomics”. Rich and Stephen chat about some of the interesting ways that common practices and theories such as “Icing the Kicker” and “Momentum” can be looked at through data and either proven, or debunked. The show rounds out with our resident coach, as Brian Billick and Rich chat on a variety of topics from around the league. Next on the podcast is Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who attempts to atone for his Monday night faux-pas from a few weeks back, when he fumbled on the goal line against the Baltimore Ravens. MJD's fumble cost REP fans dearly, as it prevented the debut of his highly anticipated end-zone celebration dubbed "The Podcast." To say Pocket Hercules felt bad would be an understatement as he doubled down and promised the celebration would happen in Week 13 when the Jaguars host the Chargers on "Monday Night Football." Rich Eisen Podcast: Adam Sandler and Jim Brockmire | Guests include actor Adam Sandler in-studio and legend of the booth Jim Brockmire is back counting down the top plays of October. We NFL fans loved him as the liquid-loving linebacker Bobby Boucher in “The Waterboy” and the man remade “The Longest Yard” for crying out loud. He’s a big-time Jets fan and may be one of the funniest and coolest dudes walking the planet. He’s Adam Sandler and he kindly paid the podcast an in-studio visit prior to the release of his latest movie “Jack and Jill,” in which he plays both a brother and his sister. Yes, a man AND a woman. Indeed, he’s come a long way from The Mean Machine. In one of the more relaxed, funny and chill conversations we’ve ever had in the year-plus history of this show, Sandler talks about how far he thinks his Jets are going, his belief in Mark Sanchez and his run-in with Tom Brady, who thought Sandler was a Patriot fan because of his New England roots. Before getting to his movie, Sandler drops some news about his next still-untitled film coming out next summer: Jets coach Rex Ryan is in it. And he plays a Boston lawyer who, yes, likes the Patriots. Give a listen. And also please go see “Jack and Jill,” which premieres next Friday on November 11th. And then we throw open the studio doors for the return of the Legend of the Booth himself – Jim Brockmire. Again, if you don’t know the story of Jim, please check on the short documentary that “Funny Or Die” put together about his stellar decades-long Hall of Fame career that came to a screeching halt with an ill-advised, cheating wife-related meltdown on the air. Last month, Jim chose my podcast as the place from which to kick-start his career comeback and the result was awe-inspiring. He nailed the narration of the Plays of the Month of September so it was a no-brainer to have him back on to deliver the Plays of the Month of October for this show and for NFL.com. Please give him all the encouragement he needs to keep on going and use the momentum to get himself back in the game. For those of you searching for hard-core football talk, please check out the podcast earlier in the week with NBC Sports/Sports Illustrated’s Peter King and NFL Network/Fox Sports’ information man Jay Glazer. Lots of great nuggets and deep conversation in there and also, as in this podcast, some laughs. Next week, NBC’s Bob Costas will join the show with, as usual, some other surprises in store. Rich Eisen Podcast: Peter King and Jay Glazer | Guests include Sports Illustrated senior writer Peter King and FOX Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer. After another spectacular week in the National Football League, Rich decided to dial up two of the best information men in the business. First up from NFL headquarters in New York is King, who gives his take on the Chargers' late-game debacle in Kansas City on "Monday Night Football", and how Chiefs coach Todd Haley has his team rolling and in great position at the halfway point of the season after an 0-3 start. The conversation then shifts around the league as Rich and King touch on some of the hotter topics in the NFL from recent weeks, including the quick rise and fall of Tim Tebow in Denver. And speaking of Tebow, Jay Glazer has an interesting take on John Fox's Mile-High quarterback dilemma, and how his hand might have been somewhat forced into playing the former Heisman Trophy winner. After Tebow's more-than-lackluster performance Sunday against the Lions, Rich asks Glazer who he can expect to be calling the plays in the huddle when the Jets take on the Broncos on NFL Network's "Thursday Night Football" matchup in Week 10? Glazer's answer might surprise some of you. It's an information-packed podcast with two of the very best in the business, so enjoy and thanks for downloading. Be sure to check back Thursday as Rich has a star-studded podcast scheduled as "The Sandman" himself, Adam Sandler, joins Rich in-studio to talk Jets, Tom Brady, and his new comedy "Jack and Jill" that hits theatres Nov. 11. Also making his triumphant return to recap the top NFL plays for the month of October is the legend of the booth, Jim Brockmire. So tune into NFL Network at 4:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. | 11/1/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rich Eisen Podcast: Arian Foster, Coach Calipari and Michael Wilbon | Guests include Houston Texans star running back Arian Foster, plus University of Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari skypes in, and “Pardon the Interruption” co-host Michael Wilbon also dials up the program. First up, Arian Foster joins Rich fresh off a dynamite performance in week 7 where he totaled 234 all-purpose yards and 3 touchdowns versus the Titans. After missing nearly all of the first three games of the 2011 season, Foster seems to back in the 2010 form that garnered him the NFL rushing title. Rich and Foster chat about the Texans chances this year in the AFC as well as the likelihood of Andre Johnson returning in week 8 from a hamstring injury that has had him sidelined for the past few weeks. Undrafted out of Tennessee in 2009, Foster sheds some light on a draft day gaffe that may have caused a certain team in the Pacific Northwest not to call his name in the seventh-round. Next up, the podcast shifts gears a bit as Rich welcomes in the tech savvy head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats when John Calipari skypes in from his office Lexington, KY. A native of Pittsburgh, Coach Cal is a huge Steelers fan and shares some of his favorite memories as a fan. And what better person to impart his wisdom on proper post game handshake etiquette then a college basketball coach where the handshake tradition also takes place after every game. Coach Cal brings his ‘A’ game to the podcast and we‘re looking forward to having back on soon. The podcast rounds out with Michael Wilbon, the co-host of the immensely popular “Pardon the Interruption” that recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. Rich and Michael go around the league and Wilbon has some not so flattering comments for the Ravens rather lackluster performance on Monday Night Football this past week versus the Jaguars. It’s a fun show with three great guests. Next week’s lineup is all booked and ready to go as we welcome in the hilarious Adam Sandler in-studio, Sports Illustrated senior writer Peter King, and a legend of the broadcast booth as Jim Brockmire makes his triumphant return to the podcast counting down the top plays of October in the NFL. Enjoy and thanks for downloading. | 10/27/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rich Eisen Podcast: Steve Wyche, Kara Henderson and The Worm | Guests include NFL.com senior writer Steve Wyche, who stops by fresh off attending Terrell Owens' workout held Tuesday in Southern California. Wyche has the inside information on how the workout went, what potential suitors might be out there for a 37-year-old wide receiver who's coming off major reconstructive knee surgery, as well as when he envisions Owens landing with a team and more. Rich and Steve also go around the league to recap Week 7 and look ahead to Week 8 in the National Football League. Next up on the podcast, Kara Henderson makes her return, albeit brief, as she's joined by none other than "The Worm." It's a fun, quick-hitting podcast, so be sure to check back Thursday as Houston Texans star running back Arian Foster joins Rich, plus University of Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari skypes in, and "Pardon the Interruption" co-host Michael Wilbon also dials up the program. I mean, if I told you at this point last week that there would be a national sports referendum on the post-game handshake because two emotional, high-strung coaches turned the normally genteel tradition into an episode of The Jerry Springer Show AND Carson Palmer would be getting prepared to start Week 7 for the Oakland Raiders, you’d have thought me a bit daffy. Yes? Don’t answer that. At any rate, there was lots of fodder and grist for the mill to bring up with the lead NFL play-by-play man and essential voice and face of CBS Sports for more than a generation, Jim Nantz, and the Saturday Night Live and Monday Night Football alumnus Dennis Miller. First, Nantz joined me from NFL Headquarters in New York fresh off his call of the Giants' tight victory over the Bills and got a few things off his chest, to say the least. Jim is like the anti-Gus Johnson this year, a virtual magnet for NFL blowouts up until last week’s Bills-Giants squeaker. He’s itching for some close game action, and perhaps this week’s Chargers-Jets game will provide it. Nantz previews the game he’s calling this week and handicaps the rest of the AFC field that CBS broadcasts coast-to-coast each and every week. After a fascinating football chat, we turn to Nantz’s off-the-field passion: the Nantz National Alzheimer Center that he opened in January of 2011 with Methodist Hospital in Houston. Nantz's father passsed away due to Alzheimer's in 2008 (his dad is the inspiration for his famous on-air greeting, "Hello, friends"); Nantz has taken up the cause of eradicating this disease with brio and gusto. I please ask you to learn more about Jim's Passion for the cause, his late father and this important Alzheimer Center he founded at the website: www.nantzfriends.org The podcast wraps up with the whirling dervish, Megamind of pop-culture maestro himself, Dennis Miller. It’s his third podcast appearance and, once again, this man shows off his love of the sport. I mean, he flat out loves talking ball. His take on the Coaches Gone Wild incident, the new defensive rule changes, the Cowboys' late-game play-calling in New England, as well as his remembrances of Al Davis from his days calling Monday Night Football games, are all not to be missed. I already can’t wait to have him back on the show. Enjoy. | 10/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Rich Eisen Podcast: Dennis Haysbert and Michael Silver | Guests include actor Dennis Haysbert and Yahoo! Sports NFL columnist Michael Silver. Actor Dennis Haysbert stops by the NFL Network studios to sit down with Rich as the two chat about Haysbert's favorite teams, the 49ers and Raiders. The Bay area native couldn't have picked a better day to stop by with the news of Carson Palmer's trade to Oakland being heavily discussed, as well some of Haysbert's more infamous roles, such as Pedro Cerrano in "Major League" and President David Palmer on "24". Next up is Yahoo! Sports NFL columnist Mike Silver, who discusses the Tony Romo-Jason Garrett-Jerry Jones saga in Big D after another last minute lost to New England and what it means moving forward for the Cowboys organization. Silver also touches on the implications of the Carson Palmer trade to Oakland and gives the inside details of the Chris Cooley crank call that had him being dealt to the Giants. Its good stuff, so enjoy. Stay tuned for another podcast coming out this Thursday that will feature the always opinionated Dennis Miller and CBS Sports lead play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz. Rich chats with Reed, the seven-time Pro Bowl safety , who’s fresh off a bye week and looking forward to welcoming the Houston Texans and QB Matt Schaub into Baltimore for a big AFC matchup this Sunday. Rich and Ed hit on multiple topics, including Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s rather-flattering comments about the safety during a meeting with QB Tom Brady that was featured on NFL Network’s “Bill Belichick: A Football Life.” Rich also asks Reed for this thoughts on the 2011 offensive explosion and if it’s a good or bad thing for the NFL. You won’t want to miss that. Up next is the coach who drafted Reed in 2002, as Billick stops by to chat with Rich. Billick called the Eagles-Bills game for Fox last Sunday and also will work this Sunday’s Eagles-Redskins matchup, so he has some opinions on what’s going on in the City of Brotherly Love and if coach Andy Reid’s job status is secure. Rich also hits up Coach Billick on some of the early surprises of the season, like the aforementioned 4-1 Bills and 5-0 Detroit Lions. It’s a great listen, and as always, enjoy! We’ve passed the quarter post point of the NFL regular season and in this Year of the Exploding Offense look who’s on top of the receiving world: Wes Welker, who’s on pace to smash Marvin Harrison’s single-season record for receptions and Jerry Rice’s single-season record for receiving yards. And with the Patriots fresh off a big win in Oakland and getting set to host the hated New York Jets – the team that ended its 2010 season if your memory needs refreshing -- who better to have on the podcast than Wes Welker? So, we fire up Patriots cam for him. And, yes, I do ask him if he has a message for Rex Ryan. My other guest is a returning guest: Jeff Schaffer, the co-executive producer and co-writer of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Jeff was last on the show in July when we dedicated an entire podcast to “Curb.” This time, Schaffer appears to promote a show of his very own creation: the fantasy-football inspired comedy “The League,” which premieres this Thursday night for a third season on FX. Lots to talk about with Jeff, including his own fantasy leagues and how he incorporates them into the show. Which NFL stars are set to make cameos on his show this year? And then there’s this: How can he can create/write/direct a show about a 2011 fantasy football league when he conceives and shoots most of the scripts during the summer? Of course, I can’t let Schaffer leave the studio without asking him the origin of the newest classic “Curb” storylines from this past season (Pig Parker, Sh*t Bow, Bill Buckner, Palestinian Chicken Restaurant to name a few) and how he and his writing partners come up with this stuff with Larry David. Then, I press him on the most important issue of all: Will there be a ninth season of “Curb”? His answer... breaks entertainment news, which, as you know, I love to do on the podcast. Keep an eye peeled for another show this Thursday with NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi, former boxing champ Sugar Ray Leonard and a special surprise guest who, after having an unfortunate career-altering incident in the TV booth, is starting his comeback on the podcast. Stay tuned. | 10/4/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast: Philip Rivers, Charles Barkley and Bill Simmons | After just one half of a regular season, this podcast is breaking more ground than Godzilla pillaging through the metropolis. Alright, that analogy might be a bit over the top but (Ndamukong) sue me: I’m excited about things. We have three A-list guests on the podcast today, starting with an MVP candidate and quarterback of the resurgent Chargers, Philip Rivers. San Diego just won its second game in a row with an eighth-string receiver catching two touchdowns from the red-hot Rivers, who talks at length about the attrition of his receiving corps. I also asked him point-blank if the front office’s handling of the Vincent Jackson contract dispute frustrated him. It was a trailblazing discussion from an NFL media standpoint as well. You see, we simulcast part of the conversation live on NFL Network’s “Around the League.” What do you call a simulcasted podcast?Kara Henderson and The Worm take their crack at that when the NFL Network reporter/host and NFL Network’s irascible senior producer join me in the Hot Topics segment. One week after declaring my podcast a Cowboys Free Zone for the rest of the 2010 season, Jerry Jones up and fires Wade Phillips, one of the few scenarios that I also said would cause me to lift the Cowboys blackout. Who knew that chicken would roost in my home so quickly? Wade got the gate, so the Cowboys DO return to the show – albeit BRIEFLY and for one last time (I swear) – before we hit on other pressing issues with Worm and Kara in a two-part Hot Topics segment. Yes, I’m trying something differently there too. Let me know if you like The Worm segment split into two around the rest of my guests who, on this show, were none other than Charles Barkley and Bill Simmons. The Round Mound of Rebound and The Sportsguy … two heavyweights and two conversations that went in every possible direction. If you’ve ever wondered whether Barkley played football or how long it takes Simmons to bang out one of his billion-word columns for ESPN, those questions will be answered. Ditto for who Barkley would pay to see play in the NFL and how Simmons went from mid-90’s internet newbie to a major sports voice of his generation. It’s all here. Moss-a-Palooza 2: Cardiovascular Endurance Edition | Talk about a motherlode of reasons to conduct a late-week podcast: the sudden waiving of Randy Moss by the Vikings and the mind-boggling late-game benching of Donovan McNabb by the Jack LaLannes of the NFL, Mike and Kyle Shanahan. Where in the world did these decisions come from? In terms of Moss, did Brad Childress really make the move without telling his bosses first? And if so, what does the move mean for the future of the head coach in Minnesota? As for McNabb, does the benching virtually ensure, just eight games into his once-heralded arrival in D.C., the end of his tenure as the Redskins’ quarterback? And should the Tennessee Titans request a list of pre-approved lunch menus from Moss? To brush away all the spin and speculation, I dialed up two of the best NFL insiders in the information game today: Jay Glazer of Fox Sports and NFL Network and Michael Lombardi, the NFL Network and NFL.com reporter who first broke the news that Childress had informed his team that Moss was no longer a part of it. The conversation that followed is a must-listen to say the least. It gets to the bottom of a whole heck of a lot. I can only hope you all have the cardiovascular endurance to last the entire podcast. | 11/4/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast: Will Ferrell, Hines Ward, and Randy Moss' favorite caterer | Well, another week for the podcast and another first. Actually, it’s the first for my entire career: an interview with a caterer. No, Will Ferrell is not playing a caterer in his new movie. He’s actually the title character in “Megamind,” which opens in a theater near you on Nov. 5th. The caterer to whom I refer is Minnesota native Gus Tinucci, who had the extreme displeasure of being on the business end of an angry Randy Moss. The second shocking cutting of ties between Moss and a would-be playoff contender in the last 26 days was strange enough. But on Tuesday, the story took a bizarre twist. Apparently, Moss was the author of an incredibly uncomfortable moment during lunch in the Vikings locker room last Friday when he, without provocation, went off on an expletive-laden review of the food being served. And, according to Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports, this incident played a role in Brad Childress waiving Moss. It’s an odd wrinkle to say the least. So, we called up Silver to explain where this story came from and if Childress would really put his neck on the line by sending Moss packing over a vulgar display of lunchroom decorum. We also shed a bit of psychoanalysis on the situation, because Mike and I both agree that Moss could be one of the most gracious and warm people you’ve ever met … when he wants to be. Then we chat with Gus of Tinucci’s Restaurant and Catering, the source of said lunch for the Vikings. Yes, The Rich Eisen Podcast is part of this man’s 15 minutes of fame. I’m telling you, this podcast is going places. It’s after all this that we finally get to our first scheduled guest: Hines Ward, one of the ultimate this-guy-can-play-on-my-team-type of guys of all time. We delve into the Steelers’ loss to the Saints and whether the current defense reminds Hines of the championship defenses of 2005 and 2008. I ask Ward about his hard-hitting colleague James Harrison and also touch upon any possible desire Hines may have to enter the media when it’s all said and done. One last unscheduled guest -- the Vince Lombardi Trophy -- with Rich Eisen, Bardia Shah-Rais, and The Worm, whose pate also requires the white-glove treament. (Ben Liebenberg/NFL) That’s when we call The Worm into the mix. The NFL Network senior producer and NFL fandom’s favorite kvetch takes his regular spot in the Hot Topics segment along with NFL Network senior producerBardia Shah-Rais, making his third appearance on the podcast. We hit the Moss imbroglio and the stunning benching of Donovan McNabb. I also issue a demand in regards to the Network’s coverage of the Dallas Cowboys in the immediate future that might ruffle a feather or two up the NFLN flowchart. Please listen for that and offer your thoughts on whether you agree with me. As for the cherry on top of this action-packed podcast, we turn to Ferrell. He provides the show with the expected healthy doses of humor, good cheer and, of course, cowbell. I delve in-depth into the making of the movie “Anchorman” and also the brilliant cowbell sketch he wrote and acted in for “Saturday Night Live.” We also reminisce about the first time we met at the 1998 ESPY Awards after a Harry Carayperformance that, at the time, appeared to be his very last on ESPN. Ever. In other words, with all this stuff going on in the NFL, you’ve got a fever and the only prescription is more podcast. | 11/2/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Reunited: Warner and Green team up for late-week podcast | It’s another late week edition of the podcast, but the very first I didn’t label as “special.” And that’s a direct result of so many of you tweaking me for doing something so regularly and calling it “special.” To be honest, when this podcast started in Week 1 of the season, I didn’t intend to do it twice a week. But when the trade of Randy Moss went down after my Tuesday’s podcast was put in “the can” as they say out here in Los Angeles, I had to tape another podcast because I couldn’t have a podcast week go by without discussing such a major story. And then each week, something major would happen, causing me to conduct late-week podcasts one after another until it started becoming, you know, regular. At any rate, this late-week podcasting will soon cease since I’m soon to go on the road for NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football, so I figured to keep doing it while I can. This week, I flipped on the mics for two old friends brought together at the crossroads of NFL history by Rodney Harrison back in the 1999 preseason: Trent Green and Kurt Warner. When Harrison blew up Green’s knee in the summer of ’99, it kick-started Warner’s Disney-like magic carpet ride career that should one day land in Canton. The two talk about that moment at length and reminisce about how that championship season came to be as a whole. It was a natural lead-in to how their old offensive coordinator is faring in Chicago right now. Their insights into the Mike Martz offense in Chicago and how it’s struggling under Jay Cutler is a must listen for Bears fans. I also ask the quarterback tandem if they think Brett Favre will play this week and which current quarterback they would choose if they needed to win one game right now. Warner and Green reunited on the podcast. And it feels so good. By the way, I think Green would be Peaches and Warner, Herb. | 10/28/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast, Episode 7: Pete Carroll and James Caan | Pete Carroll and The Podcast conduct the very first (and probably last) off-camera Team Cam interview in NFL Network history It’s been seven weeks since the birth of this podcast and I figured it was time to give the NFC West some love. Just because it was supposed to be the 49ers’ division for the taking and all they’ve done is essentially stuck a fork in themselves doesn’t mean we should neglect the perceived pariah of all NFL divisions. We may just have something cooking in the Pacific Northwest again and to that end we fired up Seahawks Cam for Pete Carroll. Literally. Normally, that’s the lexicon (and also the conduit of interviewing) for “NFL Total Access,” but we truly used our Team Cam technology to interview the head coach of the Seahawks. You see, 25 minutes before we were supposed to have Pete call in to our podcast studios, the NFL Network phone systems went down. Kaput. Kablooey. So, Pete was kind enough to head to the nearest plug-in for Seahawks Cam (which was in a hallway downstairs from his office) and give us a nice chunk of his time away from preparing for the Raiders this week. We talked about his coaching philosophy, what he’s changed in his approach since his last foray in the NFL, his ever-changing roster and, yes, USC and his departure from there. After Pete, we dialed up a true Los Angeles legend in every sense of the word: James Caan, the man who brought Brian Piccolo to life on the silver screen in Brian’s Song and died one of the more famous deaths in cinematic history in “The Godfather.” We talk about both at length, including Caan’s favorite scene from the movie, one that no one has apparently ever seen. A big-time football fan from his childhood days in Queens, Caan also reminisces about his time hanging with the old Oakland Raiders and spins yarns that only a man who trawled 1970s Hollywood in the glow of portraying Santino Corleone could. On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have The Worm. NFL Network senior producer Jason Wormser returns to his usual spot in the podcast, railing about poor clock management and sweating out the travails of his now 5-2 New York Giants. Joining Worm in the Hot Topics segment is NFL Network reporter and host Kara Henderson, fresh back from her double-dip Week 7 assignments: Redskins-Bears on Sunday and Giants-Cowboys on Monday night. Kara gives us an inside glimpse into the Cowboys locker room after suffering what all observers believe is a season-sealing, clavicle-breaking loss to the Giants. After the game, Kara ran the gamut, interviewing Jerry Jones and running into the namesake of our dear, beloved sponsor. And for all you Brits out there, The Worm sets the table for the annual game in Wembley this weekend with a surprise report from across the pond. It’s a performance of which even Caan would be envious. Well, maybe not. Don’t miss any of this podcast. It’s an offer you truly can’t refuse. | 10/26/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

A very VERY special Rich Eisen Podcast: Hard hits with Kurt Warner, Rod Woodson and Rich McKay | This helmet-to-helmet stuff has caught fire. It is THE topic of the National Football League at the moment, so much so that it’s even put Brett Favre’s meeting with NFL security AND the Cowboys 1-and-4 start all on to the national media’s back burner and THAT is saying a lot. So, I figured I’d fire up the podcast mics later in the week (again!) for a very VERY special edition of the Rich Eisen podcast. My guests to discuss this thorny issue of issuing toothier fines for hits the league deems flagrant is the co-chair of the Competition Committee Rich McKay, Hall of Fame defender Rod Woodson and future Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner. As we all know, just two years ago, Kurt once thought of retiring on the spot after his receiver, Anquan Boldin, had his face broken by such a hit. Kurt will discuss that moment and why he felt that way in the podcast, while Rod gives his unique perspective on the new emphasis on punishing those who punish on the field with a bit too much face mask. The podcast is a must-listen (if I dare say so myself) and will be up later today on my blog, richeisen.nfl.com and on iTunes. | 10/21/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast, Ep. 6: Jon Gruden, Dennis Miller and Ray Anderson | The latest episode of my podcast has arrived and it’s sort of an extended remix version of previous podcasts. First of all, the remix. Dennis Miller returns for another engagement and it could not be more well-timed. You see, Dennis’ predecessor in the Monday Night Football booth twice removed is also on the podcast, none other than Jon Gruden, fresh off his assignment in Jacksonville for ESPN. The one-and-only Grudes opines on his love of the game and his new unique office situation in Tampa. The man still rarely sleeps, watches a ton of game film and appears to relish in the X’s and O’s of it all as much as he did when he was coaching. It begged the question as to whether Gruden would be receptive to an overture for another head coaching gig in the NFL. His answer was intriguing to say the very least. After Gruden, we enjoyed another wide-ranging, gamut-running riff with Miller that featured his take on Jay Cutler and his beloved Steelers … before spinning off the rails. To wit: listen for mentions of George Burns, Starlight Express, Ron Jeremy, Tom Coughlin’s unique photo inscription and some incredible memories of his time on the Saturday Night Live set with Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman and, yes, Robert Downey Jr. As for the extended portion of the show: We have three guests on today, one more than the usual. And that’s because our first guest was quite the newsmaker this week: Ray Anderson, the NFL’s executive vice-president of football operations, who had seen enough helmet paint swapping in the Week Six action to put more teeth into the league’s penalties for such violations. Anderson walks us through the genesis of the decision and the decision-making process itself before the league took action by handing out $175,000 of fines to three players in one day. We also ask Anderson point blank what he would say to fans who think the NFL is legislating out too much of the physicality that makes the game so unique. As always, we don’t just criticize and analyze but make a suggestion. Since so many of these helmet-to-helmet plays happen in the blink of an eye and the on-field penalty of 15-yards is so severe, I suggest to Anderson that the league should make these penalties reviewable under instant replay. Three weeks ago, on NFL Total Access, I asked the same thing to Jeff Fisher, co-chairman of the competition committee, and Fisher said he and the committee were not inclined to make these penalties reviewable. Undaunted, I pressed my case further with Anderson. Please listen for his answer. Jason Wormser AKA "The Worm" Of course, there’s another podcast appearance by NFL Network senior producer Jason Wormser, a.k.a. The Worm. He’s joined in our Hot Topics segment by NFL GameDay Morning producer Charlie Yook, a big-time Bears fan who also happened to work closely with Gruden when the coach spent time with NFL Network before taking the Monday Night gig. Yook tells a great story about how Gruden still, if you will, reaches out to him. It’s all quite festive, especially since The Worm finally gets his free pizza from our esteemed sponsor Papa John’s. Because of the extended remix, the podcast is a touch longer and a bit larger in size to download but, in the end, I hope you’ll agree that it was worth it. Enjoy and feedback, as always, is welcome. | 10/19/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

A Very Special Rich Eisen Podcast: What is Up with the Cowboys? | Here it is, folks. As promised. Another busy week in the NFL and thus another late-week podcast special. Now, I hear you. How can I keep calling a second podcast of the week “special” if I make a second podcast in the week a regular thing? Or, as my good friend and former Bristol colleague and Bill Simmonscompatriot Gus Ramsey put it on Twitter Thursday: You have more “special” episodes than “Moesha.” First of all, I’ve never been compared to Brandy. Secondly, this week’s second podcast isn’t a “special edition.” As you can see from the headline, it’s a “very special edition” of the podcast. You see, for the first time in 9 years, the Dallas Cowboys are 1-3. Forget the Metroplex, a 1-3 start from Dallas is a calling-all-cars situation on the national media landscape, especially when it happens in the very year that the Cowboys play host to a Super Bowl for the very first time. So, I turned on the podcast mics and asked of three of my NFL Network compadres this very simple, burning question: What is up with the Dallas Cowboys? And those three colleagues of mine? None other than Jamie Dukes, Hall of Famer Rod Woodson and 3-time champion Dallas Cowboy Daryl “Moose” Johnston. Now, that’s what I call a very special edition of the podcast. | 10/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast, Ep. 5: Ice Cube and Jared Allen | Ice Cube joined me in the NFL Network Studio on Tuesday. (Ben Liebenberg/NFL) We’re only five weeks in to this podcast project now and, in terms of putting together a diverse guest list, I may have set the bar as high as it can ever go. First up, we have Minnesota pass rusher extraordinaire Jared Allen, straight from the “Monday Night Football” gridiron. And when I say straight from there, I’m almost being literal. With the Vikings-Jets game delayed 45 minutes by lightning, the final contest of Week 5 didn’t finish up until deep into the first Tuesday of Week 6. So, Allen didn’t walk back in his front door until 5:30 a.m. Minnesota time. Mere hours later, he was on the phone with your humble podcaster talking about the disappointing loss and, begrudgingly at times (as it seemed to me), talking about Brett Favre and his mental status as the Vikings enter the second-quarter of the 2010 schedule at 1-3. This weekend, Allen and his mates host the equally desperate 1-3 Cowboys. We talk about that matchup a bit before moving on to Allen’s new role as author. Yes, the Rhinestone Cowboy has written a book about his love of hunting and then eating what he hunts. It’s called “The Quarterback Killer’s Cookbook” and we have fun talking about his palate, which is far different from mine. We also wound up talking movies and you will never guess which movie Allen admits to making him cry. Once we send Jared back to his duck blind for the day, that’s when The Worm takes his usual spot, talking about the hot topics around the league after five weeks. NFL Network senior producer Bardia Shah-Rais joins The Worm, and it’s the perfect pairing for the segment this week, what with his beloved 49ers at 0-5 and flat-out on the brink of a quarterback change, 2010 extinction and perhaps a coaching change the organization does not want to make. Plus, Bardia does a killer Charley Casserly impersonation. In fact, it’s the only Casserly impersonation I know of. And with Charley in the news because of his Randy Moss/Tom Brady facial hair/Bieber hair argument story, we get the take on these topics and more from Bardia and The Worm. Then, one final time, we completely change gears and welcome Ice Cube into the studio. The rap impresario and Godfather of the Friday trilogy came in proudly displayed his Raiders colors, fresh off his team’s shocking come from behind win over the Chargers to end a 13-game hex against their hated downstate division rivals. So, we let him crow a little bit about his 2-3 Raiders before we hit him up about the movie Friday and how it came to be a cult classic that’s just as fresh now as when it first hit the theaters 15, yes, 15 years ago. It’s all good in the ‘hood. Enjoy the podcast and, as always, send in your feedback. | 10/12/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast: Moss-a-palooza Special | It seems each week we’re breaking new ground on the podcast. One week we have a sponsor. Next week, we hit the top spot on iTunes for the most popular sports podcast in all of Appledom. Now, we’ve got our first two-a-week. You see, we tape the podcast each week on a Tuesday, figuring it’s the day after the Monday Night game, the day when all the dust settles on an NFL week. Plus, it’s the one universal off-day for players in the NFL. It’s easiest to get a player like Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers or this week’s guest, LaDainian Tomlinson, to find 20 spare minutes and pick up the phone to chat. But it’s also early in the NFL week that’s playing out; big-time NFL news can always break on a Wednesday. That’s the risk we run by taping the podcast on a Tuesday. Well, this week, a doozy of a trade went down in the NFL – the Patriots suddenly cutting ties with Randy Moss, right in the midst of the season and sending him to, of all teams, the Minnesota Vikings and to, of all quarterbacks, Brett Favre on, of all weeks, the week in which they visit the New York Jets in the New Meadowlands where we could see the return, of all players, the man who once called Moss a “slouch” — Darrelle Revis. Yes, I know that was a run on sentence, but it’s a run-on sentence-type of transaction and set of circumstances, yes? So, we got the whole podcast gang together and fired up the mics to discuss the Moss trade. The best of what Bill Belichick, Moss and Favre had to say on Thursday can be found on this podcast. NFL Network information man Jason La Canfora gives us the why and what of the shocking deal and answers the question on the lips of every New Englander concerned over the lack of a deep threat – could the Patriots now make a play for Vincent Jackson? And we analyze the impact this deal will have on both the offenses in Minnesota and New England with former veteran quarterback Trent Green and Hall of Fame cornerback Rod Woodson. It’s not as long as my usual shows, so we will call it … mini-podcast. But it still packs a wallop. See you next Tuesday with another regular version of the show, perhaps the first of two again. One never knows what might happen … | 10/7/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast, Episode 4: LaDainian Tomlinson and Dennis Miller | Alright, people. Podcast No. 4 is up and, if I may be so bold, it’s timely. Fresh off his 133-yard, two touchdown punking of the Bills and everyone else who thought he had a fork stuck in him, LaDainian Tomlinson joins the program. He was his usual humble self, but you know he’s feeling real good about himself right now. I ask him about how he views his departure from the Chargers now that he’s 7 months and four regular season games removed from it. He also lets us in on his free-agent meeting with the Vikings — this week’s opponent, by the way — as well as who he thinks is the most dynamic young runner in the league. His answer may surprise you, and I’m not just saying that as a tease to get you to listen. OK. Maybe I am just a little bit. Jason Wormser A.K.A. The Worm, Rich Eisen, and "The League" executive producer Jeff Schaffer. After LT, The Worm makes his weekly appearance on the podcast, feeling a lot better about his G-Men after their beat down of Jay Cutler and the Bears. Normally, I have a fellow NFL Network producer/cast member join Jason Wormser, a.k.a. The Worm, in our Hot Topics segment, but this week I make an exception. Joining The Worm is the executive producer of the fantasy-football based FX program, “The League.” His name is Jeff Schaffer and he also just happens to be an executive producer, writer and director of “Curb Your Enthusiasm“ and, if that’s not enough, an executive producer and writer of “Seinfeld.” So, we mine those fields of hilarity for a second straight week on the podcast, especially since Jeff and his writing partner were the ones who brought you “The Calzone” episode of “Seinfeld” from back in the day. He also wanted to take to the mic to rebut something Larry David said on the podcast last week. The Worm got along well with Jeff because, like The Worm, Jeff roots for two teams in the NFL, but may just be the only one who roots for these two teams, too. Listen up for that. The podcast wraps up with Dennis Miller, one of the most hardcore football fans I’ve ever met. In his nine years hosting “Dennis Miller Live“ on HBO and three years hosting his own radio show, he usually does the interviewing. But, here, he appears in the rare role of interviewee. Since his mind is a pop culture Rolodex, we hit the spectrum of topics with the one time “Monday Night Football“ analyst including the Steelers, “Goodfellas,” Aaron Rodgers, Betty Grable, Braylon Edwards’ former beard, Peter O’Toole, Christo and the best Al Michaels story I’ve ever heard. So, download and listen at your leisure. All feedback is greatly appreciated. | 10/5/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast Ep 3: Drew Brees and Larry David | Big day for the podcast. Big. With just two previous shows in the books, we’re technically crawling. But today, we’re trying for a full on sprint. First of all, we’re now sponsored. I know that might not be exciting for you, but for our guests it will be. Anyone appearing on the Rich Eisen Podcast from now on gets some free Papa John’s pizza because we’re now sponsored by, you guessed it, Papa John’s. Man, your inference skills are sharp. At any rate, we’ve now got some Corporate America wind at our podcast sails. Should raise all boats. But, as I said, we’re up and running this week with some big time guests. First up, Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees, who joined us coming off a loss Sunday AND a GQ photo shoot today. As we all know, good things come in threes. So for Brees, it’s the GQ photo shoot, an appearance on my podcast and thus free Papa John’s pizza. All good. After Drew comes our Hot Topics segment with The Worm. From what I can tell by your comments on iTunes and on Twitter (where I can be followed on my blog page and @richeisen on Twitter itself) you’ve all been enthralled with The Worm, formerly known as NFL Network senior producer Jason Wormser. He’s extra bitter today because his Giants got dominated at home by the Titans and looked especially awful doing it. His mood on Podcast Tape Day was nothing compared to Sunday, when he let loose some invective in front of one very impressionable guest of mine who watched games with us on the NFL Network set that day. It’s a very funny story you won’t want to miss. He also has more good stats and thoughts to pass along. He’s joined by NFL Network senior bureau producer Drew Ohlmeyer, a big-time Jets fan who has lots of reasons to crow. The Worm, you see, also likes the Dolphins – something Drew gets all over him about. But, the piece d’resistance, the cherry on top of the podcast, if you will, is Larry David. The creator of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” the funniest show on TV, is on the podcast, talking about his beloved Jets and how he watches games. He also chimes in on “Seinfeld,” another of his creations and perhaps the funniest show of ALL TIME. And, yes, he gets free pizza too. It’s all not to be missed. Download, stream, enjoy. | 9/28/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast Ep 2: Michael Strahan and Aaron Rodgers | Another good time on the podcast front this week: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers joins me along with former New York Giant sackmaster and current FOX analyst Michael Strahan. Rodgers got quite introspective about his place in the game and the virtually untold story of how he got started on the road to football greatness. As for Strahan, we caught him in his usual gregarious mood, out and about, looking for a caffeine fix. Episode Two also features a return of The Worm, who, again, is safe for children. NFL Network Senior Producer Jason Wormser, a.k.a. The Worm, along with NFL Network Coordinating Producer Mike Muriano talk about several hot topics in the league from which current AFC division leader has the best chance to stay in that spot by season’s end to what ails the Cowboys. The Worm brought his A-game today, toting a unique stat that he’s following that could prove useful while you watch games. Here it is, folks. Podcast, Week Two style. Enjoy. | 9/21/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

The Rich Eisen Podcast Ep 1: Ray Lewis and Dan Patrick | It has arrived! The inaugural show of The Rich Eisen podcast has arrived. We had a great show as Ray Lewis called in as the first guest. Take a listen as the Ravens great talks about their victory over the Jets, his history with Rex Ryan and how he prepares for each game. It was also great to catch up with Dan Patrick on the first show. Besides talking football, listen in as Dan reveals something about his career that will surprise you. We also look back at Week 1 with some of the producers from NFL Network. Plus, you’ll also meet The Worm. Once you do, it’ll be self-explanatory. And don’t worry, he’s safe for kids. Rich Eisen Rocks!
Rich Eisen is easily the best football personallity on any network. I love the fact that he now has a podcast, and his first show was great! Can't wait for more.
Great listen
Btw it plays just fine on a 3GS....eisen is a very entertaining host and this podcast is a definite must listen for any football fan.
More football talk
Look I get it, there is a lockout going on but isn't this still an NFL podcast? Less celebrities pitching their shows and more football even if it's repetitive. I'll watch Letterman or Leno if I want this kind of non-football entertainment. I've got to the point where I quit listening to the entire podcast and skim through looking for actual football talk. It's like searching for a needle in a haystack. More football talk and you'll get 5 stars since that is why I download.
