51: Lauren Cohan (Maggie) Interview | Two special guests today, as longtime listener, first time co-host Gracie Lou joins me to interview the talented Lauren Cohan, a.k.a. Maggie Greene. Lauren talks about why Maggie has been so hot and cold with Glenn, what she likes most about doing The Walking Dead, what it takes for a zombie to scare her, and a lot more. And best of all she gave us a particularly unique, rather animalistic zombie sound. Rather pterodactyl-like, I’d say…. :) Note: We talked with Lauren about upcoming story lines in the comic a bit, and so there are one or two potential spoilers. They’re just small ones, but if you’re completely spoiler-averse, you may want to skip this one (but then again as we’ve seen thus far, just because something happens in the comic doesn’t mean it will happen on the show). And by the way, if you like what we’re doing, we especially appreciate getting reviews (or even just ratings) and subscriptions in iTunes. It’s easy, and even better, free. Here’s how: 1. Find our iTunes page here and then click “View in iTunes” (or just search for us in iTunes). 2. In iTunes, click “Subscribe Free.” 3. Scroll down and click “Write a Review,” and then leave us an honest rating or review. We love hearing from you guys, so if you’d like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD, or you can email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com. | 12/8/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

50: Greg Nicotero Interview | Karen and I had an absolute blast talking to Walking Dead zombie guru extraordinaire, Greg Nicotero! Greg tells what it was like working on classic Romero zombie films, how the Walking Dead "well zombie" was made, who has the best zombie walk out of Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Simon Pegg, and Edgar Wright, and much more. Greg mentioned that the southwestern Pennsylvania cemetery chapel featured in several scenes of George Romero's Night of the Living Dead is in danger of being demolished, but there is an effort to save it. Check out fixthechapel.com to learn how you can help. In the meantime, if you'd like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD, or you can email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com. | 12/1/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Explicit49: “Pretty Much Dead Already” (S2E7) | Is Shane pretty much dead already because he's a cold shell of a man? Or is Dale PMDA because he's too weak to exist in this world? How many farmers does it take to wrangle a zombie? Why is Glenn so charming? Join us this episode as we discuss these and other all-important questions, respond to your feedback, talk about what's coming up on the show, and more. Note: Over the mid-season hiatus, we'll be publishing episodes on a more-or-less bi-weekly schedule, starting Saturday, December 17. And by the way, we do this not for any monetary gain, but as a labor of love. If you like what we’re doing, we especially appreciate getting reviews (or even just ratings) and subscriptions in iTunes. It’s easy, and even better, free: 1. Find our iTunes page at http://bit.ly/thedeadcast and then click “View in iTunes" (or just search for us in iTunes). 2. In iTunes, click “Subscribe Free.” 3. Customer Reviews
A Zombie podcast I would die for.
A great companion to "The Walking Dead" tv show. Full of great content including reviews, news, and interviews with cast. The hosts are amazing and offer recommendations for other podcasts, movies, and just about anything zombie!
Fantastic Podcast.
I absolutely love the walking deadcast. Jason and Karen do a fantastic job. They have a great chemistry, and I never lose interest in listening to them. Especially with Karen's awesome laugh. I look forward to each podcast. I've checked some of the other podcast (which are good), but the walking deadcast is by far my favorite. Keep up the excellent work walkingdeadcast and I'll keep listening. Don't get bit...ten.
Keep up the Great work!!
This podcast really is a ton of fun. I discovered it quite by accident, as I was looking up the Dylan song that the final season one episode closed with. In the search string, it pulled up the title of episode 20 of the podcast. So, I began listening from the beginning and got HOOKED!!
Jason and Karen are great together, and their personalities really play well off each other. I got a little spoiled at the beginning since I had 20 episodes to catch up on I was able to just listen to them one after another. Now I have to wait days in between my Dead 'Cast fixes. Oh well. Could be worse. I could be zombie food. :)
One thing that really impressed me and illustrated how serious Jason and Karen are about their podcast is the fact that they had some really great interviews with cast and creators. And I don't mean they interviewed the temp who one time was there to empty out the trash from Andrew Lincoln's trailer. No, they actually had Andrew Lincoln, Laurie Holden, Jeff DeMunn, Steven Yeun, Robert Kirkman and others. These folks are the real deal. They are really serious about it, but they are really serious about having fun and putting on a great podcast for people to listen to, and it shows.
I highly recommend this podcast for anyone who wants a great companion commentary to the TV show.
