CleanEpisode 23: What Happened at Madrona | Very straighforward. I am sharing with you the audio from an early draft of what was supposed to be my post Madrona podcast. Sadly, I haven't been able to talk for any sustained periods since recording it. It's funny listening to the audio, I can definitely hear myself struggle more towards the end of the recording. CleanEpisode 22: Road to Madrona | I'm back. And on my way to Madrona. This is a very freeform episode beginning with what's been going on with me, continuing into crafty talk and finishing with a quick run down about what's awesome about Madrona and what I'm packing and preparing for the trip. Skip kid talk by fast forwarding from 3:00 to 7:15 Aguona Laptop Bag: ravelry.com/patterns/library/aguona-laptop-bag If you're coming to Madrona, come to the podcaster meet and greet on Friday at 5 in the Rotunda. I plan to be there --and hopefully not too exhausted from my insane number of classes. CleanSpinning Loft Special | A special edition of the podcast! I went to spend some time at The Spinning Loft in Howell, MI at the end of December. This is not exactly a Yarn Crawl episode, more of an unfettered conversation with the funny and knowledgeable Beth Smith. Rule of thumb guide for what you can make with fiber by weight: 2-3 oz wrist warmers or fingerless mitts (or edging on a larger project) 4 oz mittens or a hat 6-8 oz scarf 1 lb vest 1.5-2 lb sweater Add an ounce for sampling Here are some of the workshops coming up at the Spinning Loft. I know I was plotting some way to make it over there for some of these: January 2011 Abby Franquemont / Backstrap Weaving March 2011 Stephanie Pearl McPhee / Knitting for speed and efficiency April 2011 Anne Field of Spinning Wool: Beyond the Basics May 2011 Lisa Klakulak of Strong Felt / Wet felting June 2011 Miriam Felton of Twist & Knit July 2011 Jacey Boggs / Boucles August 2011 Deb Menz / Dyeing intensive September 2011 Amy King October 2011 Sarah Lamb / Weaving with painted warps for clothing November 2011 Shannon Okey / Recycled sweaters | 2/1/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
