CleanGod Is... 6 | Genesis 2v7; 2 Cor. 4v6-12. Is it that we struggle with our identity because we struggle with the identity of God? As the nature, the character, the identity of God is exposed… our nature, our character, our identity is exposed... we are exposed. We are fragile because we have been formed from the dust of the ground, yet we have been breathed into by the creator. This paradox lies at the heart of our identity. | 6/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
9 |
CleanGod Is.. 5 | Colossians 4v2-6. God is NOT cliché. Its sad when I recognize this reality in my life and how often I hear of stories of stale, rote, ritualistic, cliché realities of following Jesus and obeying His words... Yet in the scriptures we see nothing of this cliché-ness that has made a home today in many of our communities. | 6/2/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanGod Is... 2 | As we begin to KNOW this God… really KNOW this God… As we move from distance to proximity we begin to see that some of the presuppositions we have always held begin to shift. Those who know Jesus, see mission not merely as a practice preferred by God but as an aspect of His very character. HE IS MISSION. | 5/12/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Bestowed with worth, value and purpose, Jesus reveals the mission of the kingdom, and invites us to participate in this revolutionary and radical movement. | 4/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanReveal(ed) 5 | Matthew 5v8. Attention is scarce... So what gets our attention grows. Prov. 4v23 says above all else guard your hearts, that’s where life begins. In the Kingdom of God the “pure in heart” will be close to see and distinguish with clarity who God is... The “pure in heart” will KNOW God. | 3/31/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
18 |
CleanReveal(ed) 4 | Matthew 5v7. Our blessings are not just for us... We have been blessed that we may bless others. The first four beatitudes carry an internal and inward posture of the heart thus becoming IDENTITY shaping words and concepts and realities. The rhythms of the kingdom alter who we are thus alter what we do. The last 4 beatitudes are external dispositions of life. | 3/24/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
19 |
CleanReveal(ed) 3 | Matthew 5v5-6. The “poor in spirit possess a posture of humility. Those who “mourn” have a posture of submission. Those who are meek possess a posture of trust or obedience. Once the bedrock has been set in humility, submission and obedience we will hunger and thirst after righteousness, this is a posture of pursuit. There is no lasting satisfaction in pleasure, performance and possessions. We must know the depth of our need and hunger. | 3/17/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
20 |
CleanReveal(ed) 2 | Matthew 5v4-5 The kingdom represents a NEW WAY to be human — a new way to live. The beatitudes represent what it looks like to live in the kingdom of God. RADICAL and REVOLUTIONARY demands that will offend the religion out of us. Those who mourn (a godly sorrow for rebellion and misplaced hope) and the meek (a tamed wild animal/gentleness) will begin to understand the kingdom more clearly. | 3/10/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

21 |
CleanReveal(ed) 1 | Matthew 5v1-3. As God entered human history in a personal way and makes it unmistakably clear that He LOVES us through Jesus, everything needed to be re-centered, re-imagined and re-thought as Jesus revealed who He was and continues to reveal who He is to us. We will journey over the course of the next 5 weeks through Matthew 5v1-16. | 3/3/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

27 |
CleanElements 1 | 2.3.11 Ephesians 4v1 At the center, core and heart of a disciple lies the conversation of faithfulness. Faith is being sure and certain in knowing that God is who He says He is and that He does what He says he can do. Faithfulness is living here and now, in and through the depth of His love. | 2/3/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

29 |
CleanRoots 1 | Luke 6v43-49. Only slowly do people begin to grasp all that is promised in Jesus. Hope produces the ability to trust... the fruit reveals the nature of the roots... the external is a product of something deeper... the edges of life are a product of the essence of our hearts. Life without depth is superficial. | 1/6/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanThe Epiphany 2 | Deep calls to deep... You kind of get the feeling that there are times when our hearts know something that our minds cannot quite comprehend. Perhaps a good litmus test to adventure in our lives would be whether or not we have more questions than we do answers. | 12/9/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
31 |
CleanThe Epiphany 1 | Ron martoia says, “in the absence of a compelling story we will always find a substitute to make sense of our lives.” my question is how can this story be anything but compelling? This is our story to tell. I feel that many of us need to be reminded that God has not abandoned the world and HOPE is real and HOPE is coming. | 12/2/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanPause 1 | American thrives on a simple message... “That what we have is currently not enough, not big enough, not nice enough, not fast or hip enough.” we live in a world that thrives on being busy. Jesus will never make sense in a world full of distraction. We must learn to eliminate distractions. We must learn the art of the PAUSE. | 11/4/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
34 |
CleanMetaphor: The Priesthood 3 | What or who is the object of your hope? What you hope in you will trust in... And what we trust in we will ultimately rely on. Paul’s warning goes out to those who have put their hope in the uncertain things of this world... The temporary things that have and will continue to leave us empty. Everything is a gift... May we never confuse the gifts for the giver. | 10/21/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
35 |
CleanMetaphor: The Priesthood 2 | We are called “a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and a people belonging to God.” The question that lingers in my mind and heart is... do we need anything else? So why is it that we long and crave and yearn for culture to see us as significant and label us? We need NOTHING else! | 10/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
36 |
CleanMetaphor: The Priesthood 1 | "but, you..." in verses 4-8 Jesus is called the living cornerstone and we/you the "CHURCH" are called the living stones. There is no such thing as passive Christianity... | 10/7/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanThe Portrait 5 | Through His compelling LOVE, Jesus restores humanity and recreates our purpose given to us in eden. On the cross God assigned our sin to Christ and Christ’s perfect righteousness to us. (The Restoration) | 9/30/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
38 |
CleanThe Portrait 4 | We disobey and an identity crisis is born giving rise to selfishness and an endless cycle of sin. Every relationship (with God, with others, and with ourselves) is broken because of the fall. We must force ourselves to see everyone (including ourselves) for who they are: broken, selfish people desperately in need of God. | 9/23/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanThe Portrait 2 | Like all stories and narratives, the starting point… the opening scene of the story is critical for understanding the rest of the plot and story line. God’s design and blueprint was to place at our CORE a piece of himself. Eden screams that we were made for MORE! | 9/9/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

41 |
CleanThe Portrait 1 | We start a new conversation on the full narrative of the epic story of the Bible. In the next 4 weeks we will explore creation, the fall, redemption and restoration. | 9/2/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
42 |
CleanFlawed 4 | We culminate our conversation in Romans 8. Our refrain has been... “you don’t have to live like this anymore.” Why? Because of Christ and by His grace... “We don’t have to live like this anymore.” what does all this mean? I suspect it has something to do with giving this same life away. | 8/26/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
43 |
CleanFlawed 3 | The word repentance has been apart of the christian community and language for 1,000’s of years. What does this word really mean and what does it have to do with knowing Jesus? This is a paradigm shift in my life... A reorientation to reengage in in god’s original purpose. | 8/19/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
44 |
CleanFlawed 2 | FREEDOM has been part of humanity from creation... Jesus endures the poverty of the human existence to restore FREEDOM back to his creation. FREEDOM is intricately intertwined with with the Gospel and obedience. | 8/12/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
45 |
CleanFlawed 1 | It has taken me quite some time... Its been an extended journey... Much of which has felt like a desert a lot of the time, but I have reached the place and the point that I have come to LOVE this beautifully and tragically FLAWED thing called the Church. Maybe better stated... I have come to LOVE the beautifully and tragically FLAWED people known as the Church. I have experienced the GOSPEL at work. I have experienced the TRANSFORMATION of the broken and blemished... The frail and FLAWED... Starting with me. | 8/5/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanParables 3 | Jesus teaches that discipleship is ultimately about IDENTITY. Disciples are learn because its just WHO they are... We cannot “learn Jesus” without being prepared to walk His path. | 7/22/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanParables 2 | ONLY those who press close enough to Jesus will understand... The disciples want to do well at what Jesus does best... PRAY! Prayer deals with what is basic to humanity. CleanMetaphor: The Shepherd 4 | Our journey and exploration of the “Good shepherd” culminates yet there is still is much to be learned. When we see Jesus as God intended us to see Him, our only response is WORSHIP! | 5/27/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
55 |
CleanMetaphor: The Shepherd 3 | As we continue exploring the the depth of Jesus’ statement that He is the “Good shepherd” we must visit one of the most well known, maybe over-used and misused passages in all of scripture. Psalm 23v1-6... He is enough. | 5/20/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
56 |
CleanMetaphor: The Shepherd 2 | We started our journey to understanding to why Jesus claims that He is the “Good shepherd,” a metaphor that spans the entire biblical narrative. We see through the life of a no name blind man that indeed Jesus has come to make the blind see and those that think they see are indeed blind (john 9v35-41). | 5/13/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
57 |
CleanMetaphor: The Shepherd 1 | The biblical narrative is filled with metaphors that bring the multidimensional living truth that is the Gospel to life. The shepherd is one of those metaphors. Jesus makes a outrageously ridiculous claim that He is the “good shepherd”. We will explore the meta-narrative and nuance to this statement and why this deep truth deeply offended His first century audience. | 5/6/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanDeath to Performance | The original intent and plan from the beginning has always been FREEDOM. So why is it that humanity continues to leave the permanent for the temporal... The everlasting for the fleeting? Jesus INVITES us to experience the true OASIS that is found in Him and Him alone. Freedom is an expression of and an experience in the OASIS that is the Gospel. | 4/8/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanAxiom 3 | Q: what is our hearts committed to? The way we answer will ultimately give us a picture of our “inner man”... Are we pursuing the fullness found in Jesus? Proverbs 4:23 | 2/25/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
65 |
CleanAxiom 1 | Wisdom is the lived experience of knowledge. Eugene Peterson says that wisdom is the art of living skillfully in whatever actual conditions we find ourselves. Wisdom is a lived response to who God is and who we are becoming through Him. Proverbs 1:1-7 | 2/11/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
66 |
CleanIncarnational | Jesus became an insider. He experienced its life, its rhythms, and its people from the inside and not as an outsider. The divine design of the incarnation is to meet us where we are… to invite us to participate in the “Jesus-way” of living life. The incarnation invites us to live the gospel in our worlds so the “outsiders” can see it clearly. | 1/28/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

68 |
CleanMissional | Imago dei is a phrase used to describe humanity in the creation account in the book of genesis. The divine creator shapes man in his imago dei… in his image and likeness. Mission dei describes the mission of God or better translated the God of mission. When we begin to understand our identity and architecture we find that God has placed a piece of himself at our core. Transformation is the mission of God and we have been shaped to transform. Our very architecture cries out for transformation. Q: Are we up to what God’s up to? | 1/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
69 |
CleanWorship Fully | I wonder if I struggle with worship so much because the blessing has stopped with me. How will we fully worship if we struggle with ungratefulness and when the blessing stops with us? Hearts that have been touched by revolutionary love return in gratitude, receive the blessing and give life away. Perhaps, that is a great picture of someone who worships fully. | 12/17/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
70 |
CleanGive More Presence | the biblical picture of blessing has always been to use our blessings to bless others. Something destructive happens when the blessing stops with us. We become indifferent and bored. We must give our blessings away by giving our lives away. The Christmas story must continue to be redeemed from giving stuff to giving life, from giving presents to giving more presence. | 12/10/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
71 |
CleanRevolutionary Love | the divine interruption is everywhere… do you see it, can you hear it, feel it, touch it? It’s in movies, in songs, art, conversation, stories… Why, because that’s the nature of God. When God interrupts our lives, things are meant to change. The story of Christ’s birth is a story of divine interruption. It’s a story of promise, hope and revolutionary love. I wonder if I struggle with grace so much because my heart is so ungrateful at times? | 12/3/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

72 |
CleanAn Unusual Response | Just as we humbly began our spiritual journey we must continually return to embrace the finished work of the cross. However there is something about our human nature that wants to help Jesus in the salvation process. | 11/19/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

73 |
CleanAn Unusual Story | Steve St. Pierre shares his seemingly unusual and provocative story as he was forced to respond to the gospel. | 11/12/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
74 |
CleanThe Unusual Way | The gospel is extraordinarily unusual. The life that Jesus has called us to follow (THE WAY) is DIFFERENT. Jesus has not called us to an idea but to an existence... A way of life. What does this look like? I think that it looks like a life of RESPONSE. How will we respond to the Gospel/Jesus? Luke 7v18-35 How does John the Baptist respond to the unusual life? Doubt forces reflection. This produces tension which carries the seed of REAL GROWTH. The way of Jesus is unusual... How will you respond? | 11/5/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
75 |
CleanAloneness (The Art of Soul-Making Solitude) | Potentially now more than any other time in history we live in a world where we can be “online” and connected all the time. As significant as inter-connectedness is to the human spirit there is a depth of soul making that is possible and finds its roots only in solitude. There is an emotional and spiritual centering and refreshing, restoring we crave that reveals itself in aloneness and solitude. | 10/29/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
76 |
CleanBelonging (The Art of Community) | The search for belonging is what it means for humans to be created in the IMAGE of GOD. We are relational beings and so the search to belong continues. Our current Quantum world that finds a deep relational connectedness and vast “inner space” as big as “outer space” is drastically different from the Newtonian modern world of yesterday. Everything seems to be CONNECTED and so the cry and desire of the depths of our hearts reveal a nature that shares the desire for intimacy and deep connectedness. | 10/22/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

78 |
CleanPause (The Art of Contemplation) | Perhaps we in the north American church have “put the cart before the horse” when it comes to prayer. We’ve asked how do we pray before fully understanding the WHO and the WHAT. Who is it that prays? What is prayer and what is the point/purpose of prayer? We must learn how to become LEARNERS and LISTENERS if were going to become disciples that KNOW Jesus. The conversation on identity continues as WHO we are becoming is more important than what we are doing and where we are headed. Prayer is a conduit to intimacy and heightens awareness to the culture and needs in our communities. Luke 11v1, John 4v23, 24, and Luke 14v25-34 | 10/8/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
79 |
CleanSelf-Awareness (The Art of Becoming) | At one point in history suitcases marked our travels and reminded us where we’ve been and perhaps what we have seen. Like stamps, they collected the experiences and moments. The reality is that some of the things that we have collected in our suitcases and in our hearts have piled up over the years from poor decisions and shame and guilt remain... But not everything that has been collected is our fault... But if we are going to become who we have been meant to be they are our responsibility. Who we are becoming is our responsibility. Ps 51 and 2 cor. 4v1-12 | 10/1/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

80 |
CleanThe Remnant | The walls and the gates are rebuilt, restoration of the CITY begins. Nehemiah restores the poor, worship and freedom as the remnant (the people who were in exile) begins to remember their great HISTORY and LEGACY. Ezra rejoins the efforts and Israel remembers WHO they were meant to be. The COVENANT community is rebuilt as Israel renews covenant with God. | 9/24/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
81 |
CleanRestoring the City | Nehemiah 2v10-20... In the face of opposition Nehemiah gathers a community of people to journey together in this massive god dream of rebuilding and restoring an entire city. We were never meant to go ALONE. We need deep connection, relationship, life giving, life breathing people to dream and journey together. Nehemiah grows as a leader that people WILL follow. | 9/17/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
82 |
CleanBurned and Broken | Nehemiah 1v1-11... Nehemiah becomes greatly burdened with the news that the walls are destroyed and burned... They’re defenseless with no economy and commerce, there’s no culture and society is a thing of the past. Essentially, Jerusalem is no longer a “city” with no people to claim home. God uses ORDINARY people in his great love story to RESTORE lives. | 9/3/09 | Free | View In iTunes |
|
83 |
CleanReckless Abandon | “...those who hunger and thirst after righteousness will be filled.” Some people show up to church and say, “I’m not being fed.” maybe its because you wore your bib to church instead of bringing your fork. As followers of Jesus we must take responsibility for our pursuit of growth in response to the gospel working in our lives. | 7/29/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanThe radical way of Jesus | Love will always lead to obedience and obedience will always lead to the radical way of Jesus... Disobedience will always lead us to a faithless life that will lead to a dead religion. | 7/15/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

86 |
CleanThe masquerade | What if following Jesus is more of a journey to unlearning than it is a journey to learning the “RIGHT” things to do? It seems as if Christianity has been masquerading herself around as a life giving “system” taking her cues from Jesus himself when in reality it seems it has become nothing more than a “glorified behavior modification mechanism”. If Christianity is going to bear the name of Christ we must be LIKE the one whose name we bear. | 7/1/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanArtists and Gardeners | “...after careful contemplation both the artist and the gardener adopt a posture of purposeful work... They bring their creativity and effort to their calling.” it has been our calling since the beginning of time to be creators of cultures... We are called to be catalysts in the human experience to the understand the divine. Understanding comes with participation... We must participate in culture if we are ever going to create. | 5/27/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

91 |
CleanGestures and Postures | There are appropriate gestures that are necessary to navigate and understand life especially as a follow of jesus and furthermore as the church... But when those gestures become postures, when they become our natural disposition there carry consequences that create barriers to the culture and the world. | 5/20/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanScandalous Grace | Crave, yearn, thirst, hunger, ache, itch, desire... Are these words that describe your pursuit of jesus? What if you knew that this is how he feels about you? CleanThe Response | Holiness is not a feeling, holiness is an identity. Holiness is not the answer, holiness is a response. Response to what? Holiness is a response to Jesus. Its a response to the gospel. Holiness takes place when the gospel takes root and continues to grow as the roots of the gospel dig internally deeper. Holiness is who we are because of the gospel. | 4/22/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanWall of Me | My burdens are barriers... patterns of destruction. A wall exists in my life that has separated me from the cross... Its a wall that I cannot seem to climb. Its a wall of sin. Its a wall of me. We must find our identity in the gospel and not in the mess that made us need the gospel. | 4/15/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanUnblemished | Colossians 1:21-23... The conversation must shift in the church to a dialogue that affects WHO I am not just WHAT I do... The words must be aimed at my core not just my morals, aimed at my beliefs not just my behavior. May I submit that my behavior will morph when my identity is transformed... “for I am HOLY in his sight thru the gospel and without blemish.” | 4/8/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanThe Way | We continue to discuss the paradigm shift from behavior to identity... Jesus nudged the cultural landscape and brought with him a new reality... It was referred to as “the way” and its vitality and influence continues to grow today. Orthodoxy and orthopraxy must find its identity in the gospel. | 4/1/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

CleanThe Voice Illuminated | Jesus makes these audacious claims, “I am the living water.” “I am the light of the world.” jesus was standing in the temple, the place built to house the presence of god and they missed him... CleanThe Voice Whispers | “... and then a gentle whisper.” do we look for signs or do we seek to listen to his voice? We must begin to know his voice through the gospel. This time God’s word taking on human form and enters history in the person of Jesus. In a world full of noise and full of voices, to whose voice are you listening? CleanLINGER | Eugene peterson writes that, “the moment the organic unity of belief and behavior is damaged in any way, we are incapable of living out the full humanity for which we were created.” the reality is that we are all broken and need to be made whole... Amazing
I think its so awesome to be able to hear a bible study that is actually focused towards people my own age. I love being able to hear God's word through the different teachers that are teaching each tuesday night for me to watch on my iphone. God is definitely what is most important in your group and I pray that you all will continue to focus on God!!!!
