Podcast Description

Welcome to the ThinkAtheist.com Radio Show. Free-thinking is guaranteed, all are welcome to participate! In January 2010, Synthaetica has started hosting the shows twice weekly. In the following March, an early show was added for our friends across the pond as well, so now you can catch the show three times a week. Weekend shows may fluctuate between Saturday and Sunday, but mid-week shows should be pretty solid on Wednesdays. Each show is unique and held as a loose forum with call-in guests and open discussion. Topics of interest cover a wide variety of subject matter, but often touch on politics (especially religious political movements), morality/ethics, relationships, community and many other things pertinent to atheism today. This Podcast was created using www.talkshoe.com

rambling, bad sound quality

Sorry to say, but the couple of shows I listened to so far were too rambling and didn't keep the interest up with enough content per minute. This is probably a result of this being a free-form "live" call-in type show, but even so it wouldn't hurt to be prepared with topics and an agenda to keep things moving. In one show, a religious/true-believer was interviewed or called in. The host seemed sadly unprepared to deal with the types of arguments this person offered. Embarassing! In another show, the host's audio was of such distractingly poor quality that I thought maybe they'd just over-compressed the mp3, but then a caller joined the show and sounded fine! Please, if you are going to run a podcast, figure out your recording setup first and test it out before each show! I will stick around and hope things improve after a few more shows.

Get more professional

You know, I can really appreciate the work and effort that goes into a podcast, but if you really don’t have time to do it professionally as possible, you may be waisting your time and your listeners. If you’re going to have a show in which you ramble and have small talk with your frequent guests/listeners, then don’t call it a podcast. Go have a private chat. I’m not saying you can’t have laughter and jokes, but dang I’ve listened to several of your shows and you tend to just ramble as if you’re talking on the phone. I think you could do a lot better than that. Sorry for the poor rating, but I’m just trying to be honest, because I would like this podcast to meet higher standards and really build a listenership in atheist communities.

Outstanding

I've listened to a few dozen shows and find them worthwhile, refreshing, and informative. Callers are always treated kindly regardless of background or position stated.
Thanks Seth, I'm happy to trade off some polish or content filtering in order to have more frequent podcasts.
