He doesn't beat you up if you disagree, but you know where he stands.

I received an ipod for Christmas (2006) and I already knew about Dennis from his book (Happiness is s Serious Problem) and columns on Townhall.com so I started listening by early January. He is polite and civil at nearly all times even with callers who clearly have an agenda. He will calmly explain his position and how he got there. He is Jewish but his depth of knowledge about historical and biblical Christianity is better than a lot of Christians I know. Some of the best debates I've had about Christianity were with a tribesman :) Too often debates are just two people talking over each other. We need more conservatives who can explain the position of the other side (usually better than they can) to demonstrate there is no confusion about it and then methodically explain why he feels they're wrong/he's correct. "Clarity over Agreement" is a great philosophy for a talk show. He is usually seeking to nail down what the other person thinks and isn't trying to get them to agree with him.

Prager may not always be right, but, at least, he will try to have an honest conversation about typically over looked issues.

Clear discourse about everything in life except cigars and stereo equipment

Dennis Prager has the most interesting talk show around. News and politics are covered in depth, but so is the rest of life from happiness, to male-female relationships, to what people did in school when they were bored. Dennis welcomes onto the show those who disagree with him and treats them with the utmost respect while also questioning the areas of disagreement. I've learned more history, logic, etc. in listening to this show than in college.
