Patrick J. Adams Interview - May 25,2012 | Patrick currently stars in the USA Network hit Suits.A Canadian native, Patrick graduated with honors from USC (where he collected the Jack Nicholson Award for acting). He immediately made a dent on American pop culture with his scene-stealing feature film debut as “Patch,” in the 2003 Will Ferrell classic comedy Old School, directed by Todd Phillips. He subsequently captivated Los Angeles theatre audiences in the lead role of “Billy” in the 2005 West Coast premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee’s savage family drama, The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia? at Center Theatre Group’s Mark Taper Forum. Directed by Warner Shook, this show was honored with “Best Production” at the 2005 Ovation Awards. Patrick subsequently produced and directed his own revival of Marat/Sade at the Sacred Fools Theatre, which collected “Best Production” at the 2007 LA Weekly Awards. He has made several appearances at the Ojai Playwrights Conference, originating lead roles in plays by writers Bill Cain and Keith Bunin, including Equivocation, Nine Circles, How to Write a New Book For the Bible: A Play For an Older Actress and The Busy World is Hushed. Martin Starr Interview May 22nd 2012 - May 23,2012 | He portrayed Bill Haverchuck on the short-lived NBC comedy-drama Freaks and Geeks (1999-2000) and Joel on the 2009 comedy-drama movie Adventureland. After Freaks and Geeks, Starr had a number of guest appearances and one-time roles on shows such as Ed, Mysterious Ways, Providence, King of the Hill, and Normal, Ohio. He had a small recurring role during the third season of Roswell as the character Monk. In 2002, Starr appeared in the films Stealing Harvard and Cheats. He also reunited with both Freaks and Geeks producer Judd Apatow and Freaks and Geeks co-star Seth Rogen when he made a guest appearance on Apatows sitcom Undeclared in the episode "The Perfect Date." In 2005, he appeared in the miniseries Revelations, the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother and the Apatow-produced Kicking & Screaming. Starrs most recent roles include Apatows 2007 films Knocked Up and Superbad, as well as Good Dick, Adventureland, The Invention of Lying and the recently released A Good Old Fashioned Orgy. Blayne Weaver - Interview - May 22,2012 | Blayne Weaver, of Bossier City, Louisiana, began his acting career in high school with the film The Flood: Who Will Save Our Children? (1993) (TV), an NBC movie of the week. His first major TV movie was The Good Old Boys (1995) (TV) with Tommy Lee Jones. He has since done guest spots on "ER" (1994), "JAG" (1995), "Chicago Hope" (1994), "NCIS" (2003) and did the voice of Peter Pan in Disneys animated film Return to Never Land (2002). He co-wrote and acted in the IFC feature film Manic (2001) (starring Don Cheadle), which premiered at the Sundance film festival. In 2004 he formed Secret Identity Productions with childhood friend Brandon Barrera. Their first film, Losing Lois Lane (2004), a short about a depressed Superman, was Weavers directorial debut. Secret Identity recently completed Outside Sales (2006), its first feature, which Weaver wrote and directed. He went on to write and direct S.I.Ps next feature Weather Girl (2009). Paul Phillips Interview - Apr 28,2012 | Paul Phillips was one of the lead guitarists of the band Puddle of Mudd. He grew up playing the guitar, following in the footsteps of his father. Phillips played with a number of bands before joining Puddle of Mudd. He produced four albums with the band, including Come Clean in 2001, Life on Display in 2003, Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate in 2009, and most recently, Re:(disc)overed in 2011. Phillips left the band in 2005, returned again in 2009, and then left once more in November of last year. Renée is currently developing a childrens book series, which will feature her very own dog, a French bulldog, Hugo. Zach Sale Interview - Apr 05,2012 | Since 2007, Zach Sale has taken on a variety of different roles in both television and film. He has most frequently appeared on the television series The Game as Chuck. Sale has had brief roles in other major television shows as well, including The Vampire Diaries, in which he played an EMT in the recent episode “The New Deal.” He also made an appearance on the hit show Burn Notice. Another one of his main roles this year was the short film The Tortured, which was released this past February. After high school, Karl successfully started and sold an internet based consulting business and was accepted to Columbia University as a business major. His studying and love of Shakespeare during a literature course influenced him to switch his major to theater at the Universitys School of the Arts. While at Columbia, Yune won the role of Romeo in an off Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet and was later signed to a talent manager. Karl continued to work as a theater actor in New York City and won critical and rave reviews for his performance as Gloucester in a contemporary rendition of Shakespeares Richard the III. While casting The Last Samurai, director Edward Zwick was impressed with Yunes audition tape and Karl went to Los Angeles for the first time to meet with the famed director. Zwick later informed Karl that the studio was to cast the film out of Japan, but encouraged Karl to move to Los Angeles as he saw promise in the young actors talent. Inspired, Karl moved to Los Angeles, only to learn that he was offered a five year contract back in New York, on the popular daytime TV drama All My Children. Yune passed on the offer and soon booked his first lead role in the cult film Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. The following year Karl was picked by producer Steven Spielberg to play the memorable role of Koichi, the secret lover to Li Gongs Geisha Hatsumomo, in Memoirs of a Geisha, based on the international best-selling novel. Karl continued to work in lead and supporting roles in award winning independent, foreign, and Hollywood films. Drew Powell - Sep 07,2011 | Drew Powell can be next seen in the major feature film remake of the 1971 film “Straw Dogs,” directed by Rod Lurie and due for release on September 16th. Powell grew up in Lebanon, Indiana, outside of Indianapolis. He graduated from DePauw University, where he majored in English Literature and was a Media Fellow, an honors program in media studies. He was active in the theatre department, and wrote and performed in campus television shows and student films. His first television appearance was a small co-starring role in the hit television series "Malcolm in the Middle." So impressed were the producers of the show that they wrote the role into episode after episode and even named the character after him: “Cadet Drew.” He appeared on many episodes of the show over two seasons. Next up for Drew was the prequel to "Bonanza" called "The Ponderosa” on which he played Hoss Cartwright. The twenty episodes produced continue to air on cable. Shooting in rural Australia, Drew met and fell in love with Veronica, now his wife, who was a make-up artist on the show. Drew’s first starring role in a major feature film is in the remake of the 1971 film “Straw Dogs,” directed by Rod Lurie and due for release in late 2010/early ‘11. Fastrack Interview 7.28.10 - Jul 29,2010 | Fastrack is a 4 piece rocknroll band based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. The band started in Janurary 2009 and literally hit the ground running. Their debut show was sold out on presales alone. This set the band up for a monster run of shows supporting some of Australias best rock bands. In August of 09 just 8 months after forming the band set off on their first east coast tour and released their debut EP appropriately titled "Hit The Ground Running" in Sept 09. 2010 saw the title track off the EP breakthrough on commercial radio gaining rotation in Feburary. The band Immediatly hit the road on The Loaded Gun National Tour. This saw the band play a dozen shows and gain a reputation for being one of the most entertaining bands on the local circuit. Fastrack are currently in the studio recording their follow up to Hit The Ground Running. The music can be described as hard hitting, fast paced, foot stomping rocknroll. The band are influenced by Guns and Roses, Motley Crue, Metallica, ACDC, Foo Fighters basically anything with thats guitar driven and rocks! They treat every show like its a party, and are out most nights promoting handing out flyers and trying to build on their loyal following. This is my favorite podcast! They have something for everyone at Vamp Radio and I love the variety. The chemistry the hosts have is very entertaining and I love listening to them in my car...driving time just flies by!
