Podcast Description

All David Flinch ever wanted was a normal life. But when you're a member of the Flinch family, normal has never been easy. For hundreds of years, the eldest male Flinch has been servant and guardian to the Lord Underwood. While the Flinches have changed through the generations, Underwood, a vampire, has been eternal. David had hoped to be spared the horror of serving his family's lord and master, but when he is summoned to the Flinch home in Spain by his dying older brother, he knows his luck has run out. Underwood must be resurrected from the grave in a ritual of human sacrifice, and David must be the man to do it. Because if he doesn't, an even greater evil than Underwood will rise: the evil that is David's sister. Underwood and Flinch is an epic horror-thriller that spans the centuries. From the teeming slums of 17th Century London to an ex-pat community in modern-day Spain, this is the new novel from Mike Bennett, author of 'One Among the Sleepless' and 'Hall of Mirrors'. Underwood and Flinch was a finalist in the 2010 Parsec Awards for best long-form novel and winner of the 2011 Polidori award for Best Podcast Vampire Novel. - One of the best podcasts ever. - Walt Kolenda, Examiner.com (N.B.) A modern master

Mike Bennett is a modern master of the just ever so slightly off. He's twisted, dark and most definitely funny and One Among The Sleepless is no exception. I would listen to Mike Bennett read his grocery list because I know it would be well written and exquisitely read…and he’s got a great voice.

Underwood and Flinch

I've been a fan of Mike Bennett's for a while. The first few episodes of Underwood and Flinch show that he's moved up to the level where only the finest podcasts dwell, and in my opinion, this represents such a small fraction of the total offerings that are out there. The storyline is compelling enough that I find myself listening to an episode more than once while I wait for the next installment. And Mike's range of voices is so versatile that the cast of one suffices admirably. The production quality is fantastic. As fussy as I am about my listening, if you like the horror/supernatural genre, it doesn't get any better than this. Check out Underwood and Flinch - you won't regret it, I promise.

Delight in the ghastly drips from every word

Mike Bennett wears the badge of "one sick @#%&" proudly. He revels in dishing out tales of the demented and strange. Not only is he a gifted wordsmith, he is one fine actor in his own right. One of the best podcasts on the net.
