Podcast Description

On a warm afternoon a week before Thanksgiving, 1849, Dr. George Parkman, one of the richest men in Boston, went missing. A massive manhunt uncovered pieces of a body in and under the Harvard Medical College. Professor John Webster was arrested for the murder. What followed was the most famous trial and conviction of the 19th Century.

Cool Mix of Film, Place and History

This is not like any other travel podcast I have tried. It's a like a murder story you walk around with in Beacon Hill. The places were kind of underground shops and historic sites, that give you pieces of this crazy crime from the early days of Boston and its Brahmin class. Along the route they've hidden very interesting clues--an old board game, historic stamps, pop-up books, and other surprising things. It's a pretty amazing story, and very well produced. Highly recommended if you're in Boston or you just want to watch a fascinating travel film.
