Customer Reviews
Import game fans, look no further
This is not the podcast for you if you're looking for updates on the latest installment of Halo or God of War. This podcast is laser-focused on the Japanese console gaming and import market, and if that's your area of interest there are few (if any) better resources. The panelists are all ex-writers for Play Magazine, which had a similar focus.
They monitor Japanese gaming news to track new and upcoming releases, they import and extensively play games that may never see the light of day in the U.S., and generally maintain a level of immersion in Japanese culture that is rare these days on this side of the Pacific. In short, these guys live for this stuff. That's a double-edged sword, as their heated discussions on the nuances of games can sometimes run long. Those hoping for a quick summary of the week's news may well be disappointed. But if you can't afford to actually import all the games being discussed (and who can?) the detailed reviews will help you make informed purchase decisions.
As a former hardcore gamer (who sadly no longer has sufficient time for the hobby) I'm glad to have WAHP. It's a great way to keep tabs on Japanese gems that might otherwise fall unnoticed into obscurity.

BEST import gaming podcast out there!
Nick, Casey and Shidoshi are simply awesome. The podcast is primarily about the Japanese gaming scene, but I will NOT say that you should only listen to this if you love Japanese gaming. If you LOVE GAMES IN GENERAL, you owe it to yourself to listen to this podcast just to see what will soon come over to our shores and what we are missing out on.
The aforementioned hosts are some of the most knowledgeable you will find on any gaming podcast. They are not the kind of hacks you will find on some other gaming podcasts where the hosts babble on about nothing for 2 hours. What you get with WAHP is oftentimes 3 hours of actual news, reviews and previews of Japanese games that you really will not find anywhere if you live in the US.
Give WAHP and listen and I guarantee you will be back for more and telling all of your friends about it like I do. THANKS SO MUCH GUYS FOR THIS WONDERFUL PODCAST!!!
a great podcast!
This podcast fills a niche that desperately needed filling. I can't think of a more qualified group of people to discuss Japanese gaming. Their discussions made me finally buy an xbox 360 to play some of the great shooters available. I hope this podcast continues to gain momentum!
