The Watkins Family Hour is a monthly residency at the Los Angeles venue, Largo, led by siblings Sean and Sara Watkins. For the past nine years they've brought in an eclectic group of guest musicians including Benmont Tench, Fiona Apple, Grant Lee Phillips, Jackson Browne, John C. Reily, among others.

WFH goodness in portable form!
People, if you do get a chance to go to the Largo and get to a Watkins Family Hour show, by all means, DO IT. If not, well -- hey, it's awesome that this podcast exists now, because there's nothing like the fun and surprises and sheer incredible musicianship (and delightful banter!) of one of these nights. It's hard to explain to people (at least, I can never quite convey it) but it's absolutely worth it. There isn't a single WFH I've been to that I haven't left with my mind completely blown by at least half the set. I'm thrilled that now I get to carry some of the experience around with me.
If you're a fan of good music and fantastic musicians playing together, you need this podcast. You really, really do.

Best show in Los Angeles. I try to turn all my musician friends on to The Watkins Family Hour. It's the Grand Ole Opry West...God bless Sara & Sean!
