Philippians 3:12-21 | Don’t let the past have any power over you. Focus only on what lies ahead. Press on and practice this form of living. Mature believers live this way. Beware of those whose behavior proves they are enemies of the cross. Live as a citizen of heaven. Download Powerpoint | 5/20/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Philippians 3:4-11 | The flesh at its best is still not good enough and the flesh at its best is beyond disgusting. The three glories are three failures. Circumcision is worth nothing; those born-again are the true Israel of God; the tribe of Benjamin are ravenous wolves. Paul therefore let go of past success and failures knowing that all that matters is knowing Christ and living as a man resurrected from the dead. Philippians 3:1-4 | It is our design to rejoice in the Lord. We are to beware of and avoid at all costs those who are impure of mind and shameless, those who instinctually cause harm, and those who twist the gospel with any form of legalism. True believers worship God in Spirit and place no confidence in the flesh. Download Powerpoint | 4/22/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Philippians 2:19-30 | Paul communicates a forward expectation of action: that they will put into practice his instruction before Epaphroditus or Timothy arrive. He expects them to clean house, receive these leaders, and honor them as brothers, co-workers, and fellow soldiers of the cross. Download Powerpoint | 4/15/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Philippians 2:14-18 | With a heavenly perspective we can do all things without grumbling or complaining resulting in our being lights in a dark perverse world. But we must hold to the Word of Life and let ourselves be poured out for others considering them more important than ourselves. In this we can rejoice. Philippians 2:12-13 | We are commanded to work out our salvation; to continue to believe and let Jesus’ love pour through us that we consider others more important than ourselves. We can do this because we belong to God who works in us and gives us the desire to obey Him. Download Powerpoint | 4/1/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Philippians 1:29-2:11 | Because Jesus humbled Himself, we likewise must be humble, like minded, and we must love with His love. If we do we will be united in Spirit and intent on one purpose and that is to do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit. We will consider others more important than ourselves in all things no exception. This was Christ’s attitude and it should be ours. This is what will bind us in joy. Philippians 1:1-30 | Paul talks about what really matters: unity, coming along side one another; togetherness in mind and priority, holding to a heavenly perspective, and remembering the Good News. These are all sources of joy. Whereas the joy killers are: division/separation, competition amongst brethren, individuality of mind and priority, a worldly perspective, and taking the Good News for granted. Introduction & 1:1-11 | In the story of Lydia, the founding member of the church at Philippi we see the fulfillment of God’s promises to the Gentiles. Paul expresses great love and commitment to the body at Philippi as we come to understand that we can have joy, great joy. This whole letter is about how to experience joy and the things that take away from joy. Download Powerpoint | 3/11/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Philippians: Introduction | The letter to the Philippians reflects a relationship between author (Paul) and recipient that is deeply affectionate, safe, and mature. Revelation 19:11-16 | Jesus is prepared for victory. He is dressed for war but it is clear that He comes on a victory campaign. He comes in righteousness and to save. Redemption is the story behind the story. Everything about His description speaks of His righteousness, His faithfulness, and how He is the only one who can wage war against wickedness in order to preserve those who will follow Him. Those who have not given themselves to the beast will become His people and He will rule them in justice and truth for He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. read more | 1/15/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 19:6-10 | All is in place for Jesus’ return with the exception of one event, the marriage supper of the Lamb. His sacrifice made it possible for us to participate in this great event. Blessed are those who are invited to this feast. The participants are clothed in the righteous deed which Jesus did in and through their lives. The bride of Christ is contrasted with the harlot of apostasy. Sadly, we find she lives even in John’s soul as he adulterously bows before the angel in worship. Revelation 18:17-19:5 | Even shipmasters and sailors mourn this woman’s demise. This is a picture of the pastors, elders, and leaders of religion. Those who fish for the souls of men. They mourn because they do not want to lose the money that she provided for them. The sailors of Tyre provide for us a type of those who serve this woman and grieve her destruction. Revelation 17:5-6 | Babylon the great, the mysterious name of the woman who rides the beast, is rooted in ancient Babel. Nimrod married Semiramis who started this cultic religion to maintain her husband’s power and control. This cult has spawned all the false systems of worship in the world, specifically the Mother/Son and female deity cults. Her religion has two tenants: 1) man can be good without the cross; and 2) and intolerance for true believers. As such, she has violently persecuted God’s people and spilled their blood; which is why she is clothed in scarlet; the color of blood and sacrifice. read more | 11/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 17:1-4 | This woman who rides the beast represents apostate religion. She seduces the peoples of this world with her abominations. Revelation: Review & Timeline | We have learned that Jesus is our Lord God Almighty. He is involved in all the details of our lives. As our Lord everything He allows is for His redemptive purposes in our lives. And as the Almighty no one can thwart His will. Revelation mirrors the work that God does in the lives of believers. He calls, when we choose Him, He does what is necessary to destroy all that is not Him to redeem us to His life. read more | 11/6/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 16:15:21 | Jesus says He comes like a thief. He always comes to invade the domain of the enemy and steal what the enemy once held. The final bowl judgment brings lightning, thunder, rumblings and a great earthquake. God declares that it is done. The judgment has been planned and now it has been completed. It is a judgment of people and apostasy. God uses these events to prepare the earth for its redemption. But there is still the hail. It is literal and people and the earth is pummeled. It is also metaphorical as Jesus always brings the hail on those who curse Him. read more | 10/30/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 15:4-8 | His ways are all just and true—even in His judgment. He sends seven plagues to break the will of man such that a remnant might be redeemed—without the pain they would never bend their will to His mercy. The nations will bow before Him because the presence of His glory will compel it. They will marvel at the righteous deeds that were done in and through His bride (the church) when they see us in our new bodies and given the authority to rule over them. Revelation - Feast of Trumpets - Chapters 11, 12, 13 & 14 | The seventh trumpet of Revelation 11:15 is the Final Trumpet celebrated on Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets. The entire ritual, tradition, and meaning of Rosh Hashanah (also known as the festival of the new moon), as well as the events surrounding Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), is a prophetic shadow of the complete story in Revelation 11, 12, 13, 14. Revelation 14:14-20 Part II | This is the second harvest of judgment; a judgment of those who have readied themselves for judgment. The earth and its inhabitants will be purified with the fire of judgment. The fire that destroys will be the fire that purifies. Jesus wages war against the nations and against the leaders of Christendom who failed to protect the sheep. It is a slaughter and there will be blood, lots of it. It’s not too late to be connected to the vine and bear fruit, but time will soon run out. Chose to fear the Lord and worship God before it is too late. read more | 9/25/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 14:6-8 | The Spirit causes us to fear God—to hate all evil and reject all that is not God—allowing us to give God glory and to worship Him. Revelation 14:1-5 | The 144,000 are prepared by the Lamb for their suffering, sacrifice, and offering. They have confidence because they belong to Him. Believers in heaven sing a song that only the 144,000 can know because only true believers have lived the experience. They have not given themselves to any other form of worship or any other god. They follow Jesus wherever He goes. Revelation 13:16-18 | The second beast is presently marking those who belong to the system of the beast—those from every class of society—such that they cannot now buy or sell or effectively participate in the world’s economic system unless they bear the spiritual but unseen mark. Those who are marked on the forehead are participants in the system, those marked on the right hand are advocates. 666 represents the name and it stands for religious tradition which peddles its power to gain wealth. read more | 8/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 13:13-15 | The second beast is presently performing great signs deceiving the peoples of the world with false religion preparing them to worship the first beast. Revelation 13:11-12 | The second beast, the False Prophet, leads the world into idolatry and worship of the first beast. But his spirit has been working through Christendom since the beginning leading people into idolatry and the worship of a false Christ. The mortal wound from which the first beast survived happened in the past; it is not referring to a future event but a past even to one of the heads (ancient empires). Rome was severed with a sword and divided; but its spirit still lives in western society. It will provide the platform of power for the beast, the man, the Antichrist. read more | 8/7/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 13:7-10 | The Lamb has a book: the Book of Life. Some names are in it; some names are erased from it; and some were never entered into the Book. This all deals with God’s foreknowledge, His justice, His predetermined plan, and man’s choice or his free will to come to Jesus and receive Him. And those who are captive to their Old Sinful Nature will remain captive and those who are destined to die for the Lord will die; it is their endurance and faith. Revelation 13: 2 and 4-6 | The animals used to describe the beast represent the character and nature of his kingdom. In Daniel 7 we get another more grotesque picture of the beast that parallels the passages in Revelation. The other animals in Daniel 7 represent nations/kingdoms that will be present during the final days. Two-thirds of the nations will follow the beast and one-third will be conquered and destroyed. The beast will blaspheme God, Jesus, and the people of God as the spirit of the Antichrist is doing today. read more | 7/24/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 12: 13-17 & 13: 1-3 | Satan evokes his followers to attack Israel and one nation (represented by the eagle) rescues the faithful elect and aids their escape to their place of protection. Satan then evokes the beast/Antichrist to attack the people of God. This is the war where he kills and damages faithful believers. But they are the victors for they were not afraid to die. Then we get a picture of the beast. He was the demonic spirit over six world empires and will be over the seventh. He will rise on the platform of 10 kingdoms that give him his power. But Satan (our adversary, the devil—the one who slanders, the deceiver of the whole world) lies to us and twists evil such that we think we can get some good out of it. Then we see Israel (as a woman) about to give birth to the Messiah. Satan tries to thwart His birth and kill the child by influencing Herod to slaughter all the children. They are described as two olive trees and two lampstands: 4 images. Their witness will be global. It is a picture of those who lived during the first 3.5 years of the tribulation and those who came to know the Lord during the tribulation. The first thing to know is that believers are marked or sealed and seem to have protection from the disasters that will transpire. The opening of the first seal sends the gospel out to the world where people will be redeemed to the Lamb from every nation, tribe, language, and people. The opening of the second seal brings war and unrestrained violence around the world. The opening of the third seal brings global famine; yet, the kingdom of the antichrist seems exempt or protected. The opening of the fourth seal brings death. read more | 3/27/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 5:1-14 | Jesus sits in His judgment throne ready to judge the inhabitants of the earth. He is worthy to judge because He gave His life (like the Passover Lamb that was slain) yet conquered sin and death. He is the mighty Lion of the tribe of Judah that is victorious over the mightiest of foes. And since by His sacrifice He redeemed us from every tribe, language, people, and nation; He is worthy to be praised with perfect praise. He deserves all power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, gory, and blessing forever and ever, Amen. read more | 3/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 4:1-11 | In Chapter 4 we get a glimpse of heaven in colors, pictures, symbols, and strange imagery. Everything speaks of the gospel of Jesus Christ and His plan to redeem the earth. It speaks of the peace that must come through war, the blessing that must come through blood; through finally dealing with the curse. We see a picture of the complete gathering of God’s people who will rule with Him on the earth. The message is communicated through Old Testament imagery using the Tabernacle, the tribes of Israel, their administration, as well as various allusions to Old Testament passages. read more | 3/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 3:14-22 | Those in Laodicea confused their personal wealth and success with their spiritual wealth and success. They believed that if God had “blessed” them then they must be doing it right. But they were wrong; all wrong. Jesus wanted them to embrace the fires of testing, trial and suffering that would purify their faith; He wanted them to choose to clothe themselves in His righteousness, and not their own form of “goodness.” He wanted them to let Him heal their eyes so they can see things according to God’s standard and not that of the world. read more | 3/6/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 3:7-13 | The letter to the church at Philadelphia encourages that it is possible to be faithful and to hold on to what the Lord has given us. And for us who are faithful He will protect us from the coming deception that will separate the few from those who are dead and almost dying (as in Sardis). Jesus wants us to be vigilant so the enemies to our faith don’t steal our reward. And God will vindicate us and judge/punish those who have harmed us; but we will be secure and we will be His glory. We will bear Jesus’ new name, the name of the Father, and the name of the city of the faithful. read more | 2/27/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 3:1-6 | The spiritual health of a church is not measured by its size, wealth, or ministry opportunities; one could have all of that and still be considered by Jesus to be dead or mostly dead. The problem is that people don’t know Jesus by the character and nature of His name (as their “I Am”). Only a few have not soiled their garments with “church worthy” deeds believing them to be Jesus worthy deeds. Download Powerpoint | 2/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 2:18-29 | The letter to Thyatira teaches us to let the word of God be our absolute authority. We must not desire a “word” from God more than we do the Word of God. We must not give deference, power, and authority to someone just because of a demonstrative gift; but all must be tested against the Word of God. The temptation to compromise in suffering is tremendous; but the Lord wants us to hold on to His faith and stand firm till the end. He sees what we are going through; it is will for our lives. We should not try and circumvent it. read more | 2/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 2: 12-17 | The letter to the church at Pergamum reminds us that any form of spiritual compromise will inevitably lead to moral compromise. The Lord desires us to be found not in our works for Him but in His Name, in His faith, as His faithful witness. Jesus wants to be all of that for us. Satan will attempt to persecute us; and when that does not work to compromise us through our cultural connection. It will start innocent and quickly move to capture us in the seductions of our surroundings. But if we conquer He will be our daily life and sustenance and He will even give us a new name. read more | 2/6/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 2:8-11 | The church at Smyrna was suffering for the Lord’s purposes; not because they did anything wrong; it was His plan to bring about a sweet fragrance from their lives. Satan conceived a plan, the Jews carried out the plan on his bequest, but Jesus was sovereign over the entire affair and used their tribulation to accomplish His will. read more | 1/30/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Revelation 1:12 to 2:7 | We get another amazing glimpse of Jesus through images, numbers, and colors; all of which will be used in conveying his message to the 7 churches. To the church at Ephesus Jesus opposes the “religion” of Christianity that is based on service, duty, and obedience. From our perspective and based on their spiritual resume, they were an active and amazing church; but Jesus was not impressed. Revelation 1:1-3 | We start our study in the book of Revelation: the unveiling of Jesus Christ. This letter is less about what will happen in the last days as it is a grandiose picture of our Love; our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. The Lord spoke to us in symbols, numbers, colors, and so on but they are discoverable and there is a codex found in the Old Testament that will help us interpret this text. Jude 20-25 | In order to be protected from the perils of apostasy we must build each other up in our faith; simply believing, as we did in the beginning, that Jesus is our Lord, our Master, and our Savior. We must allow the Spirit to fill us by eliminating all obstacles to belief. We must pray in the Spirit and keep our eyes on Jesus so we always stay in love with Him. Jude 12-13 & 16 | The Spirit puts the onus on us to identify the obvious; and that is the gross way in which apostates have infected and impacted the church. Jude 10-11 | The road of apostasy is a slippery slope of corruption. If apostates can’t manipulate God to get what they want by being good for Him and doing good for Him, then they will pillage the followers of God to take what they want. And then when that is not enough, they will demand the power, the authority, and the right to lead regardless of what God wants. Jude 5-9 | God used 3 extreme examples of apostasy in the Old Testament (His own people, the Angels, and Sodom and Gomorrah) to communicate the dangers of teaching which perverts the grace of God and adds anything or takes anything away from our needing to live 100% dependent upon Jesus for every part of our lies. Jude 1-4 | The ungodly have crept into the church and they have perverted the grace of God and in so doing have infected many with their wrong belief and unbelief. As a result too many believers are tied so tightly to their “religion” that they scarcely know the person of Jesus Christ. Sure they know Jesus as Savior but not as their Master and Lord; the One who is supreme over all the details of their lives. We must fix our eyes on who Jesus is and who we are in Jesus’ eyes. The proper view of Jesus will strengthen you and enable you to run your race with endurance. We have to know that we do not belong to this world, we are exiles and strangers, we have been chosen out of this world to accomplish the Lord’s purposes in the world. The Significance of Donkeys - Taryn Davis | Donkeys are famed throughout the Bible but entirely misunderstood. They stand as a metaphor for our lives. The wild donkeys exhibit all the characteristics of a person who lives according to his/her flesh (Old Sinful Nature); whereas, a tamed donkey is symbolic of a person who lives according to their new life in the Spirit of God able to bear the burdens of others serving the will of the Master. Hebrews 10:11-25 | All our religious rituals and systems of personal penance and sacrifice are as useless as the Levitical system when it comes to personal cleansing. Christ made a single sacrifice and you have been sanctified (which is why you can always draw near to the Father) and you are being sanctified which is why He can just sit at the right hand of the Father—nothing else needs to be done but the renewal of your mind so your thoughts and beliefs line up with your spiritual reality. read more | 2/21/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Hebrews 10:1-10 | The old covenant was just a shadow of the new. The blood of animals could not take away sin; God demanded a body. Man sinned so man must be judged; thus, the Son of God became man to be judged for all mankind. As a result, we are sanctified! Therefore, religious acts of redemption can never improve our position with God. Jesus was the Father’s bondservant setting the example for us to follow. Hebrews 9:1-28 | The old covenant was made obsolete by the cross and with the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD the Levitical sacrificial system vanished. All that remains is the new covenant enacted on the promise that we would defeat Satan and dwell in the presence of God without fear, holy and righteous, during our time on the earth. If religious systems still exist in our soul, we cannot find our way to the presence of God. The old covenant (including the tabernacle and all the implements) was symbolic of our new life in Christ. read more | 2/7/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Hebrews 8:1-13 | Jesus sits at the right hand of power of the Majesty in heaven, as a minister in the true holy place which He made. His priesthood is better for it is based on His blood and not on anything we do for Him. He has given us a new nature through which all His promises are fulfilled in us and through us. He promised to be our God and put His law on our hearts and in our minds so we can know Him and rest in being His people. Download Powerpoint | 1/31/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Hebrews 7:1-28 | Jesus is bigger and better than the Jewish priesthood for He was after the order of Melchizedek—the priesthood of the Messiah which is unchanging. He was innocent, unstained, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens. His one perfect sacrifice was good enough for all. He lives forever to make intercession on our behalf and every moment of our existence we are saved to the uttermost. Download Powerpoint | 1/24/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Hebrews 6:9-20 | God remembers our works of love done toward the Name so we can have the full assurance of hope till the end. The assurance of our salvation (which is dependent upon His character and nature) is our motivation to follow the pattern of those who live by faith and in this life inherit the promises of peace, rest, joy, love, etc. God is faithful and His promises, for now and eternity, are guaranteed with an oath and it is impossible for God to lie. Hebrews 5:11-6:9 | It’s time to grow up and stop living like children who do not believe—time to move from the milk of religion to meat. If you continue to harden your heart to God and persist on returning to religion you will not share, in this life, in the promises of peace and rest or the things that pertain to your great salvation. God will honor your choice to reject Him and let you wander around the wilderness of unbelief never enjoying the benefits of the Promised Land. read more | 1/3/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Hebrews 4:14-5:10 | Jesus passed through the impassable barrier of death opening the way to the true holy of holies (whereas the Levitical priests entered a copy and then only once per year). We must hold fast to our confession of faith for Jesus is able to relate to our experiences and help us in our weaknesses. Hebrews 4:1-13 | God wants us to experience His rest but we must not be like the Israelites who chose to live in unbelief. They did not unite the truth about God with faith because there were areas of serious wounding in their soul that they could not reconcile with a loving God. The Word of God shows us all our wounds, nothing is hidden, and he wants us to consider that the wounds He allowed in our life were a great act of love. Hebrews 3:1-19 part 2 | Those who choose to live in the “religion” of Christianity wander the wilderness of wrong belief and unbelief wondering why the promises of peace, rest, joy and God’s agape love are never fully realized in their lives. In the desert God is still faithful to provide, defend, and lead, but He is your enemy for without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 1:3-14 | The greatest of all Jewish leaders (Abraham, Moses, and the Priests) do not compare to Jesus; after all, He upholds the universe by the word of His power. Jesus blood was enough and His atonement was permanent and not a temporary fix which is why He can now sit down at the seat of power—in the judgment seat. He is even superior to Angels even though He had become a man. The Spirit used 7 examples from the Old Testament to prove that nothing in Judaism compares to Jesus. Hebrews 1-3 | Hebrews must be interpreted first through the eyes of 1 century believing Jews in Jerusalem and Judea who were being persecuted by those loyal to Judaism. We don’t know who wrote it but it was written prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. These believers were being tempted to return to Judaism to find relief from their persecution. Despite our struggles and times of wavering, God's grace is always present and unchanging. Throughout this teaching we can see that although it was the Lord who predestined us to know Him, we have a choice to believe what He says is true about us. John 17: 11-19 | In this passage of John we encounter Jesus' intimate fellowship with the Father as he prays for his disciples and the future believers. He prayed that the Father would watch over us with the Word (Jesus Himself) such that evil does not influence our lives (not that we would be absent from encountering evil, but that we would not lose faith in the midst of it). We discuss why Judas was not under God's provision, and why he was not washed in the Word nor chosen by God to believe in Jesus. read more | 1/11/09 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 16: 16-33 | Here we look into the deep meanings behind Jesus' statements when he told the disciples that He would soon be gone, and then reappear. He was not only talking about His immediate death and resurrection, but also was giving us a look into circumstances regarding His second coming and the rapture of the church. We glance at Revelations, as well as other texts throughout scripture to grasp a more complete meaning of his phrase. John 16: 5-15 | In this passage, Jesus talked to his disciples about his plan to return to the Father. He explained to them that this was necessary in order for them to receive the Holy Spirit into their hearts. John 15: 18 and 6: 4 | Jesus told his disciples that they would be persecuted, killed, and hated for His sake. He wanted them to understand that the hatred they would experience was merely a reflection of the spiritual battle that is currently raging between the powers of good and evil (Eph 6:12). The church experiences persecution around the world in ways that we may never know in America, but we are not immune. Often the greatest persecution we face comes from those within the church itself, who claim to know Christ but that in reality have not put their faith in Him alone. read more | 11/30/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 5: 31-47 | Jesus's final words to the Jewish leaders who condemned Him not only refer to John the Baptist and God as His witnesses, but they also condemn the so-called Jewish "teachers" who did not truly have God in their hearts. They were truly guilty, since they were of God's chosen people and had already heard and seen the Word and works of God, yet they denied the Prophet their own scripture pointed to. This is similar to many mainstream Christians, who are willing to let Jesus be their "Savior," but not their "Lord"; that is, they will let Him redeem their sins, but not guide their lives. read more | 4/13/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 5: 19-23 | In speaking to Jewish leaders, Jesus said he could do absolutely nothing outside the will of the Father. This means that we who are blessed with the Holy Spirit, cannot honor God unless we are continually seeking and actively practicing God's will. This applies to all the details and decisions of our lives – for if we decide to follow our own wisdom, knowledge, emotions, and desires, we merely honor ourselves. So when we preach about honoring God, yet honor ourselves instead, this makes us a stumbling block, rather than a blessing, to unbelievers trying to know God. read more | 4/6/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 5: 1-18 | Jesus demonstrated His perfect submission to the Father's will when he healed the lame man at the pool of Bethesda. Walking through a crowd of ailing, sick people, all of whom could have used His help, He went directly to this one man who had been lame for 38 years and could not get in the healing pool, and told him to get up walk away with his mat. This is how Jesus saves us; he tells the truth, and when we believe His word, we are healed. We are then to get up and walk away from the disease and dysfunction of our old lives, living the pure lives of those who are healed and saved. read more | 3/30/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 5: 24-30 | After resurrecting from physical death and appearing to over 500 witnesses, including John himself, Jesus proved the truth of His word - and His lordship over life and death. Jesus promised that anyone who hears and believes the word of God will be resurrected just as He was, both in this life and after we die. In this life, we are resurrected from the hopeless death of our flesh and its bondage to sin. John 4: 43-54 | When Jesus healed the son of the man from Capernaum, He chastised the man for needing to see miracles in order to believe. This is in contrast to the townspeople of Sychar, who believed in Jesus just by hearing His word. Lacking humility, the man from Capernaum needed to see wonders before he could accept the truth. Jesus healed the boy, but his reaction to this father highlights the blessing of believing the truth just by hearing. When we are humble enough to listen, the fruit of the Word can grow quickly and strongly within us. read more | 3/16/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 4: 27-42 | When Jesus's disciples saw him talking to the woman at the well, they feared how that interaction might look to others. That same worldly fear of indecency has led many believers, even now, to create rules that seemingly discourage temptation - although the Word of God clearly states that those living in Spirit need no such restrictions. But Christ, regardless of the cultural norms of His day, knew that this immoral woman would believe in Him. And when she came to believe He was the Messiah, she showed her active belief in the truth by running into the town and announcing His arrival. read more | 3/9/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 4: 1-26 | When Jesus walked to Galilee through Samaria and encountered the woman at the well, He broke many religious taboos of the day. In his unwavering adherence to the Father's will, he traveled through Samaria, though that country was off-limits to any self-respecting Jew. Also, it was considered indecent to talk to a woman alone - and the woman He chose was a social outcast! Yet regardless of her heritage, gender, and social standing, Jesus chose her as the first one to whom He would reveal Himself as the I AM, the Messiah. read more | 3/2/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 3: 22-36 | These verses shed light on how ministry works when it is truly led by God. When John's disciples told him that Jesus had come and that His ministry was drawing followers, he did not fret about the success of his own ministry. Rather than worrying about his own gain from a worldly perspective, he responded out of joy that more souls were being saved, and restated that he was not an equal to Christ, who came from heaven. He was willing to decrease so that Christ might increase. read more | 2/17/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 3: 9-21 | In Jesus's conversation with Nicodemus, a ruler and teacher of the Jews, he exposes the lack of belief and understanding that extends to the highest levels of Jewish leadership. He clearly tells Nicodemus that He is the One who came from heaven and who was One with God, and that only his words and sacrifice bring salvation. In our lives, we must understand what Jesus went through on our behalf, and live from the understanding that His sacrifice brought us pure, righteous, and holy. read more | 2/10/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 2:23 to 3:8 | Why didn't Jesus entrust himself to men, even those who believed in Him? He understood, as the scriptures say, that man's heart is full of evil and deceit - and that it never ceases to oppose and hate God. This strikes at the core of our beliefs about our good nature and intentions, attacking our pride, our feelings, our logic, and our dreams. In view of God's perfection we are all hopelessly selfish and evil, and no amount of work we do can be pleasing to Him. read more | 2/3/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 2: 13-23 | In seeing how Jesus cleared the Temple of merchants and money-changers, we see how strong he was in his Father's authority. Even though he violently disrupted the political/religious/financial authorities of his day, he was not arrested, because the priests were astounded by such conviction. In challenging the hypocrisy of what Judaism had become, he demonstrated his surpassing love for the Father, and exemplified for those who follow in his name that we must purge all hypocrisy from the temples of our bodies, clearing out the holy space wherein the Spirit dwells. read more | 1/27/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 2: 1-12 | Jesus' first miracle, one of only eight mentioned in the Book of John, was the creation of wine from water. His initial reluctance to perform this miracle illustrates his total reliance on God, regardless of what he or anyone else wanted. The fact that the transformation took place in ordinary containers, and was only revealed to the house servants, is a metaphor for how the word of Christ works in the world: it changes ordinary people, and precious few ever receive the truth of "who" God is, rather than "what" He offers. read more | 1/20/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 1: 35-51 | When Jesus began his ministry, he was quickly recognized as the Chosen One of God by John, Peter, Andrew, Philip and Nathanael. This was not because of what he offered, but because of who he was - which is key in understanding our own relationship with God. In growing to know who God is through Christ, we gain a steadfast love for His nature and presence in our lives, rather than the ever-changing emotions that stem from what we do or do not have in our lives. read more | 1/13/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 1: 29-34 | In referring to Christ as the "Lamb of God," John richly associates Jesus with not only the sacrificial Passover and atonement lambs, but with the ram God gave Abraham in Moriah to sacrifice instead of his son, and with the lamb spoken of in Isaiah who would be crushed for the sins of man. John also reveals that he knows Christ to be pre-existent, and therefore one with God. This introduces a consistent theme in the Book of John: that of Jesus' oneness with the Father's will, in all his words and actions. read more | 1/6/08 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 1: 19-28 | Did John the Baptist fulfill the Old Testament prophesy regarding the prophet who would come in the power and spirit of Elijah, to announce the arrival of the Messiah? Although many have claimed that he did not, the Old Testament prophecies, when combined with their New Testament interpretations, show that he did. Drawing upon the likely history of his life, along with the societal constructs in which he lived, we find useful context for understanding his exact wording and mode of expression. read more | 12/16/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

John 1: 1-18 | When it was first preached, the ministry of Christ seemed to contradict Jewish belief - yet Jesus actually fulfilled the Truth of all the scripture and prophets that preceded him. Jesus and God, although two in entity, are one in nature, essence, construct, and substance. In other words, Jesus existed with God before all creation and came to be God in human form. read more | 12/9/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

John: Background and Overview | To fully understand the book of John, it is necessary to understand who John was and the audience to whom he wrote, as well as why and how he gave his testimony. As one of Jesus' inner circle of three, he witnessed the events he spoke of, and recorded them so that all may believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that through belief we may have life in his name. read more | 12/2/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

How God Speaks - 3 | In this teaching we take a look at what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus. Jesus offers us everything, but in exchange He asks for everything from us. Nothing that we think we deserve, think we want, think we need, can we be stubborn to hold on to. God is asking us to count it all as worthless when compared to the infinite value of knowing Him. He desires for us to become a hero of faith, understanding that our lives may be filled with pain, torture and humiliation, just like His was. However, in the end, we are gifted an eternity of perfection in the Promised Land. read more | 5/13/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

How God Speaks - 1 | The primary way God talks to us and even leads us is through His Word. God promises us many things through the Word if we are willing to do the work to practically seek Him in it, however, if those promises are our goal, we will be sadly disappointed. We must seek God to know Him. This is to be our focus and the promises are to be the icing on the cake. We need consistency in our relational pursuit of Him if we want to consistently receive His leading in our lives. read more | 4/29/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

In order to see and understand the Word clearly, we much be willing to approach it in humility, knowing that our own wisdom is worthless compared to the priceless wisdom of God. read more | 4/22/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

Search the Word it is Living | If you are willing to give the word of God its place of authority in your life and submit to its leadership, not out of fear or coercion, but because the word was sent to do a work of redemption, love and mercy in your life, then it will expose every thought and intention of your heart. However, this is not to hurt or embarrass you, but to show you what you need to push aside to remove the static and all of the barriers that interfere with hearing the voice of God and seeing His leadership and His love in your life. read more | 4/15/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

Search the Word it is True | If the Bible is the Word of God, then it is our very source and our treasury of all that we need to know about God, and therefore, it should have a place of authority in our lives. However, if the Bible is not the Word of God and is instead, just a collection of historical stories and creative analogies, then its place of authority in our lives should naturally be suspect and questionable. read more | 4/8/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

We Must Reciprocate | In order for us to hear the voice of God and receive His wisdom for our lives, we need to focus on developing a mutuality in our relationship and removing all that is in our lives that causes interference and obstruction to our unity and oneness with Him. Proverbs 2 gives an us outline of what this type of relationship is to look like in terms of our reciprocation to the things God has promised for our lives and the relationship He extends to us. read more | 4/1/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

Stand and Endure | In this teaching we take a closer look at the life of Paul: his sufferings, his persecutions and his ability to stand and endure. Although Paul's experience on this earth was met with great trial, he found life and strength in the Spirit of God. Through the truth of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the invasion of the Holy Spirit into Paul's body, he was able to live as a bondservant to Jesus, willing to walk whatever path was set before him. read more | 3/25/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

The God Who Speaks | God's voice and leading in our lives always comes by way of our relationship with Him. In this study, we dig into the definition of relationship and the 5 essential factors that must be present in order to have a successful relationship with God. God is always trying to communicate with us, so if we haven't heard Him, it is not that He isn't talking, but that we cannot hear Him because there are too many things we have placed between us and Him that separate us and mute His voice. read more | 3/18/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

Love is the Proof | The concepts of the love of God for many of us, even within Christianity, have always seemed more global and all-encompassing instead of personal. On the flip side, many of us have a very easy time connecting to the discipline, judgement, anger and wrath of God. Regardless of this dynamic, God still wants to prove to us that He is who He says He is. He wants is to know beyond a shadow of a doubt how much He loves us, wants to heal us, and wants to be involved in the details of our lives. read more | 3/11/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

What About Sin | It seems that anyone who talks about coming to God next talks about the need to stop sinning. A common experience in the Religion of Christianity has been to focus largely on sinful behavior and trying to execute this sin in people's lives. However, this job belongs to the Holy Spirit of God. In addition God's perspective of sin is not centered on the behavior but on the sin of unbelief in Christ. read more | 3/4/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

Generational DNA | Here, we take a look at the differences between generations, the things they have endured, and their ways of coping with their pain. Unbelief 666 | In this teaching we take a look at the disciples that deserted Jesus in John 6:66. The disciples were unwilling to come to Jesus on His terms, instead they sought to find a religious list of things they could do for Him to gain His approval. God declares that the only thing He requires of us is to believe. If we are willing to believe what He has done for us on the cross, what He promises to be for us and how He will provide for us, He will never reject us. If we look only to Him for our answers, He will permanently satisfy us, make us complete, and meet our every need. read more | 2/18/07 | Free | View In iTunes |

Only One Thing is Required | From the perspectives of those both inside and outside of Christianity, most would agree that the Religion has consistently failed us. God promises a light and easy load, rest for our souls, joy, an abundant life, and much more. However, because the Religion of Christianity has moved from being focused on faith (the one thing required of us) to being focused on behavior, these promises of God are rarely experienced in our day-to-day lives. God desires each of us to shake off the man-made rules of Religion and learn to live by faith. read more | 2/11/07 | Free | View In iTunes |
