ExplicitThat's all folks | This week we are joined by Nick and Ashok, our 2 most regular guests. There won't be much blurb because.....if you've been paying attention you'll know we're taking a hiatus. If you haven't been paying attention, well, we're taking a haitus. Because of this today we discuss some very controversial topics, just because. We then adjourn outside and enjoy the summer evening with some stogies, whiskey and fun company, remembering some fun times from our previous podcasts. We'll be doing some podcasts in the upcoming monsts, but not a regular weekly thing, at least not for the near future. And that, as they say, is that. Bite My Shiny Metal Ass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRnq-PFboMI (BMSMA...used to be Kiss my shiney metal ass....a quote from Bender on Futurama.) G&S | 8/15/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitThe world seems to be going to hell in a hand basket....or that's what they want us to believe. | This week, we start off fun, talking about Simon's flying, a party, a Doobie Brothers concert and Greg's attendance at a Cohiba store event. Then we start to get into the meat of the stuff: We're being told the world is falling to pieces, and a lot of it seems to be manufactured. The debt ceiling BS is having stock market implications and the 24 hour news media is going nuts over it of course. There's rioting in London, and since people there are no longer allowed to defend themselves, it's getting out of hand. Where's the debt repayment from the bailouts? The reverse mortgage scam. Somalia of course. The problem with 24 hour news stations. Then we talk about bad drivers of course too of course. BMSMA G&S | 8/8/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitOK, third attempt....It's August already | Our hosting company kept having a bad day and not uploading, so third attempt. This week we talk about Simon's super fun week (which included a wedding, usually boring but not in this case.) Greg talks about his week, and for once, SImon's was more fun. We do talk about the debt ceiling debacle that was finalized today, and we got shafted. No surprises there. We postulate on the reason for San Jose's rising homicide rate....it's gang related, so guess where the gang members come from? We also talk about a sad story, a quadriplegic man died while parachuting. It's sad, but sort of amusing too....sometimes nature tries to tell you when you shouldn't be doing something. Of course, we talk about bad drivers too, as there's always lots of those about. See our blog for links and more.... www.whatthehelljusthappened.com BMSMA. G&S | 8/1/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitFreakin' crazy week | OK, that week was just insane. We talk about a lot of what's been going on, from the Norwegian nut job who went and killed 68 people on an island, and let off a bomb in Oslo, about Amy Winehouse's untimely (but not unexpected) death, about the bullet train crash in China and the debt ceiling drama that ocntinues unabated....as well as other crazy stuff that all went down in the space of one week. Greg reads a letter from a confirmed pschopath, justifying why we should let them rule the world (Seriously, this letter is genuine) and Simon reads out part of a letter from his Congressional Representitive, after he sent a scorcher to her about the debt debacle. We close up talking about our weeks.....so it's reverse order podcast this week. BMSMA. G&S | 7/25/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitIt's the summer baby. | Welcome back to .....oh wait.... This week, we discuss the plethora of topics and whiz through them at a rapid pace....hehehe...you saiw "whiz". We indulge in the wonderful weather we're having and explore, albeit briefly, our favorite ways to enjoy it. We review some of the movies we've seen recently: Cars 2. The Expendables. Paul. We anticipate with childish joy the release of Winnie the Pooh. Simon was up in Seattle, so he discusses that trip. Carmagedon....the drama that wasn't. More bad drivers, on foot and behind wheels. Prius drivers....what the hell is wrong with them? The Casey Anthony trial, now it's all over. The World Cup. Rupert Murdoch.....Ahhhh haaaaah. Pay back is a beatch isn't it. BMSMA. ExplicitHello matey peeps. | This week the band is back together. Ashok, Greg and Simon are together for the first time since the UK trip back in APril, and we spend a little time recounting some of the joint adventures, as well as getting an update from Ashok....after leaving York, he ventured up to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Loch Ness....no monster but he offers some insight into that particular phenomenon. We temporarily become grumpy old men talking about lousy drivers, (last minute lane changing mofos, no blinkers, and the ultimate frustration...people in fast cars driving far too slowly, like 19mph). We compare driving tests. We briefly discuss the Casey Anthony trial. We mention, with tear filled eyes, the last Space Shuttle launch, but have a glimmer of hope of what's coming next. Ashok traveled to Pakistan on business, and he tells us of his experiences there, including a trip to Taxila, and the present political situation there. BMSMA. So, this week, even though it's not memorial day, it's the 67th anniversary of D-Day...and that's a biggy in case you forgot. They had their own beach, Juno, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juno_Beach. The US had 2, the UK and Commonwealth had 2 and the Canadians, even though part of the Commonwealth, had their own.....and get very little recognition for it. Way to go guys. ExplicitBurka Babes, 2011. | Welcome to this week's podcast, where we are joined by our semi regular guest.....Nick. And the humor/discussion descended into the realm of scatological shortly thereafter....which is odd since Nick is a smart guy. We discussed Osama of course, and the new media's ongoing obsession with his killing. We delve into Ron Paul's habit of being totally honest and how it will kill his political career. We discuss a new tactic for dislodging the Taliban....porn bombs, where we drop 500 pound bombs full of hard core porn. "Burka Babes". that's distract the double standard chauvinistic Taliban if ever anything will, especially the teenage recruits who will be too distracted and happy to join up to the violence. We discuss corporate tax and an unusual third option....one that will never work as it just makes too much sense. The Space Shuttle Endeavor lifts off for it's penultimate flight. :-( Home grown terrorists and how lenient should we be on them...and the potentials? That's a tough question. Rush in concert....yeh. ExplicitIt's crazy out there man! | This week we play a little catch up, as we didn't publish last week :-( Greg regails us with Cohiba store stories, of which there are, as always, many. Simon had a busy week last week. All March, flying was not happening due to the atrocious weather. Last week was suddenly all steam ahead. 3 flights in one week, 2 of which were down to LA....listen to find out the details! Then we talk about the nutty driving situation that was happening this weekend. Boy was it crazy. More nut job drivers per square mile than we've ever seen before, and that's saying something! Transocean.....way to go mother f*****s! (Go to our blog for more details, or just listen to the damn podcast!) Oh yeh, and there's a bloody big hole in the Ozone layer again. ExplicitWelcome to reverse world | This week we start everything in reverse. We start off grumpy (and get happier during the show) with Greg unhappy about people going into work sick, when there's no need. Bollocks! Why bowling allies and small kids don't mix.....and why kids are irritating, parents are shirking their responsibilities and other people have to pick up the pieces. Career politicians and why they're destroying the nation/world. "It's a series of tubes." Why kids should be forced to do menial work before graduating school/university, with no opt out option for politician's kids....and a surprising benefit for the nation. Mexico blames the US for it's gun problems.....and why this isn't true at all. http://www.borderlandbeat.com/2011/02/mexicos-gun-supply-and-90-percent-myth.html?spref=fb Why the right to self defense is one of the key human rights. ExplicitCoughs, Cigars, drip irrigation and more flying. | This week we celebrate our first podcast of our second year. Wrap your heads around that one! Greg's been sick, so is coughing and spluttering his way through the whole podcast. We explore the naming process for hi-tech equipment. Nerds...what can we say. Simon's been doing more flying training. The full blog is on our web site, www.whatthehelljusthappened.com Crazy weather....we had snow in the San Francisco Bay Area. Huh?!?!?! Lybia and crazy Middle Eastern antics. The US hidden weapon, shale oil, and the "Last man standing" philosophy. We refer to this video, which is very funny and we first posted about almost a year ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlKL_EpnSp8 Consiracy explaining why no oil energy alternatives are successful and we briefly mention compressed air cars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compressed_air_car Why drinking water will be one of the major sources conflict and societal manipulation. ExplicitOur 1st Anniversary Show! | Wow! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, PEOPLE! If we knew we'd have made it this far, we would've taken better care of ourselves (http://www.instantrimshot.com). And, in honor (honor? I don't even KNOW 'er!!) of this landmark event, we have our most regular visitor Ashok on board. We speculate on how the podcast has changed, how we "interview", and the ability to keep things fresh in a friendly yet curmedgeonly way. Then, following a fair bit of benevolent banter, we all retire to the outside patio where we fire up some Mexican stogies and engage in outside talk ... whatever that means. :-) (We were gonna add a video "simulcast" of our cigar chat outside, but ran into some gleeful glitches trying to get a new YouTube page made ... if we can find another video streaming site, we'll upload & link it here.) And that, friends, is our 1st Anniversary Podcast! ExplicitIt's The Day of The Valentine ... Time for Cigars!! | All right, friends, welcome back to "What The Hell Just Happened?"! Oh yeah, happy fargin' Valentines Day, too! In this episode, recorded the week before the Super Bowl, we podcast from the Cohiba Cigar Lounge in high-falootin' Santana Row here in San Jose. We chat with Sam (one of the guys who works there) about cigar tech. What better place to talk tech than here in Silicon Valley, too! We're then joined by co-owner Arbi, who gives us a walk-through of the store. We get the lowdown on the store, more cigar tech, and the wonder of cedar in humidors among other things. (You can hear a couple other guys in the background off in the distance ... we'll try to get them on the next time we podcast down there, heheh!) We even get to chat with an MMA fighter, too, for a bit. Good stuff! Enjoy, one & all, and preferably with a good stogie! BMSMA, G&S | 2/14/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

We then broach, briefly, NASA asking for another shuttle flight to be allowed. What are anchor babies and what are the attempts to stop this process (loophole). Greg's amazing Taco Bravo experience. ExplicitA week of extremes. | This week, we naturally discuss our recent activities, which, of course, involve the Cohiba store at Santana Row. A couple of really fun things this week......we took another flight to Monterey, because there were lots of clouds. We partook of the incredible avocado burger that is served at the airport restaurant.......it can not be over stated enough how good this thing is! We took video too :-)......here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubo3CzXSwwE On the way back, while talking to Norcal Air Traffic Control, we learned that there had been an earthquake. They didn't know how bad for a while but advised us to stand by to find out whether we could land or not.....just what a pilot wants to hear! It turned out to be a 4.1 earthquake. Then we had a reasonably close encounter with the big Farmer's blimp! Greg's father had a birthday, so he went up to the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco to celebrate. Nice. Some of the best Prime Rib you'll ever have. Seriously yummy. Simon spent some time talking to guys who'd been to the CES in Vegas the previous week, which is the biggest consumer electronic trade show in the US. It seems that despite lots of pretenders to the throne, the uPad still rules the roost....with the also rans still playing catch up. We discuss the possibility of AppleTV as a source for distributed house sound system....very cool. Android phone, vs, iPad/iPhone.....The Android is very cool but it is just too complicated and has a lousy battery life. Australian flooding. Bloody hell that's bad! Of course we have to mention the Arizona shooting. That's seriously bad too, and it leads into a (biased) discussion on gun control and we turn into grumpy old farts for a few minutes. And that wraps it up for this week. BMSMA. G&S. | 1/10/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitHappy New Year | Happy New Year! This week we discuss what we did over New Year. Some of it was together, some of it, elsewhere....but it was fun. (with lots of side distractions along the way) One of the things we did over the Christmas/New Year break was to take a flight to Monterey, California, to have what is, collectively and individually, our favorite burgers. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le0qEfB1TVA For the last third of the show we talk about a few news articles that caught our attention in the first week of 2011. ExplicitPhew, that year went fast! | This week, to close out 2010, we have a couple of repeat guests on. Nick and Ashok join us to end the year. Since no one bothered to send us requests for what to recap......we initially were going to talk about some serious political nonsense, but since it was the last show of the year and we were all in festive moods, it ended up as a jovial and laugh a minute show. We recap our Christmases, and what fun we had. (Nick's has included lots of "Some Assembly Required.") We ask the important question...."At what age would you feel comfortable letting your kids go on Facebook?" The conclusion.....21?!?!?!?!?! We discuss our new years revolutions. Yeh right. These include travel plans......"It's Tuesday, it must be Paris." Nick is the smartest....."I don't do resolutions!" For the last time this year, we head outside to freeze our collective butts off....just for s***s and giggles. We discuss the dumb s**t that young'uns put on YouTube......to our collective amusement. Why is Taiwanese pop music more sensible than American....much more beneficial lyrics. The Great Prophet Zarquon. The Dark Lord, Dick Cheney. The internet......"It's a series of tubes!" The "War on Christmas." Nick says he hates to say it, but we all know he doesn't.....Fox News.....Mwahaahaahaahaa. "Jesus Christ, God Damn it, it's Merry Christmas. Jesus H tap dancing Christ". ExplicitUp, Up & Away! | This week we head own down to our favorite place for a good Shanghai dumpling, called (ironically enough) Shanghai Dumpling! We were joined by our good friend Chuck, who is Simon's flight instructor. A while back, Chuck & Simon were having a conversation about the state of private pilot training ... which led into qute the passionate discourse. But, since Greg wasn't there when it happened, he was able to happily relive it. :-) Join us as we delve into (among other things): the reasons why student pilot numbers (or "starts") are dropping our food :-) getting started in flying the financial reality of flight training the reason behind the rigors of flight training & certification why flying cars is a baaaad idea figuring out flight costs balking at ancient aviation technology still used today airplane costs & accidents (hint: it's the reason why aviation is pricey) a training story or two the impending pilot shortage & paltry salaries We'll definitely have Chuck on again, but preferably in a quieter place! ExplicitDont touch my junk! | This week we have a good old mix of topics. We start reviewing our weekends. Greg went to a Basia concert. Simon went flying, in the clouds, and we both had Sunday lunch down at the pub. Nice! We stray into talking about war heros and we discuss some of them we've spoken to over the years. We talk about Thanksgiving, as that's coming up and that leads us into the topic of travel and the recent TSA debacle. We throw in some excellent quotes for good measure. BMSMA. ExplicitWho could ask for anything more?....oh but the world went to hell! | This week on "What the hell just happened" we discuss 2 rather splendid weekends. Simon's started on Friday, but Greg's started on Wednesday.....now that's a weekend! We then discuss a number of stories that made us sound like 2 curmudgeonly old farts. Stories include a new ruling in a Va school that means failure is impossible.....we call this b******t. In California, illegal immigrants can get California education and those of us who are legal pay for it. Again, we call this b******t. We talk about the massive invasion of privacy courtesy of the TSA, stupid rules by politicians and the idiots they employ to execute them.....and one guy who stood up for himself in the face of this moronic situation....don't mess with his junk! In light of this news, we were not surprised at all that scientists are proposing that the mission to Mars is going to be one way. We suggest putting the politicians on the flight! Bah humbug! BMSMA. ExplicitDrinking and flying, although not together. | This week we talk about Greg's spectacular weekend up in San Francisco...and surprisingly, he remembers it! Simon tells us of his tough exam, getting his instrument pilot rating....phew, glad that's over. We question why politicians think it's OK to side step rules that are set up to protect us from people like them, with all the robo-calls and telemarketing. Finally, we pass on some info about our friend JP, who has recently successfully orchestrated a campaign to get a grave marker for the dog Toto (Wizard of Oz), as most other famous doggies from the movies have one. (He did originally, but it was moved, and then lost. Music at the end is the guitar solo from "Echoes", by Pink Floyd.....one of the best solos ever recorded, but one that gets forgotten by most, other than Floyd fans of course. Either way, it rocks. ExplicitFear the beard! | This week Greg talks about his rather smokey weekend, and what he can remember of it. Then we have our buddy Ashok on the show. He recently got back from a business trip to Pakistan. Yup, a high tech business trip to Pakistan that didn't involve the military. We discuss the trip, what's going on over there and his thoughts on various aspects of the country. We move outside and chat briefly about the upcoming US and California elections, before ending on a lighter note, and comment on a couple of movies we've seen recently. We chat about his move back to Tennessee, his various lines of work since being back and the impact of the recent flooding on Tennessee....and why it's different from what happened in New Orleans (where he grew up). ExplicitBeam me up Scotty, that was HOT!....and a lot of hard work too. | This week the podcast is a little different. Simon had to go down to LA (Santa Monica) for some study for his pilot instrument rating exams. At the last minute Greg joined him, even though he was snowed under with work. It worked out well in the end and they even managed to get a quick dinner in at Beverly Hills....which was spiffing. LA hit 114 degrees this weekend, and it was 110 as we left. Good grief that was hot, especially for the end of September. So the podcast was recorded as the guys drove up HW 5 back to the San Francisco Bay Area....so the background noise is a little bit of the car joining in this week's podcast. ExplicitParty, then into the darkside | THis week we initially explore the happy side of what was the previous weekend. Greg partied like it was 1999, Simon got friendly with a coyote and a bob cat family. Ashok just partied. We then explore a few "What the hell just happened?" scenarios and articles we've been reading recently. GPS tracking for cars, kids, the old and infirm as well as criminals. (Greg diverts into 3D porn...don't know how really.) Scanning for passports and credit cards and products to protect against this. Billions wasted in Iraq....who didn't see that coming. We venture into Greg's unusual weekend, going to a kick boxing match, where he braves and visual assault of Play Boy Babes and gets himself onto the "Rather Good Podcast" in the process. Simon discusses his recent trip...a dual purpose visit to England and onto Rome. The England part was for his nephew's wedding and Rome was the bonus since they were over there already. Fun was had by all, except for in the Louis Vuitton shop. We then venture into more dangerous territory and discuss the recent flooding in Pakistan and why financial assistance hasn't been quite as forthcoming as they'd like and then we close on the sticky subject of the NY mega Mosque....You know, light entertainment and all that stuff. We then launch into our weekend: Greg goes to a cigar event (and you benefit from his vast cigar knowledge as a result, woohoo!) & a concert, and Simon rocks out at his OWN concert! A music-filled weekend it was! Next, it's crap that made us go WTHJH?? To wit: Many US universities are a waste of money! Empty suits can be found in Corporate America! Housing in Silicon Valley is ridiculous! The "Waiter Test" is the best thing ever! The Gulf States (UAE, Saudi Arabia, etc.) restrict Blackberrry access? Android phones are outpacing the iPhone?? Explicit"It's good to be the King!" | We start off by recapping on last week's podcast, the one with Jim....as it was very intense and covered a lot of ground. Greg asks why we're surrounded by stacks of musical instruments. We explore the concept of lobbyists, what they do and why it's not good for anyone really....Greg explains where the name comes from.....The Hay Adam's Hotel. We review a program on the world's most extreme airports and Simon gives a "Holy S**t" to some of them. We discuss social manners and Greg's amazing experience with a very rude woman in a Panda (Pandora) Express and the obnoxious lady. Simon counters with his experience in a local pharmacy. We touch on the subject of the new mega mosque that's supposed to be built near NY's ground zero, and what's wrong with it....and the history of Wall Street....and that the wall was originally there to keep pigs isolated. We remember an old TV program....."Not the 9 o'clock news." and how great it was. One of the members was Pamela Stephenson. That brings us onto the quote from "History of the World"....."It's good to be the King." We are slowly remastering earlier podcasts, to boost the volume. These are not repeats, but are boosting the volume of the early releases. The closing music this week is a little different. It's a bit of "Nocturn" by Kate Bush, which is from the CD Aerial....which is glorious. BMSMA..... G&S | 8/2/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

We have a guest on, Jimmy, who tells us about his experiences of trying to start a business in California; one that unfortunately requires local and State government approval....this is where it gets sticky. It's quite a disturbing podcast in it's implications, but this is a no holds barred podcast, so don't say we didn't warn you. Heavy, but interesting listening. ExplicitRight turn Clyde, Cloud computing malarkey, and 'there was much rejoicing...yeh'. | Right turn Clyde, Cloud computing malarkey, and "there was much rejoicing"...yeh. Fiiiinally we got Jason on the podcast after months of invites.....he's a busy boy. We are secretly joined by Jason's wife....who opted out to sit quietly and not join in. We revisit some old times with Jason, some work and some banding fun experiences we had. We expose the vocal capabilities of Greg (mainly Karaoke). We geek out for a while, and talk about Jason's current work and how he's making a living from the 'Cloud Computing' consulting....plus what the hell is cloud computing. "www.forcebrain.com". Greg and I talk briefly about a local restaurant we visited with Karen the previous week. "Sent Sovi"http://www.sentsovi.com/ OMG it was good. We had a full blown 7 course tasting course and had to waddle home. Greg and I recount a road trip we did a few years back to visit Jason when he lived up in Portland Oregon....all on backcountry roads: to Crater Lake, Mount St Helens, Lava tubes. We play an odd video from rathergood.com as Jason was the person who introduced us to this rather strange web site. This is it. http://www.rathergood.com/axolotl We head outside and Jason tells us how he proposed to Carmela and why being romantic doesn't always work out as planned. Jason and Greg give us a "What The Hell Just Happened" moment when they both (separately) met a lady-boys/transgenders (One in LA and one in Bangkok), and how they had a close shave but escaped unharmed. Jason tells us of his close encounter with a probable/possible terrorist shortly after 911, and how the FBI took no interest in him, despite being told about his strange behavior, and then about his close encounter with contraband art out of Iraq....all the time with Bae Jiao panting (and her collar jingling) in the background. ExplicitThe World Cup, Karen, Balty and Egypt! | This week we have Karen on the show. She's a long time friend of both Greg and Simon and we recount the week....which involved a lot of eating and a great deal of fun. We explore the World Cup...duh!....some of the food we digested, and the fits of laughter we indulged in along the way, but the main focus is Karen's writing and her new blog, http://baltazarfishegyptdiaries.blogspot.com. She's an aspiring children's author and she also talks about the trials of trying to find an agent and be published. The blog is linked to the main character of her current work in progress, Baltazar Fish. The blog is being written in the first person, and is set as a prequel to the novel. We discuss Egypt a little, as Karen's travels there inspired her book. Before closing we go back to the previous week's story of the Jack Norworth memorial stone being placed at his burial sight. This project was undertaken by 2 friends, JP Myers and Chris Epting, both guests on the show. The event to put the new stone in place was on July 11th, 2010 and photos were taken. ExplicitTaking us out to the ball game. | This week is quite special. We have JP Myers on the show to tell us about the campaign to get Jack Norworth's memorial marker updated and spruced up. Who's he? He's the guy who wrote the lyrics to "Take me out to the ball game.", the famous baseball song sung at every game. When JP learned from Christ Epting, during a book signing for a baseball book, that Mr Norworth was buried near his home, and so few knew of him, he began to organize a campaign to make a difference......and boy did he ever. He tell us all about it, what happened, who got involved, and what's going on. It's an amazing story. Chris also has a new book out, "Hello it's me" which is superb, so we talk about that a little too. After this we divert into some unusual subjects and for some reason end up talking about the Addams Family. Greg for some reason ends up talking with an odd Cary Grant type voice while we discuss various local steak houses. Simon recounts learning about various national behavior traits during his time as a tour leader, back in the 90's. We are now on Skype...obviously since last week's AND this week's guests joined us via that delightful technology. We also heard from a listener from the UK, Simon P, and facebook friend. That's the end of the bulk of the show...but wait, order now and we'll throw in this for free.......... We also tell you about a podcast we pre-recorded just 2 days prior, during a flight to Coalinga to visit Harris Ranch, and the perils associated with lots of cows and a heat inversion. We're using new fangled technology to record in the plane now, so get a much better sound: our voices minus the drone of the engine. It's not studio quality, but it's a damn site better than our first attempt! That podcast will be released shortly. We're also hoping to take another flight on July 5th, up along the California coastline, to Shelter Cove, and will record another podcast there too....for later release. We just thought it would be fun to tell you about all our plans, including future guest's Jason and the glorious return of "Pam". Enjoy....we did. BMSMA. S&G | 7/4/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitA musical theme | This week, we have a distinctive musical theme....no, not 'Musical" like Mama Mia and Cats......music as in rock type stuff. We start off the show by talking with Dairenn Lombard of the band StarFire. He tells us about how we writes his music, how long he's been doing this and a little bit about the track we listen to. After Darienn, we indulge our musical theme by discussing the fact that Rush have finally got a star on the Hollywood walk of fame, and Greg surprises us with a brief snippet from the classic album, "Moving Pictures", then astounds us with a school rendition, from an 11 year old Japanese girl, of the same track. It is truly astounding. We quickly move onto some current events/topics and have a serious chuckle along the way. We give a shout out to JP, who's off to help with his father's surgical procedure. ExplicitItaly travels, Strange knights and I'm an actor darling! | This week we are joined once again by our good buddy Ashok. Best not to ask (but there's some Swiss Yodeling music and Classical Italian stuff too). Simon quickly runs through the rest of his recent trip to Switzerland and Northern Italy. Greg and Ashok are sniffed a great deal by Bae Jiao, for reasons best known only to her. We contemplate the intricacies of Facebook, and how it's changed things, at least socially. ExplicitA jolly fun trip | People of earth. We are back with a brand, spankin' new podcast. This week Simon recounts his recent trip to England, which is actually part 1 of a 2 part podcast....next week it's Italy and Switzerland. We promise no yodeling. Simon flew to the UK right on the heals of the volcano, and his flight was the first out of SFO to London following the eruption....talk about last minute. Throughout the podcast, Greg regales us with useful travel tips for those of you who might not have traveled internationally before (from a US perspective.) Sooo, moving on, Simon went over primarily to see family and friends, before joining his wife in Switzerland, for an actual vacation. He stayed in York and the surrounding area: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryedale http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malton,_North_Yorkshire http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/York ....and saw lots of relatives, friends (Chris, Malcolm, Ashley, Adrian...you know who you are!), played in a jam with old band mates from school. (Nick, Kit and assisted by Declan) at a local pub.....and it was fantastic fun. He's a tincy bit of video from the event. It was fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtuM1kCCX0c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oME3DA3pNkE&feature=related He then trailed up to Ilkley to see yet more relatives....a very spritely 95 year old, who's sharper than many 30 year olds. Believe me, she's as sharp as they come. 'tis good to see, that's for sure. He visited one of his favorite places, Betty's tea shop in York. York and the surrounding area is stuffed full of history. Just chock full of the stuff. York has it's Minster and Ryedale has loads of stuff, but Castle Howard is the most famous. Then it was onto Italy, but that's another story. It was all over far too quickly. | 5/17/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitWay up there | This week see the WTHJH podcast in a slightly different environment. We're up in the sky. Yup, you got it, we recorded the podcast while flying in a Cessna 172 over Yosemite Valley. This makes the sound a little different this time: voices more tinny and there's a definite engine sound rumbling away in the background. Play it loud in your car and it sounds like you're actually in the plane with us. We know....we tried it. We fly out, with Simon a little preoccupied as he's keeping the plane in the air. Greg gives a great commentary on the progress of the flight. We head over the Central Valley of Northern California, the bread basket of the state, and onto the breathtaking views of Yosemite Valley, covered in snow. After a little sight seeing (ie flying around in circles), we head to Mariposa Airport for a spot of local burger. We stumble upon, as we so frequently do, a great local bar that serves an amazing burger. The bar is full of some really interesting characters, but we're far too interested in the food as we're starving by this point. After a pleasant walk back to the airport (and a walk to the bar, lets not forget that too!) we head home and see the wonderful views of the Bay Area welcoming us. Check out our blog too, which has links to the pictures and videos. Catch you all next week when our feet will be firmly back on terra firma. Lets us know what you think of this experimental podcast too. To record this, we had to stick a small microphone in our headsets...rather uncomfortable after 2 hours. However, we've just got hold of some new equipment that means we can record without having microphones stuck in our pilot headsets so hopefully the sound should improve next time, should this podcast go down well. Let us know what you think. G&S. Peace and KMSMA | 5/11/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitFly The (VERYVERYVERY) Friendly Skies! | Wilkommen ... Bienvenue ... Welcome ... C'mon In! This week we dive ever-deeper into that Marianas Trench O' Treachery with a podcast that claims -- at least several times -- to be explicit. And we are. ;-) Just a smattering of the things we have in store for you: Our great & wonderful friend "Pam", a "Qantas Flight Attendant," regales us with "tales" of the skies. And bacon. Simon "accidentally" calls "Pam" by her real name, "and" then has "to" go back and edit her name "out". FUN PODCAST GAME!! --> See if you can spot the edits! Greg takes full advantage of the podcast's explicit rating by dropping way more cuss-bombs than normal. He's not normally like this, he swears! Much ado about two "frackin'" brilliant TV series: Battlestar Galactica (2004) Spartacus (the one later than 2004 ... you know ... that one) The Joys ... no, wait ... We then adjourn to our favorite pub, The Duke of Edinburgh in fan-tabulous Cupertino where we're joined by our good buddy and regular podcast guest Ashok, and the conversation gets velly velly intellesteeng ... "How interesting?" you ask? VELLY! That's what we said!! VELLY!!! You'll just have to listen and find out, heheheh. <-- [diabolical laughter] Ending Music: "Arborescance" by Ozric Tentacles | 4/26/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitGreg's Orange County Weekend! | This week Gregamundo recounts his fabulous weekend in Orange County. He went down for a book signing by author, Chris Epting, for his new book, Los Angeles's Historic Ballparks. Greg tells us all about his great time down there with all our friends & listeners ... and he remembered most of it, too! Who'd have thought that? We play some music by Julie Esposito (who was also there this weekend) and who blew us away with her voice. Amazing! Check out Julie's excellent album, Unsung Hollywood! We give a shout out to a friend and listener from the UK, also called Simon, who's birthday it was this week ... you old fart. G&S. Peace. KMSMA | 4/19/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitThe Podcast. Now a new reason to love Mondays. | "The Podcast: Now A New Reason to Love Mondays!" ™ The latest What the Hell Just Happened Podcast hits the wire! This week, Gregamundo and Simundo review the past week....exciting as it was. We talk about videotaping the podcast to show a bit on Youtube to folks, but after several people saw it, we were advised not to! Faces for radio perhaps? Who knows, but it didn't happen. We discuss some of our favorite movies, Bae Jiao's ability to detect earthquakes, Simon's hosting of a Taiwan genius kid and how it helped with both our faiths in the younger generation. We mentioned some Pyramids and what's on the dollar bill.....and that they're not the ones everyone thinks they are....they're in Sudan not Egypt. Here's some photos. Go take a look and compare.......we may ask qvestions later! http://wysinger.homestead.com/nubian105.html It's a small world. From the odd stories section, there's this little beauty. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601086&sid=aDCaxCs1_xvA Peace and KMSMA. G&S | 4/12/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitWhat Do Cigars, Yosemite, & | This week we have our good buddy Ashok join us. We discuss some of our more memorable trips, including a few spectacular moments in Yosemite; watching planets rise behind Half Dome, rock slides, a rather sexually-depraved ranger, and bears (unrelated topics!). We then move the party outside with our cool pocket-sized digital recorder where Greg then regales us with his wondrous knowledge of trivia of Honduran cigars, Budweiser and some local landmarks. | 4/5/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Sunday we recorded the podcast and then had a great lunch back at The Duke. Now that's a nice way to spend a weekend! | 3/28/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitOutsourcing, A Fun Week, The Census, & A Little Bit O' Healthcare | This was a fun week and we packed a lot in, running over our usual 45 minutes. We get our podcast back from Apu and his buddy, who were outsourcing it. We review the week, and the fun Greg had on St Patrick's day.....which he could remember surprisingly enough, and also Simon's various activities during the week....none of which involved woodpeckers...Hurrahhh!!! We move onto the "Serious S**t" segment and discuss the census and a teensy-weensy bit about the health care reform drama that is playing out across the country (as well as Facebook). We play the audio part of 2 youtube videos made by Jerry Day. This guy sums it all up in a way that we just couldn't and he's excellent, as rather than just banter like we do....he does his research. Oh the news channels could learn so much from him. | 3/21/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

ExplicitIt's The Olympians, Dummy! | This week we thought we should dedicate almost the whole episode to exploring the wonder that was the 2010 Winter Olympics....and what a spectacle it was. From the emotional highs and lows, to the magnificent to the bloody ridiculous, we discuss our favorite and least favorite parts of it all. There were some definite WTHJH moments in there too, both good and bad. | 3/1/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
