#049 - DJ Mix by Dakar | For this week's podcast we're pleased to have a true veteran player show off his skills and eclectic music taste: Christian Kreuz a.k.a. Dakar. Originally hailing from Munich, Dakar has been a resident DJ in the city's legendary Ultraschall club for eight years and has recorded his music for labels such as Get Physical, Disko B, and most recently Gomma. Many will further know the charismatic neo-Berliner as part of Dakar & Grinser, the electro pop outfit he formed together with Michael Kuhn. With numerous singles and their 1999 album 'Are You Really Satisfied Now' the two became poster boys of the booming electroclash movement at the time. In 2005 they reunited to record their second album, 'Triumph Of Flesh'. As a solo artist Christian Kreuz has been both recording German-language indie-pop under his real name as well as eclectic dance music as Dakar, his latest project being a collaboration with Barcelona's disco-rave hero Golden Bug. Their 'Magia Potagia EP' has just been released on Gomma Dance Tracks in May. Featuring Tracks by Sygaire, Seiji, Trickski, WooBanger, Indulgence, Buraka Som Sistema, Synkro, Two Armadillos, 6th Borough Project, Marc Romboy, Rampa, Golden Bug, Andrea Esu, Robert Hood and Future Beat Investigators. | 7/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#048 - DJ Mix by Aroy Dee | Right in time for the weekend we are happy to present this week's zero" podcast and it is one of our finest so far, coming from Dutch techno stalwart Aroy Dee. In loose association with the Delsin camp Aroy has been running his M>O>S imprint for many years now, holding up the flag for deep and raw Detroit-style techno on the Dutch west coast. Artists who have appeared on M>O>S include Morphosis, Legowelt, Gerd, D'Marc Cantu, yet Aroy Dee himself has been responsible for most of his label's output. His productions - also as part of the R-A-G crew together with G-String and Marco Spaventi - have further been released on Rush Hour, Delsin and NWAQ and have consistently been exploring the field between deep and drifting techno and the jacking analogue house the Netherlands have become famous for. Featuring Tracks by Newworldaquarium, Redshape, E.S.P., Ross 154, Morphosis, R-A-G, Kassem Mosse, Aroy Dee, John Roberts, D'Marc Cantu, Murphy Jax, Craig Loftis, Deux, Jungle Wonz, 2 AM/FM and KA Posse. | 7/8/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#047 - DJ Mix by Baby G | Born and raised in Barcelona, Georgina 'Baby G' Fernandez has been spreading the disco gospel throughout Europe since the mid 1990s. While living in London Baby G teamed up with veteran disco producer Pete Herbert (of Reverso 68 fame) to form L.S.B.. Signed to the mighty Eskimo Recordings the duo released numerous singles, as well as unofficial edits under the Super Discoteca flag. Now Baby G has taken up residence in Berlin, starting her next project: Dance Disorder. Again a duo, this time with partner Robin Crafoord, Dance Disorder joined the BPitch Control family with their second release, 'Zusammen', in 2010, which has since seen remixes provided by Jerome Sydenham and Mr. G (no relation). #046 - DJ Mix by Shir Khan | This week we're happy to present a podcast mix from Berlin's king of the concrete jungle, Shir Khan, who has been busy mashing up modern dancefloor styles with his Exploited label as well as via his famously eclectic DJ sets. It's been four years since Shir Khan founded Exploited as a free-style outlet for hyper-energetic club music, from Baltimore breaks to electro house, from neo-rave to new wave crunk, perfectly representing Shir Khan's similarly fearless DJ style. Artists who have released on Exploited include the likes of Siriusmo, Malente & Dex, Lorenz Rhode, and Adam Sky. Shir Khan further host his own radio show on Berlin's Radio Fritz and has been making a name for himself as a remixer, adding his touch to numerous productions of artists such as Munk, Bonde Do Role, Ben Mono, or Act Yo Age. | 6/24/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#045 - DJ Mix by Zanshin | This week's podcast comes from Gregor Ladenhauf, better known as Zanshin, and as one half of Viennese house duo Ogris Debris. Those who only know Ladenhauf from cheeky club hits like 'Raid The Itch' and 'Salty Womb' or his club-rocking stage appearances with partner Daniel Kohlmeigner might expect a similar style of minimal house music from his solo productions. His Zanshin project is however firmly dedicated to broken beat electronica, perfectly evident on his debut EP for Vienna's red-hot Affine Records label, 'The Humdrum Conundrum EP'. On the EP Zanshin combines influences from Warp-style electronica with elements of dubstep and a solid dose of catchy melodies. There's even an excursion into warm, droning ambient, 'Solrenichi', and a voice-boxed breakbeat song, 'A Flock Of Locks'. | 6/10/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#044 - DJ Mix by Philogresz | Featured DJ in our podcast this week is Philogresz, or Ilker Soylu to his mum, known from his releases of minimalistic, yet sensual techno-house on Team Records and Ware. Born in Turkey's metropolis Istanbul at the beginning of the 80s, Philogresz moved to the Netherlands in the summer of 2002 to start his education in music production at the Art Academy of Utrecht (HKU). Philogresz became part of the Dutch electronic music scene as a DJ, promoter, and producer for local labels such as Manual Music and Sound Architecture. In 2009 Philogresz signed to Mathias Schaffhäuser's prestigious Ware label with his 'Milestone EP'. His home town, Istanbul, has remained a strong focal point for Philogresz over all these years however: Once a month he travels there as a resident DJ in the city's hip Otto club. | 5/26/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#043 - DJ Mix by Roman Flügel & Oliver Hafenbauer | This week's podcast showcases of one of our favourite labels at the moment: Frankfurt's Live At Robert Johnson (LARJ) imprint, with sets by Roman Flügel and Oliver Hafenbauer. Associated with the legendary club of the same name, LARJ was set up in 2008 by DJ icon Ata to pick up where his previous labels Playhouse and Klang Elektronik have left off. Managed by Oliver Hafenbauer (of B.H.F.V.) and supported by star producer Roman Flügel the label has so far done an admirable job to represent the eclectic spirit of Robert Johnson's famous club nights. With releases by artists like Arto Mwambe, Massimiliano Pagliara, and Plein Soleil (Kikor and Chloé) LARJ has so far covered a musical spectrum that ranges from authentic new-wave disco (as featured on Ata's recent 'Live At Robert Johnson Vol.7') to modern house and electro with classic influences. | 5/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#042 - Crew Picks by Georg | This week's podcast is once again our Crew Picks edition, which brings you a fresh selection of our favourite tracks from the past few weeks. For every Crew Picks edition each member of our team selects his or her current favourites to be assembled into a one-hour mix by one of the DJs in our crew. This time around the mixing part has been once again done by Georg, editor-in-chief at zero" and also known under the name of DJ Glow from his productions of Detroit-style electro, mainly for his own Trust label. Following the theme of our current Electronica Special, his mix this week is a largely beatless affair, bringing together some of the finest productions of ambient, electronica, and neo-classical music released in recent weeks. Featuring Tracks by Matthew Herbert, CM Von Hausswolff, Murcof, Sven Weisemann, Agoria, Alva Noto, Emanuele Errante, Prefuse 73, Mark McGuire, They Live, Burial, Conrad Schnitzler, Burnt Friedman, Au Revoir Simone and Com Truise. | 5/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#041 - DJ Mix by The Exaltics | For many years now The Exaltics have been holding up the flag for underground electro and subaquatic techno bass in the vein of Drexciya and Dopplereffekt. Undeterred by trends and fashions the production outfit from Eastern Germany has been releasing its music via labels like Transient Force, Z-Bop, and the project's own Solar One imprint, set up in 2006. 2010 turned out to be a break-trough year for The Exaltics, who signed to The Hague's legendary Bunker label for a monumental three-part album series. The recent release of '1000 Lights in the Sky Part 1', 'Part 2' and 'Part 3' coincides with a renewed interest in electro fuelled by the current wave of UK producers like Instra:mental and dBridge, and lays out The Exaltics' musical vision in full for the first time. Dark and sinister and more reduced than ever before, the three volumes summon the spirit of Drexciyan electro by oscillating between clear-cut analogue synth funk and crunched-up 808 and 303 driven acid bass across 25 intricately crafted tracks. Featuring Tracks by Carl Craig, AS1, Adult., Orgue Electronique, LFO, Rude 66, Unit Moebius, The Exaltics and A Made Up Sound. | 5/5/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#040 - DJ Mix by Duffstep | London-based producer Jeremy Duffy (aka Duff Disco) has been releasing as Duffstep for less than a year, with just a couple of singles on Saigon Recordings and Electric Minds. Yet he's quickly accumulated many fans with his winning slowed down and funked-up disco and dubstep influenced beats. 'Getting To Sirius' dropped early this year on the label he co-founded, Join The Dots, with a stunning animated video for the unruly bass-stepping 'The Way It's Got To Be'. His debut album, it melted almost everyone in its path, cosmic-bound synth melodies, dusky beats and warm fuzzy bass making even more sense now the summer is finally getting underway. Not just a great album nestling between dancefloor and bedroom, it also came with several brilliant remixes including Falty DL, Mark E and Riley Reinhold putting their own twist on Duffstep's atmospheric tunes. His live audiovisual sets with VJ Rebel Overlay look fittingly epic and with his summer jam-packed with tourdates, he is set to get even bigger. Featuring Tracks by Alphabets Heaven, Marcellus Pittman, Youandewan, Move D, Franklin De Costa, 2562, Kahn, Cosmin TRG, A Taut Line, Francois Dubois and Tom Noble. | 4/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#039 - DJ Mix by Wolfram | Hailing from the small West-Austrian town of St. Veit an der Glan, Wolfram was always going to make it big. Barely in his twenties he set out for New York City with little more than a pair of Helmut Lang jeans and a bag of old disco records. The Big Apple welcomed the boy from the countryside with open arms however, and when Wolfram eventually relocated to Vienna, he had already made a name for himself as a DJ as well as many new friends in NYC's glamorous night-life scene: Princess Superstar for instance, with whom he recorded 'Lick The Alphabet', the first release on his Diskokaine label, or in fact Moby, who let Wolfram remix his track 'Disco Lies'. Another stroke of genius proved to be the signing of Sally Shapiro and Johan Agebjörn to his fledgling label. The Swedish duo shot from obscurity to stardom with the innocent disco pop of 'I'll Be By Your Side', while Wolfram's more sinister side found its expression on jacking acid tracks like the Condoleezza Rice sampling 'America F**k Yeah' for Crème Organization. Over the years Wolfram has convinced an impressive number of artists to work with him, from Auto Repeat to DJ Funk, but his recent debut album for Permanent Vacation, simply titled 'Wolfram', is surely the pinnacle not only of his musical but also his persuasion skills: A line-up of contemporary all-stars like Hercules & Love Affair, Holy Ghost!, Patrick Pulsinger, and Legowelt is complemented by moustached '80s disco hero Paul Parker and '90s eurodance star Haddaway, who celebrates a triumphant return on 'Thing Called Love'. Even more recent is Wolfram's single 'Recession Session', a collaboration with Constantin Zeileissen of Vienna's electro duo Microthol. Essentially a contemporary acid makeover of the KLF hit 'What Time Is Love?', the track was just released on the mr.intl label of Hercules & Love Affair's Andy Butler, continuing Wolfram's ongoing mission of coming to terms with the past. | 4/26/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#038 - DJ Mix by Aeromaschine | The greatest moments in a largely predictable music business are when you're blown away by a release you expected nothing from, recorded by an artist you have never heard of before. Listening to Aeromaschine's recent 'Basement Dubs EP' for Hamburg's Baalsaal imprint was such a moment. Played out loud in our office, its five tracks turned heads across the room, and dutiful answers as to what we were listening to were met with more then one incredulous "what, this one too?". The EP combines dub techno, deep house, Chicago and Detroit in a way that would make any veteran producer proud. Yet, the man behind 'Basement Dubs' is a young artist from Bucharest, Romania: Alin Crihan, as he's known to his friends, started releasing his first productions around 2007 on a number of digital labels, gradually refining his sound until he devised his Aeromaschine alias in 2009. His 'Poet In Disguise' release provided a first glimpse of his talent to create deep, unadorned house tracks and eventually led to his signing to Hamburg based label Baalsaal. They were not the only ones to take note of Crihan's qualities however: Aeromaschine's brand-new EP to follow hot on the heels of 'Basement Dubs' is called 'Ascultam Vorbe', and has just been released on Tensnake's excellent Mirau Musik imprint. Featuring Tracks by Francis Inferno Orchestra, Manolo, Public Lover, Aeromaschine, Genius Of Time, Christopher Rau, Tornado Wallace, Roberto Rodriguez, KRL and Tensnake. | 4/14/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#036 - DJ Mix by Signal Deluxe | Our podcast this week takes us around the globe (at least from where we are standing) to Mexico City, home to Valeria Rueda and Jeronimo Puenta, better known as formidable techno duo Signal Deluxe. Both Valeria and Jerga have been active in Mexico's techno scene for many years before starting to work together as Signal Deluxe in 2005. From there things picked up fast with a continuous stream of releases appearing on international labels such as Revolver, Trenton Records, Persona, Pantamuzik, Thoughtless Records, and most recently [a]ppendics.shuffle's Adjunct imprint. In 2008 the pair has started their own label, Blaq Records, to showcase the work of local Mexican producers alongside music by international artists like Itzone, Reynold, and Jeff Bennett. The style of Signal Deluxe's tracks ranges from minimalistic, yet emotional house music to cool, bleepy techno and has made their music a favourite with countless DJs and prominent remixers such as Mathias Schaffhäuser, Stephen Beaupré, and Franco Cangelli. Featuring Tracks by Monolake, Tom Thiel, Fantastic Mr Fox, 1000names, Maxmillion Dunbar, Brian Cares, Echopilot, Analogue Monsta and Blue Daisy. | 3/31/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#035 - City Focus: Leipzig by Sebastian Schlachter | Two of Leipzig's most prominent electronic music artists, Kassem Mosse and Daniel Stefanik, introduce their home-town in this week's edition of our City Focus podcast. Composers like Bach, Wagner, and Mendelssohn Bartholdy made Leipzig one of Europe's musical centres during the 19th century, and after the German reunification in 1990 a new generation of artists was eager to resume this tradition. Leipzig's Distillery opened its doors in 1992 as the first East German techno club outside of Berlin, bringing the sounds of Detroit, Chicago and London to a city hungry for new music. A bustling and heterogeneous scene of clubs, record shops, DJs, producers and labels developed in Leipzig from the 1990s on. Hard techno enjoyed a lasting popularity with venues such as Opera, Basis, and Club 1040, whereas artists like Maus & Stolle, Marlow, and Frankman introduced a deepness derived from Detroit and nu-jazz into their productions and sets. Statik Entertainment became one of Leipzig's first labels to promote experimental techno sounds, releasing its first slices of vinyl in 1994, while the city's first label to achieve widespread international attention was Moon Harbour, which was founded by Distillery resident DJ Matthias Tanzmann in 2000. The label's initial focus on deep house music gradually expanded to include contemporary tech-house by artists like Luna City Express, Martinez, and Seuil. Jahtari is another popular imprint, crossing over chiptunes, dub and ragga styles from a network of international contributors coordinated by Werk Disks artist Disrupt. The diversity doesn't stop here however: Eclectic new wave disco sounds can be found in the productions of Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt, the latter also running local record store Freezone. Map.ache and Bender & Sevensol have recently started their excellent deep techno imprint Kann Records, and artists such as Marko Fürstenberg, Douglas Greed, Sven Tasnadi and Juno6 have likewise made a name for themselves with distinct takes on underground techno and house. Featuring Tracks by m.mup, Kassem Mosse, Daniel Stefanik, Lowtec, Matthias Tanzmann, Douglas Greed, Map.ache, Sven Tasnadi, Good Guy Mikesh, Marko Fürstenberg and Disrupt. | 3/24/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#034 - DJ Mix by G.Rizo | Chances are you've seen G.Rizo on stage on Patrick Pulsinger's recent album tour, behind the decks at her own Art Klub, or starring in performances by US artist Jen Ray. For the past few years G.Rizo has been busy making waves across the music and art scenes, editing New York's Repellent magazine, releasing on DJ Hell's Gigolo imprint, and working with musicians like In Flagranti, Snax, and Jimmy Edgar. Most recently the multi-talented singer, DJ, and producer has embarked on yet another new venture: Setting up her own label, Hezekina Pollutina. First releases on the label have seen G.Rizo team up with long-standing collaborator Sasha Crnobrnja of In Flagranti, with remixes coming from West Coast electro legend Egyptian Lover and Parisian new-rave producer Dinamics. From what we've seen so far the mission of the label seems clear: Rocking the dance-floor with pop and poise. Born in the US to Nigerian parents G.Rizo recorded her first release, 'Je Me Mentis', in 2003 for In Flagranti's Codek Records imprint. Her distinct voice, commanding stage presence, and extravagant fashion style immediately triggered comparisons to Grace Jones, and G.Rizo caught the attention of DJ Hell who released her 'Eye Wanna C U' on International DJ Gigolo in 2006. The single was backed by a remix by Austrian techno legend Patrick Pulsinger, who invited G.Rizo as a guest vocalists on his 'Utopia Parkway EP' the same year and more recently his current album 'Impassive Skies'. Leaving New York for the post-imperial glamour of Vienna, G.Rizo began to host her own free-style club nights under the Art Klub banner, contrasting club DJs with Klaus Nomi impersonators, art performances, and camp movie screenings. | 3/17/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#033 - DJ Mix by Rndm | Originally hailing from the western parts of Austria, Oliver Kargl a.k.a. Rndm has been part of the Dial label's tightly knit family of artists for many years now. Rndm started DJing techno and Chicago house in his home town's Stone Club before moving to Vienna in the late 1990s. It was there he met Philipp Sollman, better known as Efdemin, who at the time was studying at Vienna's Institute for Composition and Electroacoustics, ELAK. Sharing a common love for both house music and experimental sounds, the two started recording together as Pigon in 2004. Refining their approach to analogue club music in endless live recording sessions Pigon released two highly successful EPs on Dial, 'Little Albio Street' in 2006 followed by 'Promises' in 2007. The same year both Rndm and Efdemin moved to Berlin to set up a new studio together. Rndm went on to record two EPs for Dial's vinyl-only subsidiary Laid, while contributions by both Rndm and Pigon appeared on Dial's excellent 'You Are My Mate' and '2010' compilations. New works from both of Oliver Kargl's projects are currently on the way: As Rndm he will shortly release an EP on Efdemin's Naïf imprint, while a new Pigon release is forthcoming on Dial. Featuring Tracks by The Detroit Escalator Co., Moritz Von Oswald Trio, Nick Höppner, Mark du Mosch, Black Jazz Consortium, Actress, Mike Grant, M.E., Anthony Shakir, Boo Williams, Nebraska, Hieroglyphic Being, Santiago Salazar and Oneohtrix Point Never. | 3/10/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#031 - DJ Mix by Ulysses | Known to the world by the name of Ulysses, New York's Elliot Taub has undoubtedly been on a roll lately. His 'Acid Reflux' EP has just appeared on The Rapture's hipster imprint Throne of Blood, making waves from RA to XLR8, while his and John Selway's Neurotic Drum Band project is bound to hit it big with its brand-new single 'U Got Me Dancin'. The current buzz surrounding Ulysses might fool you into taking him for a fresh face on the scene, but you couldn't be further from the truth. Taub has been pursuing his eclectic sounds for a solid decade now, both as a DJ and as a producer. Ten years ago Ulysses gave us a first taste of his talent with his 'Tribalismo' EP on Gary Martin's idiosyncratic Detroit techno imprint Teknotika. Since then he has been spreading his productions far and wide - from his 'Aviator Sunglasses EP' for Savas Pascalidis' Lasergun imprint to releases on legendary Chicago house label Guidance, Cologne's My Best Friend, and of course Ulysses' own imprint, Scatalogics. On paper such a choice of labels might seem haphazard, but Ulysses' productions have managed to maintain a unique musical handwriting despite their stylistic versatility. Elliot Taub's main point of reference is certainly early house music, but he also draws inspirations from various other musical genres and eras - disco, techno, electro, as well as New York's new wave and no wave scenes of the 1980s - all of which he distills into energetic tracks that combine dancefloor appeal and pop music finesse. If anything, Ulysses' sound has become even more eclectic lately. His 'Gibson in E / Love Hangover' single on Internasjonal from late last year surprised us with two slow motion cosmic disco epics. Aforementioned 'Acid Reflux' EP meanwhile, to which Internasjonal label boss Prins Thomas contributed a brilliant remix, consists of two hard-hitting acid house anthems as well as a sweet pianotronica piece, 'Lullaby', thrown in for good measure. As if such diversity wasn't already enough to make your head spin, Ulysses also entertains a collaboration project with fellow New Yorker John Selway, called Neurotic Drum Band, which is dedicated to exploring the fusion of old-school piano house and Zapp-style P-Funk. The duo's second release, 'U Got Me Dancin'', has just appeared on New York's Wurst Music imprint. | 2/24/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#030 - City Focus: Bristol by Sebastian Schlachter | Headhunter and Pinch are our very special guests this week when our City Focus homes in on the UK's secret dubstep capital: Bristol. The British harbour city has been a stronghold of alternative music since the 1970s. From bands combining punk, funk, dub and political consciousness, such as Mark Stewart's The Pop Group, the Bristol trip-hop sound of Tricky and Massive Attack, to drum'n bass artists like Roni Size and DJ Krush. For the past few years however it has been Bristol's vibrant dubstep scene that had become the focus of media attention. Influenced by the city's fabled Jamaican dub and sound system cultures artists like Pinch, Peverelist, and Smith & Mighty's Rob Smith (a.k.a. RSD) were among the first to create their own variants of London's emerging dubstep style. By the middle of the decade a large number of independent labels had sprouted up, showcasing the talent of local producers: Pinch's Tectonic imprint, Peverelist's Punch Drunk, as well as Earwax, Immerse, and Apple Pips, each representing a distinct take on the new sound. Several Bristolian artists rose to stardom on the back of their unique production style: Young über-talent Joker for instance, whose p-funk inspired synth riffs led the way for a new wave of pop-inspired, 'neon-coloured' dubstep, or Appleblim, who pioneered the incorporation of techno elements into dubstep via his and Shackleton's Skull Disco imprint. Featuring Tracks by Headhunter, Pinch, Kowton, Smith & Mighty, Joker, Guido, Peverelist, Orphan101, Sideshow, Moderat and RSD. | 2/17/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#029 - DJ Mix by Harald Björk | Hot on the heels of our Stockholm City Focus our DJ mix this week comes from one of the city's finest young artists, Kranglan Broadcast label owner Harald Björk. Over the past few years Björk has defined a unique style of melodic, electronica-influenced techno for himself, across EPs for Traum Schallplatten, his own Kranglan Broadcast label, and most recently his debut album 'Bigfield'. Having grown up in the suburbs of Stockholm, nature has served as a constant inspiration to Björk, whose music is naive and emotional, yet bears an elegant and experimental edge. Björk's fusion of dreamy melodies, minimalistic techno beats, and freestyle editing has gained him numerous supporters, among them them Border Community's James Holden, whose psychedelic techno concept is a close match to Harald Björk's sound aesthetics. Consequently Björk has joined the roster of Border Community's booking agency not long ago. Recently Björk has been touring his 'Bigfield' album, called 'one of the best techno albums of the year' by Germany's influential Süddeutsche Zeitung, with a brand-new live set. Swedish video artists Jossystem have further completed a trilogy of inspired videos for the album. | 2/11/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#028 - DJ Mix by Gravious | Our podcast this week comes from one of the most interesting Scottish producers in the field of dubstep: Glasgow's Ali Jackson a.k.a. Gravious. Socialised by diverse styles of electronic music, from ambient to drum'n bass, Jackson got hooked on the sounds of the emerging dubstep scene at the start of the millennium and took to producing his own music shortly thereafter. One of Jackson earliest supporters was Hotflush Recordings label boss Scuba, who released Gravious' first single, 'Wormsign / Monolith', on his label back in 2006. Hotflush released another Gravious single the following year, 'Fall / Winter Sun', as well as the track 'Temple Ball', which appeared on a split single alongside tracks by Benga and Marlow. Despite having been one of the first tracks Ali Jackson had recorded, 'Temple Ball' perfectly highlighted Jackson's unique take on dubstep, juxtaposing percussive subbass breaks with oriental orchestras that could have well served as the soundtrack to a Hong Kong kung-fu flick. Gravious' subsequent 'Futurist EP' for Highpoint Lowlife further refined his musical approach. Detroit-style pads and funked-up synth chords lent tracks like 'Jupiter Jazz' and 'World Of Tomorrow' an airy, almost weightless feel. Yet Gravious also knows how to evoke more sinister moods, as evident on 'Vultures', a track built from a menacing bassline and tribal chants. Just released this week via fresh Southern UK imprint Saigon Recordings, Gravious' 'Junction City EP' is yet another highpoint in his explorations of dubstep's melodic possibilities. Its eponymous opener skilfully employs syncopated glissandi, while its closing track 'Wu Shin' once again uses oriental tonal scales. Featuring Tracks by Erik XVI, Ikonika, Girl Unit, Mala, Gravious, Kode9, Geiom, Peverelist, Vaccine, Ramadanman, Martyn, Joker and Kuedo. | 2/3/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#027 - City Focus: Stockholm by Sebastian Schlachter | Stockholm might be known the world over as the epicentre of Scandinavian pop music, from ABBA to the A*Teens, but our City Focus on the Swedish capital is bound to reveal quite a different side of the city's bustling music scene. With Axel Boman and Harald Björk we talk to two rising stars in Swedish electronic music, who readily share their inside knowledge on their home town's club and music culture. Our podcast this week is also going to dispel another popular misconception about Stockholm - that hard, remorseless techno is the only popular form of electronic music in Sweden. Around a decade ago, the hard-hitting productions of artists like Adam Beyer might have brought Stockholm to the attention of techno fans worldwide, but while this particular style of techno is still widely popular today, it is by no means the only form of underground dance music coming out of the Swedish capital. Quite on the contrary, the breadth and scope of Stockholm's musical output rivals that of any other European capital - from the fragile electronica of Mokira and The Field, to Hakan Lidbo's anarchic free-style sounds, and the fun-loving electro-pop of Hugg & Pepp (a.k.a. cousins John and Jesper Dahlbäck). Featuring Tracks by Axel Boman, Harald Björk, Aril Brikha, The Field, Hugg & Pepp, Mikael Stavöstrand, Adam Beyer, Mokira and Hakan Lidbo. | 1/29/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#026 - DJ Mix by Dave Tarrida | We start into a new year of zero" podcasts with a very special guest behind the decks, someone who is celebrating his 20th anniversary in the techno business in 2011: acclaimed DJ and veteran producer Dave Tarrida. Tarrida's career started in Edinburgh, where he set up the Sativa club nights together with friends back in 1991. Over the five years of its existence Sativa became Scotland's best known techno club and eventually turned into an equally famous label, Sativae, run by Tarrida and partner Steve Glencross, releasing records by artists like Neil Landstrumm, Cristian Vogel, DJ Hell, Adam X and Jamie Lidell. In 1999 Tarrida retraced his Spanish roots by relocating his studio from foggy Edinburgh to sunny Barcelona. The same year he joined the camp of Berlin's Tresor label, at the time at the peak of its creative influence. Several EPs, such as his experimental techno classic 'Postmortem Pop', were followed by his debut album, 'Paranoid', in 2001. Over the past decade Dave Tarrida has been busy producing and remixing for a large number of underground techno imprints, From Shitkatapult and Musick to labels as diverse as Relax2000, input - output inc., BPitch Control, Pomelo, and EevoNext. Despite spreading his musical output far and wide, Dave Tarrida has stayed true to his unmistakable style - raw and headstrong techno that subverts its a glitched-up sound aesthetics with shuffled funk grooves and a taste for menacing saw-tooth bass lines. Featuring Tracks by Biggie & Foldy, Phil Kieran, Laufmasche, Shadow Dancer, Phortune, Robert Hood, Dave Tarrida, D.I.M., Electric Rescue, Gesaffelstein, Benny Rodrigues, G.Rizo and Armando. | 1/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

#023 - DJ Mix by Cosmin TRG | This week's podcast comes from someone who certainly ranks among the hottest artists of the year 2010: Bucharest's Cosmin Nicolae, better known as Cosmin TRG. Nicolae originally become known under the name of TRG when he single-handedly put Romanian dubstep on the map back in 2007. His very first single, 'Put You Down / Broken Heart', was the first release on Ramadanman's Hessle Audio imprint and provided a template for the label's influential deep and reduced dubstep style. Both tracks received much attention at the time, spawning equally acclaimed remixes by Martyn and label boss Ramadanman the following year. More TRG releases on followed in short succession Immerse Records and Dutch imprint Subway, before in late 2008 Nicolae signed to London's Tempa imprint for the brilliantly shuffled-up single 'Decisions', making him the pioneering label's first artist not to hail from the UK. After a rather quiet 2009 Nicolae returned to the release circuit early this year with a surprising change to his sound - and his name. Now going by Cosmin TRG, his second Tempa release, 'Now You Know', incorporated straight 4-by-4 beats into his productions for the first time, presenting a remarkably unique conception of dubbed-out and funked-up house music. Amsterdam's Rush Hour label was quick to take note and offered Cosmin TRG an ideal platform to experiment with his new style. His two singles 'See Other People' and 'Liebe Sünde' undoubtedly factored into RA's decision of choosing Rush Hour as its label of the year 2010 - a year that further saw Cosmin TRG exchanging remixes with New York's Falty DL, contributing to Modeselektor's 'Modeselektion', and reworking Aardvarck's 'Nosestep'. And if all that wasn't enough, Cosmin Nicolae also revived his TRG alias for a recent single on Hemlock Recordings, 'Tower Block / Béton Brut', proving that his love for abstract dubstep hasn't subsided either. Featuring Tracks by Basic Channel, Cosmin TRG, Axel Boman, Roman Flügel, Airhead, The Machine, Schatrax, Brandt Brauer Frick, Shed, Ben Klock, Lucy, John Roberts, Scuba, STL, Silent Servant, &Me and Culoe De Song. | 12/16/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#022 - DJ Mix by DJ TLR | Ten years ago DJ TLR took up the baton to represent the west coast sound of Holland with his Crème Organization label. With close to a hundred releases since, the label has firmly established itself as a bastion for of jacking Chicago house sounds, eclectic synth-disco, and Detroit-style electro alongside like-minded imprints such as Bunker and Clone. Many well known artists of the Dutch scene have contributed to Crème from the start, such as The Hague's Danny Wolfers, whose prolific productions for Crème have appeared under his Legowelt, Polarius, and Salamandos guises, and who has teamed up with TLR under the name of Mr. Clavio on occasion. The Crème Organization family has quickly expanded across the Dutch borders however, and over the past years many of the world's finest artists of the electronic music underground have contributed to the label: From Detroit electro legends Aux 88 to italo disco pioneer Alexander Robotnick, from jacking acid jams by James T. Cotton to analogue house music tracks by Basic Soul Unit. Featuring Tracks by 2AM/FM, Redshape, House Of Jezebel, Kink, Nebraska, Marco Bernardi, Phochos, Mike Dehnert, Marcello Napoletano, Reel By Real, A Made Up Sound and DJ Nate. | 12/9/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#021 - City Focus: Buenos Aires by Sebastian Schlachter | Our City Focus this week takes us to South America - to the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires to be precise, where we talk to prominent techno producers Gurtz and Seph about their bustling home city and its music. Buenos Aires is of course the city of Tango - from Carlos Gardel to Gotan Project - but also of cumbia, as well as rock nacional, the hugely popular Argentinian version of US domestic rock. Electronic music never had it easy in Buenos Aires, where imported vinyl is often prohibitively expensive due to the city's remote location and Argentina's notoriously unstable currency. Despite this, club life has become a popular pastime among young porteños, mainly among the city's hedonistic middle and upper class. In the shadow of Recoleta and Palermo's hipster hangouts however, an interesting scene for underground electronic music has developed in recent years. Its breadth of styles ranges from experimental minimal techno by artists like Barem, Jonas Kopp and Gustavo Lamas to the electronic cumbia mutations of ZZK Records, and international artists like Matias Aguayo have recently chosen the Argentinian capital as their city of residence. | 12/2/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#020 - DJ Mix by Brendon Moeller | The 20th zero" podcast stars one of today's most prolific and versatile electronic music producers, Brendon Moeller. Born and raised in South Africa, Moeller left his Johannesburg home, teaching career, and fledgling indie band behind when he moved to New York in 1994. In absence of his band mates, he turned to electronic means of production, releasing his first 12" on Sm:)e Communications in 1997. Eventually one of his demos, recorded under the name Beat Pharmacy, ended up with New York house music legend Francois K, leading to a long-lasting and fruitful relationship. Over the past decade Brendon Moeller released five Beat Pharmacy albums and around a dozen singles via Francois K's Deep Space Media and Wave Music imprints, defining a unique sound of electronic dub that draws on acoustic instrumentation as well as on influences from Moeller's past as a drummer. Expanding his stylistic range beyond his signature Beat Pharmacy sound, Moeller began to record under his own name as well as under his new alias, Echologist, contributing his music to a staggering amount of great labels, from neo-disco imprint Eskimo, over dubstep labels like Apple Pips, to the Danish home of dub-techno, Echocord. In late 2009 Moeller started a label of his own, Steadfast, which is already approaching its tenth release. And Brendon Moeller shows no sign of slowing down: His new single, 'Close Up', has just been released on the brilliant Dutch Ann Aimee label, while Echologist's techno bomb 'Connect' has been dropped via Jochem Paap's Electric Deluxe imprint. | 11/18/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#019 - DJ Mix by Superisk | Peverelist's Punch Drunk imprint has been doing an excellent job at spotting new talent over the past few years, breaking young artists like Guido or Heytal, and firmly establishing Bristol as a hotbed for cutting-edge dubstep mutations. The latest artist to step out of the Bristol underground via a release on Punch Drunk is Superisk, whose debut single 'Find Your Way' has recently caused a stir, among others at De:Bug magazine who chose it as their single of the month for October. As a DJ Superisk is a resident at Bristol's well known underground dubstep and grime club, Sureskank Convention. Many Bristolians also know Superisk from late night sessions at, the now sadly closed, Tube club, home to so many of the city's specialist dance music events. Along with his solo productions, Superisk has been collaborating with Bristol based 'hip-hop for the rave generation' crew, Central Spillz, recently completing their forthcoming debut album, 'Space Travel'. | 11/11/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#018 - City Focus: Glasgow by Sebastian Schlachter-Delgado | With Slam's Stuart McMillan, Optimo's JD Twitch, and Numbers' Jackmaster we interview three main protagonists of Glasgow's burgeoning electronic music scene in this week's edition of our City Focus podcast. It's not by accident that Glasgow has been likened to Detroit in regards to its music scene. Journalists might have had Detroit's Motown era and Glasgow's plethora of famous indie bands - from Primal Scream to Franz Ferdinand - in mind, but also in respect to its immense output of electronic music Glasgow has been one of the British isles' cultural epicentres for the past two decades. If there is a common thread running through electronic music emanating from Glasgow it might well be its knowledge of and reverence for the genre's history - something which doesn't seem to get in the way of musical innovation however. Where Slam's early techno productions paid homage to Detroit techno, today young artists like Rustie and Hudson Mohawke build their ingeniously inventive music on the foundations of Detroit electro and funk music. Featuring Tracks by Slam, Alex Smoke, Space System, Colder, Rudi Zygadlo, American Men, Roska, Hudson Mohawke, Deadboy and Martin Patton. | 11/1/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#016 - DJ Mix by Karl Moestl | Back in the late 1990s, Karl Moestl and Uwe Walkner were part of the Viennese downbeat movement that swept the globe. The pair released two EPs on Kruder & Dorfmeister's seminal G-Stone Recordings imprint, the 'Bluish EP' in 1999, followed by 'Heaven Or Hell' the next year. Despite critical acclaim, Walkner.Moestl disbanded after the release of 'Heaven Or Hell', with both producers dedicating themselves to other projects. Karl Moestl's ensuing solo productions include noteworthy remixes, such as his take on Carl Douglas' famous 'Kung Fu Fighting', which appeared next to versions by Adrian Sherwood and Rob Smith in 2004. Moestl further collaborated with Richard Dorfmeister, founded the duo Cusmos, as well as his own label, DEFusion Records. Since its inception the imprint has been home to the output of fellow Austrian artists, like well-known radio DJ Functionist and the accomplished hip-hop of his debut album 'Coalitions Pt. 1', as well as Moestl's solo productions which have increasingly taken a turn for the electronic, as evident on his recent dub-techno influenced 'Electric Wood EP'. Now, in 2010, Walkner.Moestl have reunited. Ten years after their last release, the duo returns with 'Structures', an album of 16 new tracks as well as three videos, which were directed by Karl Moestl himself. 'Structures' is an accomplished album and presents a remarkable update to the Walkner.Moestl sound by fusing dubstep styles with house, techno and downbeat elements, while adding a distinct pop appeal with the inclusion of numerous vocalists. | 10/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#015 - DJ Mix by Paul du Lac | The Netherlands' west coast is like an island in time. Nowhere else is the memory of classic house, techno, electro, and disco more fondly treasured and kept alive, nowhere else do these classic dance music styles constantly serve as blueprints for new and exciting productions. Paul du Lac is a prime protagonist of this movement. The Rotterdam based DJ and producer was recently signed to Clone Records for his enthusiastically received 'Kira / Bingo' and 'Blowback' singles, which featured rough and authentic house music - full of soul, timeless in their appreciation of the genre's past, yet perfectly compatible with modern day dance-floors. Du Lac has recently started his own label, Data Leak, together with like-minded producer Bas roR. The imprint's first two releases, Data Leak's 'Data Drip' and Bas roR's 'Fixed Purpose' have featured input by veteran Dutch producers Syncom Data and Duplex, and impressively showcased the pair's passion for deep and dubbed-out Detroit-techno sounds. Another co-production of the two is forthcoming on October 25. The 5-track EP 'Digital Curved Sky' appears under the artist name Relict and combines jacking Chicago house beats with deep house and techno flavours for a release we are very much looking forward to. | 10/6/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#014 - DJ Mix by Robot Koch | Robots in the house! This week's podcast comes from one of our favourite artists at the moment, Robot Koch, whose production skills have recently led his Jahcoozi project to fame via Ellen Allien's Bpitch Control label. His prolific solo work, such as his latest 'Listen To Them Fade' EP, has further provided us with some of the most memorable broken beat creations that have met our ears in recent months. We might also add that Robot Koch is widely known as one of the most genial synthetic beings in the entire music industry - when there are no lasers shooting out of his eyes, that is! Whether you call it Barefoot, Berlin Bass, or experimental breaks - Robot Koch's music plays in a league of its own, fusing contemporary hip-hop, downbeat and dubstep styles. Equally capable of creating all-out party tunes and hauntingly beautiful breakbeat collages, Robot Koch has launched his own label in 2009, Robots Don't Sleep, which is dedicated to his solo output. He further records for Berlin's hip-hop imprint Project Mooncircle, which will release Robot Koch's new album, 'Songs For Trees And Cyborgs', this Friday. | 9/29/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#013 - City Focus: Los Angeles by Sebastian Schlachter-Delgado | Fifteen million million people make Los Angeles one of the most culturally diverse places on the planet. We talk to three of LA's most prominent electronic music artists, Santiago Salazar, Silent Servant and John Tejada, who share their insights on the ever-changing City Of Angels. Over its 200-year history Los Angeles has transformed from a small pueblo into a multi-cultural urban sprawl, a melting pot of Hispanic, Asian, and European influences. Known as the 'entertainment capital of the world' for its accumulation of film studios, radio stations, and record company headquarters, the city's music scenes are as diverse as its inhabitants. From gangster rap and hardcore punk to the city's famous Hispanic Morrissey fans - fervent admirers of every conceivable musical genre and niche can be found in Los Angeles. With seemingly every second rock band of the planet hailing from LA, the Californian megalopolis is first and foremost a rock music city. The West Coast hip-hop sounds pioneered by N.W.A. and Dr. Dre come in a close second though, and electronic music has been gaining ground over the past decade as well, establishing lively scenes for house music, techno, electronica, and various hybrid forms of dubstep and experimental hip-hop. | 9/23/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#012 - DJ Mix by Rampa & David Mayer | Little more than a year has passed since the first Keinemusik record landed on our doorstep and first alerted us to the freshly founded Berlin-based collective. Seven releases later and Keinemusik has by far surpassed our expectations, having become one of the city's most consistent and increasingly prominent imprints for contemporary house music. The productions and DJ sets of Keinemusik members &Me, Rampa, Adam Port, and David Mayer follow a recipe that is as easy to formulate as it is hard to execute: Combining the functionality and punch of minimal techno with uplifting and soulful house music vibes. The label's hits like &Me's 'F.I.R' or David Mayer's recent 'Crime' perfectly showcase this approach with distinct vocals - one of the label's musical trademarks - and impressive breakdowns, which have made the tracks favourites with DJs like DJ T., Dan Curtin, Ralph Lawson, and big-time Keinemusik supporters and occasional contributors, Tiefschwarz. Add to this the label's lovely and highly unique watercolour artwork, produced by Berlin-based artist and illustrator Monja Gentschow, and it's easy to understand the immediate appeal of Keinemusik's releases. | 9/10/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#010 - DJ Mix by Ritornell | What does denoised noise sound like? Richard Eigner's album 'Denoising Field Recordings' does just that - remove the noise from recordings of train stations, church bells, and public spaces, until only abstractions of the original sounds remain. It is an approach which stands for Eigner's open-minded inventiveness, something that has made the young Linz-based producer one of the most interesting artists in Austria's music scene. The trained session drummer has already worked with artists like Patrick Wolf, Patrick Pulsinger, and Flying Lotus on his 'Cosmogramma' album, and entertains a number of his own projects just as diverse. Besides running the Wald Entertainment label, Eigner is part of Ritornell, a two-piece electro-acoustic jazz band comprised of him and pianist Roman Gerold, which debuted with the album 'Golden Solitude' via Berlin's Karaoke Kalk imprint last year. The duo's fusion of glitch electronica and film noir jazz vibes has been met with wide-spread acclaim, and work on a second album will commence in September. Currently Eigner is busy setting up the sound art exhibition 'Expedition Sonar' together with Karin Fisslthaler (fellow Austrian musician Cherry Sunkist), which will open in Linz's Lentos Museum this Friday, August 27. | 8/25/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#009 - City Focus: Tel Aviv by Sebastian Schlachter-Delgado | Guy Gerber and Dor are our two illustrious guests in this week's edition of our City Focus, but as always the real star of the show is the city they are from: Tel Aviv. Israel's seaside metropolis is known as a 'city that never sleeps', its famous beaches and bustling nightlife attracting 1.5 million visitors each year. It comes as little surprise that most electronic music from Tel Aviv is both an expression of the city's modernity and its perpetual sunshine. Artists like Chaim and Shlomi Aber have achieved worldwide success by combining contemporary minimal techno with light-hearted pop music influences in their highly regarded production work. Shlomi Aber's label, Be As One, serves as a home base for many local artists such as Gel Abril and Itamar Sagi. Influences of Detroit techno and house can further be found in the idiosyncratic productions of Yoav B, who crafts a unique sound on his releases for Delsin, and whose work we give special attention to in this podcast. Featuring Tracks by Guy Gerber, Chaim, Deep'A, Gel Abril, DJ Yoav B., Itamar Sagi and Shlomi Aber. | 8/20/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#006 - DJ Mix by Hugo Capablanca | Hugo Capablanca is one of the busiest names in Berlin's crowded party scene. Hailing from a small village in Spain, Capablanca set up shop in the German capital six years ago, charming the city with both his intimate knowledge of rare 70s disco music and his insatiable taste for partying in style. He took up a residency in Berlin's legendary Rio club, where he hosted his own 'Cash Money' nights. Since Rio's closure in late 2007, Capablanca brought his vintage record collection to countless venues in Berlin and abroad. His 'Tausendisco' nights have become a favourite with the Berlin in-crowd, attracting guest-DJs like Optimo, Todd Terje, and many others. In 2008 Capablanca started his own label, Discos Capablanca. Its debut release, 'Jungle' by Grackle, a.k.a. New York's Speculator, included a remix by Düsseldorf's elusive Unit 4 and became a big favourite for neo-disco fans. On the label's second release, he brought together Whirlpool Productions' Eric D. Clark and Chicago's DJ Traxx for 'In A Daze', a classic slice of jazz-inspired acid-house. Hugo Capablanca's latest project is Los Massieras, dedicated to the art of editing vintage underground disco with his partner in crime, David Ducaruge of Sex in Dallas. Their first EP, 'Boogity Boogity Boogity', released with a lovingly animated video, received rave reviews from the likes of Pitchfork. Its follow-up 'Better than Italians' just hit the stores and continues the duo's exploration of 70s experimental rock and disco crossover sounds. | 7/28/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#005 - City Focus: Copenhagen by Sebastian Schlachter-Delgado | Copenhagen's electronic music scene has been on a steady rise over the past decade. Conveniently located half-way between Norway's neo-disco hot-spot Oslo and the German techno capital Berlin, Copenhagen has been drawing on influences from both of these cities. Add to this one of Europe's largest rock music festivals, taking place every year in nearby Roskilde, and what you get is a perfectly diverse music scene. Take artists like Tomas Barfod or Trentemøller: the former responsible for both disco-punk outfit WhoMadeWho and techno label Tartelet, the latter equally famous for his dancefloor bombs and post-rock songs. The diversity doesn't stop here. Acts like Efterklang or Dub Tractor combine acoustic instruments with electronica, offering unique takes on experimental indie pop. Artists such as Mikkel Metal and Resoe uphold the grand tradition of cold and spacious dub-techno, and when a young producer of minimal house like James Braun drops a pristine dubstep track on a release called 'Oi World This is Copenhagen', it's a perfect testament to the city's open-minded musical climate. | 7/21/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#004 - DJ Mix by Daniel Meteo | Manager of the mighty Shitkatapult label, DJ, promoter, and producer of extraordinary electronic music - Daniel Meteo is a man of many vocations, all of which he follows with the heart and passion of a true music lover. Daniel Meteo hails from the West German industrial town of Essen, but has been living in Berlin for the past 15 years, where he quickly became an integral part of the city's booming electronic music scene. In 2000 he founded his Meteosound imprint, dedicated to diverse explorations of electronic dub sounds. He further started the project Bus, together with Tom Thiel of legendary ambient outfit Sun Electric. The fruitful collaboration yielded two albums for Pole's ~scape label, a perfect outlet for the pair's abstract hip-hop and downbeat productions. In 2006 Meteo released his debut solo-full length, 'Peruments', a dubbed out masterpiece, crossing over low-slung grooves with influences from deep house and minimal techno. Hooking up with Apparat and T.Raumschmiere, Daniel Meteo united the three labels Shitkatapult, Musick and Meteosound under the umbrella of Random Noize Musick, for which he took over label management duties. This did not keep him from producing music however, and numerous EPs for Karaoke Kalk and Meteosound were followed by his acclaimed second album, 'Working Class', released on Shitkatapult at the end of 2009. Featuring Tracks by Daniel Meteo, Das Bierbeben, Elastic Heads, Fenin, T.Raumschmiere, Sun Electric, Jan Jelinek and Shrubbn!!. | 7/14/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#002 - DJ Mix by Patrick Pulsinger | For over 15 years Patrick Pulsinger has been doing things his own way. From free-jazz experiments to producing pop acts, Pulsinger has never been taking the easy route throughout his career. Neither has he made it easy for his fans to love all his diverse productions in equal measure, but entirely worthwhile for those broad-minded enough. Pulsinger has started his career in the early 1990s, recording harsh abstract techno for labels like New York's influential, though short lived, Vortex Records and eventually for Cheap, the label he founded together with long-time partner Erdem Tunakan in 1993. Just as a booming techno scene began to embrace harder and harder techno sounds, Pulsinger & Tunakan turned the dial in the opposite direction: Tracks like iO's 'Claire' and 'Libre', or the Pulsinger/Dorfmeister co-production 'Citylights Pt II' pioneered the fusion of jazz and techno, turning the heads of people far outside the techno scene, such as James Lavelle, who signed 'Claire' to his pioneering trip-hop label Mo' Wax. The milestones of Pulsinger's career are almost too numerous to mention. His debut solo album 'Porno' from 1994 is certainly one of them, as is his free-jazz deconstruction 'Easy To Assemble. Hard To Take Apart' from 2002. Both these threads have been picked up again lately with the joint project of Pulsinger and bassist Werner Dafeldecker, dp-S, continuing the exploration of experimental jazz sounds and his latest solo album 'Impassive Skies' showcasing his continued love for cutting edge techno. | 6/30/10 | Free | View In iTunes |

#001 - City Focus: Cologne by Sebastian Schlachter-Delgado | Our first podcast focuses on the ever diverse Cologne, which has been a centre for new and exciting trends in music ever since the 1950s. It was the city where Herbert Eimert started his 'Studio für Elektronische Musik' and was home to composers like Karlheinz Stockhausen and Pierre Boulez. In the early 90s, when electronic club music arrived in Germany, it fell on a very fertile ground in Cologne, making it known for its unique take on minimal techno, combining principles of electronic music with German folklore. The specific Cologne flavour of minimal was most prominently pioneered by Wolfgang Voigt (a.k.a Mike Ink) and his Kompakt, Profan and Studio 1 labels, along with producers and labels such as Mathias Schaffhaeuser and Trapez. It would however be short-sighted to reduce the 'Sound Of Cologne' to minimal techno alone - the brilliant deep house of Andy Vaz's Yore label also hails from Cologne, as do diverse indie-electronica projects like Mouse On Mars, Popnoname and Von Spar. Featuring Tracks by Andy Vaz, Justus Köhncke, Ada, Michael Mayer, Dettinger, Grungerman, Mike Ink, Popnoname, Studio 1, Walls and Dollkraut. | 6/23/10 | Free | View In iTunes |
