Description
In the highly anticipated first season of Dollhouse, Echo (Eliza Dushku) is an “Active,” a member of a highly illegal and underground group who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas. Confined to a secret facility known as the “Dollhouse,” Echo and the other Actives including Sierra and Victor carry out engagements assigned by Adelle, one of the Dollhouse leaders. The engagements cater to the wealthy, powerful, and connected, and require the Actives to immerse themselves in all manner of scenarios — romantic, criminal, uplifting, dangerous, comical, and the occasional “pro bono” good deed. After each scenario, Echo, always under the watchful eye of her handler Boyd, returns to the mysterious Dollhouse where her thoughts, feelings, and experiences are erased by Topher, the Dollhouse’s genius programmer. Echo enters the next scenario with no memory of before. Or does she?

Fascinating premise, great execution, loads of promise...
Joss Whedon does it again. If you liked Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, and Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog, you should check out Whedon's latest effort. Even if you didn't like or see any of those aforementioned shows, you should check out Dollhouse. What's not to like? Eliza Dushku brings the talent and the sexy playing Echo, an "Active" in the Dollhouse. Who was Echo before she joined the Dollhouse and had her mind and memory wiped? Will she ever regain her "true" identity? Do bits of it remain? What are the origins of the Dollhouse? What is its ultimate mission? Does it harm more than it helps? (one guess: yes). Once your contract as an "Active" is up, can you really leave? (another guess: very possibly not). And why is an FBI agent on an obsessive mission to find the Dollhouse even though everyone he knows thinks it's just an urban myth? Knowing how Joss Whedon operates, the answers to these questions will be as fun as they are philosophically provoking. As the story unspools (and knowing Whedon, deepens and widens), we get to enjoy Dushku and the amazing supporting actors, who play characters by turns intriguing, sympathetic and mysterious. And the Dollhouse set...gorgeous. And creepy. Bring on the next episode!

i watched this on friday and i was completely blown away.i love this show!It's so captivating.I'm sure this show will become one of my favorites.
Another great Whedon show with potential
Joss Whedon has proved time and time again that when he puts his mind to it, he can write an engaging show with long term direction. With that said, Dollhouse isn't quite there yet, but in a short amount of time will be. This show has an interesting premise and a lot of characters to define and I feel like the pilot did a good job of setting that up. Eliza Dushku is perfect for this part and although she may seem a little cold right now, with every episode the viewer will be more and more connected to her. I am sad to say that the hype for this show could not possibly be lived up to in a pilot and placing it in a Friday night time slot did not help the cause. Joss Whedon is known for quality shows that don't really hit their stride until a few episodes in. Give this show a chance, and I guarentee you will love where it is going!
