Description
Year Zero is a modern take on high performance surfing set in a post-apocalyptic world, reminiscent of Mad Max or an HG Wells novel. It tells a story of a band of renegade surfers, including Dion Agius, Yadin Nicol, Nate Tyler, Taj Burrow, CJ Hobgood and Damien Hobgood, on a road trip through the apocalypse in search of waves, women, and good times. The film’s original soundtrack by Black Mountain, whom Vice Magazine has called, “One of the best rock n’ roll bands of our time,” creates a sonic landscape that fully delivers the immersive experience that director Joe G envisioned for the film. The film was shot on location around the world entirely in super 16mm film and offers a unique concept with stunning visuals that capture the essence of surfing in a novel setting. Year Zero follows Globe’s previous award winning productions such as Secret Machine and New Emissions of Light and Sound and is undoubtedly Globe’s largest film project to date.

Here's your review. It's the surf movie of the year hands down. Start to finish, concept to creation it might be the most well rounded surf movie of the past decade. Heaving beach break caverns in France, ultra tech air game abounds, WA, the brothers Hobgood taking off under the lip every single time and Soens/Joe G shots so tight and ramped so fast that you can see toes burying themselves into wax for dear life. It's iconic. Period.
anyone watch?
Can someone review this? Is this another Lost Atlas. I blew 10 bucks on that trash, I want some Secret Machine esqe amazingness
f*ckin sick
CJ and Damien destroy it in this vid. It is nothing like lost atlas (which was pretty weak I must say). There are a lot of airs but most are pretty unique or just unbelievable. The barrel riding is great, thats what puts this vid on top of most. They explore some awesome places and ride some wild toobs. Definitely worth the $10. Dion is one of my favorite surfers so I wanted it regardless.
