Description

We are so familiar with the map of United States, but do we know why our states look the way they do? Every line on the U.S. map tells a great story: California’s border was bent to claw onto lucrative gold deposits; Oklahoma's panhandle reflects a shifting national barometer for legal slavery; and Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia's shared border traces the scar of a meteor impact. How the States Got Their Shapes reveals the larger story of what makes America unique: a range of natural resources, a history of social experimentation and a thriving democracy.

Missing Episode

Its Great Series. Where is Episode 8?

A Boom with a View

Where is episode 8 "A Boom with a View"? You've already released episode 9, but have yet to release episode 8. What's the hold up????

Expands on the Fabulous History Special

If you liked the History Channel Special, you will like this - I do anyway! Brian Unger, the host, is perfect for the show. Just the right amount of wit, humor, and intelligence - in the 2nd episode, he experiences the Asian Carp problem in the midwest, and his reactions are priceless (especially if you've experienced them too!). I like that the show is informative and interesting. It moves along quickly, and I've learned some interesting facts about how the states got their shapes - which is probably the point of the show!
