Fantastic Viewing
My personal favorites: Journey To Palomar, 400 Years of the Telescope and Pheonix Mars Mission: Ashes to Ice. Journey to Palomar explores the life and work of George Hale, a man of enormous vision who built the largest telescopes in the 20th Century. His groundbreaking telescopes heralded the new astronomy of cosmology, which changed the world and opened science to a wider world. The shows are fantastic documentaries exploring scientific achievements and the people who made them happen. No, there is not a lot of sensationalism or hyperbole. The narratives are solid and factual. The video is beautiful and engaging. You will watch these for entertainment and enlightenment.
400 Years of the Telescope
What an awesome show! I really enjoy the way the story was written and the cinematography is superb. I saw this on PBS in HD when it originally aired - it would be great if was available in HD on iTunes.
Amazing photography!!
I just recently downloaded the PBS special: 400 Years of the Telescope, and I must say, amazing photography! I recommend this purchase to everyone who enjoys learning the history of the telescope or admires pristine HD resolution.
