Description
Season 5 finds the team of intrepid explorers facing peril and uncertainty from within the vast reaches of the Pegasus Galaxy. It opens with Colonel Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) mounting a rescue mission to retrieve the missing team, before being called back to Earth after serving only one year as leader of Atlantis. There is mixed reaction to the appointment of her replacement: I.O.A. representative Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo). His bureaucratic background will prove difficult for the maverick style of Lt. Colonel John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan). The brilliant Dr. McKay (David Hewlett) will face exceedingly difficult personal challenges, while Teyla (Rachel Luttrell) learns to integrate motherhood with her role as warrior. Ronan’s past will return to threaten him again and chief medical officer, Jennifer Keller (Jewel Staite), will find help from a most unlikely source. Meanwhile, a provisional relationship with the Wraith takes a shocking turn and new adversaries will test everyone’s courage and resolve.

Richard Woolsey Era: SG:A Season 5
And like with SG-1, Stargate Atlantis continues to deliver with good writing, acting and visual effects! For those who pay attention to every episode with unending devotion, like myself, there's a "Stargate: Continuum" plug in the season 5 premere (if i told you when it was, that'd ruin the fun!). And delving into the Richard Woolsey era of Stargate Atlantis should be... interesting. The International Oversight Advisory really working their wings on this one. So for those who are Samantha Carter fans, her journey sadly...... ends. We'll get to see more of the people who make SG:A a worthwhile watch. Tayla has her baby, Michael is on the run with his hybrids, and McKay gets more splinters! (and hopefully more arrows in his butt!!) Also, we get to see the return of Dr. Carson Beckett!!! How many times we'll get to see him, i'm not sure. But just to see him back on the show is one for the money! but all in all, we should be looking forward to a great season and thus..... be looking forward to Season 6! :P

Stargate Atlantis Season 5 off to an amazing start!
The first episode started off with quite the bang (literally), with the team struggling to recover after the explosion in Michael's warehouse. The twists and turns don't stop! This is shaping up to be the best season of Stargate Atlantis yet!
